Tired

Looking at my buddies list, I see I'm not alone.
Someone asked if I wanted a vacation. Yeah - if I didn't have to pack anything. *twitch*

Back to work

Still no computer at home. Have a nightstand with a light again, but still no internet. Stay tuned.
AD - gimme Chopin or go home, vodka-wise. Mmm. Lemon cake....
Amizadai - I have a memory like an elephant. Be warned. Bubblegum is illegal? Sheesh. Well, that puts a spin on the "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass..." In Singapore, you is definitely OUT of bubblegum.
You also have a Union76 antenna ball for your car (or the cats, take your pick) and some mardi gras beads for when you need to be totally silly.
Bowler - AUGH. Earthlink account being held hostage by computer cable stealing elves. Will update as soon as possible.
Castor Troy has discovered Comic Con the way I remember it.
dokidoki - *bookmark overload*
Iserlohn - time to go shopping for a good cookbook - one of my favorite souveniers, wherever I go. Have you hit the Heil's Armee yet?

No computer at home...yet

No lookee, no postee. No kidding.
Amizadai's package is now in Subic Bay - I think that's getting closer. And I'd cry over presents too, if I got ones like yours!
It's official - I'm experiencing Bowler withdrawl. WTF's my sample reel?!!
Anneke - I know where you got your car! Did you step next door to the BMW dealership and check out the Mini Coopers? If not - check them out. They coot. Seriously kawaii anime coot. Then go kick yourself for not buying one. And yeah, CASH is the only way to go. **envy**
dokidoki! dokidoki! dokidoki!!!!
Okay, I'm better now.
Nah.
*runs around room giggling dokidoki for five more revolutions*
It's been that kind of summer. Sowwy.
*thinks of EK's dancing dino and giggles some more*
iserlohn - Lessee. You got three more days with that foot and then I'll give you the phone number of a doctor who 1) Speaks English and 2) is near enough to where you are to likely have treated some of your schoolmates. If you are sending email to me at home, be patient - machine is down pending replacement of the cables. Augh, the cables....*erk* Not going to start.
treeprincess posted! Whoo-hoo! Haven't heard a peep out of her in a long time...whee! Hurry up, open already....0_0;
*huh?*
So much for people not reading your journal. Someone else in dire need of a care package.
And now, for my moment - my computer at work is beginning to suffer from terminal cuteness. Y'see, I'm an old subscriber to the Hitoshi Doi school of anime - Cute is Good. Cute is VERY, VERY, Good.
So there are two little kitties with their paws in the air, a pair of dutch blue delft ceramic shoes and two stuffies on top of my monitor. One is a tie-dye beanie baby of some vintage, but the other one...ah.
The other one is a prezzie from my Love who fetched it out of the evil UFO catcher machine at Carrows for me. I love orange and yellow together (can't wear it for shit) and purple and pink. This little lion has all four colors in screaming shades. And spots on his little back. With little beady black ball button eyes. He'd make anyone happy.
Nothing going on that some hard work won't fix - still kicking!

Chaos
2002-07-29 12:36:32
Amizadai's pacakge is still in Hawthorne and nobody can tell me why.
The carpet is in, but the contents of the house look like someone hit the inside of the house with an eggbeater. The kitchen is back to impassable, and don't ask where anything is. Everything is a treasure hunt. *sigh*
And I think the multi-hundred dollars of DVDs I bought at Anime-Expo are now in deep, deep storage...suckage.
EK - I spend as much time as I can in the SF area - why I'm not there...oh, yeah. Money. *snaps fingers* That's right....

Itt'll be over by next week
2002-07-24 12:54:47
I see the end of the tunnel...but there's no light there. Yet.
iserlohn - http://edweb.sdsu.edu/people/CGuanipa/cultshok.htm Go get it. Read it. Stop feeling like a dumb schmuck. You are experiencing culture shock. Nothing worse. And the site outlines many better tools to use than I can express.
I had my dog. She did a lot for me when I was in Switzerland - a terrific ice-breaker. Got a copy of EK's "Failed Experiments" and someplace to play it? It's truly universal enough - they'll get it.
And either they'll think you're someone with a good sense of humor or a total weirdo. Avoid the folks who think the latter - their loss.
**relax**
Amizadai - going to ship your box today - and it's coming Fedex. Will email a tracking number.
I can't tell you how many of my friends (the onew who did rock climbing and other feats of total risk-taking stupidity) who absolutely killed themselves for life skiing. It sounds like fun - likely it is - but I can't get those thoughts out of my head.
EK - Jim saw his first Wacom tablet. Now wants one. Badly. I know better than to get only one - with that kind of gadget in the house, we'll be fighting over it in two seconds. So I have to wait until I can afford...two of them. Oh, the humanity.
Gotta get moved...gotta get moved...kuso.
