The benifits of Sims 2

Normally during the beta test phase of AMV production I start to feel a bit at a loose end and more inclined to stop testing and get on with the next video.
This time I'm not at a loose end. I'm playing the sims. I also got a copy of Hellsing for my birthday that I haven't finished watching and imported Inu Yasha season 1 from the states. I also bought Going Postal yesterday and will spend much of my free time reading it regardless of what I think I'm going to do at the time. I am anything but at a loose end. I'm grateful for the excuse not to work on the video. Which is not to say that I won't work on it when I know what needs to be done or even that I plan to delay the next one as long as possible. I'm just happy to have some time to do other things.
I plan to delay the next one as long as possible. Actually, because it's a Hellsing video, I have to delay it, at least until I finish rewatching the series. There was some discussion among the members of my studeo (all three of us) about which series to use with each of the Soul Music songs and this one was a point for much debate. I wanted to use Love Hina but I'm told that's been over used and a little too obvious. Perhaps Hellsing is a better choice. More likely I'll struggle to get the clips I need and/or find there isn't a suitable match for most lyrics.
I could always ignore the rest of them and use Love Hina. I was supposed to use Fruits Basket for the current one but went with Ranma instead. Although my reason for doing so was the lack of DVD footage for Fruits Basket rather than simply wanting to do it differently. -

I'm happy to report that I actually got a fair number of postive responses to my beta. Much of the advice was useful and the little that wasn't could be in the future.
Thank you everyone who helped. You were apparently only a fraction of the people that downloaded the file.
It's not on the server anymore but may be replaced by a second draft or I might just go straight to the release. Either way it will be ready for the next stage either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I had a guest staying this weekend so I didn't have any time to work on the improvements I had already seen suggested. But ont he bright side he brought his laptop and hooked it up to the TV. Which was nice. (fansubs on a 24 inch screen!) -
Asking the forums for help.

I've never had a lot of help asking for wip ops on the forums but I've asked again. As promised I have made my private entries public and exposed the level of my will power.
I expect to get little or no respose to my cry for help. Either way I will be forced to wait until Monday to read them as I have had to take tomorrow off to get my car sorted. So some time mid to late next week I will have another video for public judgement. -

I've actually managed to both play sims2 and work on my amv in equal measure. Of course I've been doing my AMV work from footage ripped before the game's release. Tonight I will see if I have the strength of will to actually rip new footage rather than trying to marry my sims off to NPCs.
I'm not even sure what footage I need to rip. - And suddenly life interupts me 2004-09-20 12:16:08 Well simulated life anyway. I made the mistake of buying The Sims2 on Friday and lost most of my weekend as a result. I did however do some AMV editing but not much. I know that I won't do as much as I'd like over the next few weeks. Then again quality over quantity might be a good thing.
