  • Take the evening off 2004-07-21 04:06:47 Last night I said to myself "I won't do any work on my AMV this evening" the idea being that I'd be able to look at refreshed tonight. to be fair I lasted until ten o'clock before I started work on it and only did the linking section from the final verse to the extended chorus. Now I have to think of a way to fill that final minute or so.

    This won't be my greatest work, but it's looking acceptable so far. Watch this space 
  • The debate goes on 2004-07-20 11:44:59 I guess it was too much to hope that the answer to the question would just fall into my lap (either of them falling into my lap would be disturbing. They are fictional). I certainly didn't expect a lot of e-mails on the subject.

    I was right I didn't get any e-mails. ah well, no big deal. I'll have to work something out for myself. Or possibly spend the evening playing Perimeter and installing Photoshop. Or I could kick Kevin out of my chair and finish watching Mahoromatic.

    Anyway 45 minutes of work left. They haven't noticed that I ran out of things to do before lunch time. I hope they realise it soon, I'm bored and can't watch amvs here. 
  • Chidori or Tessa? 2004-07-20 06:09:09 The eternal question, which cute girl do you focus on for the closing half of an AMV. I've had two opinions so far and it's one vote each. I'm not actually enjoying this AMV as much as I have the previous ones even though I've managed to get it almost finished very quickly.

    I guess I could ask Tomos for an opinion. We don't actually get on very well, so I value his opinion a lot more than thos of my close friends. A lesson for anyone reading this, always keep an aquaintence who will tell you, you suck when you suck, but is willing to grudgingly admit when you've done a good job. Close frieds will try to spare your feelings and say that your doing well even when you aren't. Of course if I ask for his opinion too often we'll end up as close friends and I'll stop trusting him 8).

    I'm not sure why I put up stats in this journal, I guess it'll be nice to look back in a few months and see how long it took to do each video. Frankly I doubt it. ah well, here they are again:

  • Life, the Universe and AMVs 2004-07-19 05:27:13 I got fed up with waiting for Amazon to dispatch for the 3-5 days delivery. (predicted to arrive 14-16 July) so I changed my mind and got them to deliver by 1st class post. Guess what they now predict 23-26 July for delivery. Good grief that makes me angry.

    On the bright side I've got a verse and two coruses done of my new AMV. This is the first time I've made a non-comedy AMV (technically the third actually but one of those doesn't really count and the other is the same one I'm working on again now) It takes a completely different way of thinking to see how to use a different style.

    See, I started making excuses *before* people complained. (Which I don't doubt they will)

  • The best laid plan of mice 2004-07-16 07:02:52 OK so I didn't actually get any actual work done on my AMV due to a phone call and the penultimate episode of 24 season 3 (Yes the UK is that far behind).

    On the bright side I got the second month's rent off of my lodger and will be blowing my share of it on anime before the end of next week.

    Speaking of which Amazon are predicting the 3 DVDs I ordered last week as having a delivery date of 14-16 July. They have said "Dispatching Soon" since Monday, it's now Friday 16th July and they still haven't dispatched them. Knowing my luck they try to deliver them tomorrow when no one is in the office and I'll have to go and pick them up from a depot next week sometime.

    I did however find the time to rip a few scenes from Full Metal Panic and have the VOB files on my hard disc waiting for me to start at some point this weekend.
