  • *spit take* pt. 2 2002-05-01 16:46:56 You remember that color you used to paint every room in your house, an off-white by the name of Navajo White?

I work for a shoe company...and we call colors by strange things like Cloud Blue, etc. - but I heard something in the halls that was enough to give pause.

That Navajo White is now called....drum roll...potato.

Which gives rise to the following conversation in the hallway....

"Man...I was really diggin your potato upstairs!!"

    "Yeah, cool, isn't it?"

    *haw gasp wheeze*

Thank God for elevator doors. And empty elevators.

When I find out the style (please God, not rollerskates), I'll let you know.

Meanwhile, excuse me while I spit up.

Oh, and if that isn't bad enough (and it's only Wednesday), go check this out:

  • All Bow Down... 2002-04-29 17:08:54 To the wonder that is Mozilla for Linuz, 1.0

    And 1000 journal hits.

    And all that stuff.

Actually, this behaves MUCH better than both Netscape and Galeon - stay tuned.
  • Don't Play Battletech with a Perfectionist. It isn't Pretty. 2002-04-29 13:21:56 Ami - yes, I'm getting everything you send me, but it's all my own fault - I only have about five email addresses I use routinely (it's that Gen X thing again - steal my identity? Which one?) and I've been sending mail to you from about three of them. Gomen. One of them, of course, was from work - and I don't answer mail from there until I'm at my desk. Exception - if something at work has totally melted down and the boss needs to know. Yes, my work mail is aliased - oh gee, that's six email addresses. I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere....

Kusoyaru - Welcome to gaming hell. Primary reason I frisbeed Azure Dreams was that I had spent virtual weeks trying to build tools up to where they needed to be to advance the storyline to the next step - and then loosing them *totally* when I ran out of hit points. Okay, I can do that once. I can do it twice. Three times. Okay, so I lost count - but I finally threw my hands up and said NO MORE and put the game away.

When I have three weeks vacation with nothing else to do, I'll pick it up again. Read=never.

Bowler - I'm frankly dissapointed with some of the Jackie Chan character designs, but his I think they did well (the lil' kids in particular suffer from bobble-head syndrome, neh?) - and the DVDs they are putting out are actually pretty good values. Now, if you have trouble with fade in, tell a little dialog and fade out to something else within fifteen seconds, this is not for you because not only did they remove all the commercial bumps, they also consolidated about four episodes into one "movie." Normally, this ends up sucking ass, but in this case - which is why I like this series - they held the storyline together with Super Glue. Something I could hand over to kidlets to watch that I would feel like clawing my eyes out in 30 minutes.

I would really love to see what you would have drawn for Jade - honest.

EK - I don't know if you like Jimmy Buffett or not (I get a jones for his stuff like you did for CCR on occasion) - and there was this album cut I stumbled across called Desperation Samba (Halloween in Tiajuana) that in tone -eeeh- somewhat fits. That movie is so different in tone, style and pacing than the television series, no wonder you're struggling - but poo? I doubt it. *sees new post* Yup. You'll be fine. There's something to be said for taking a break, neh? Beer. Yah.

I'm going to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego this next weekend - and this time, I promised myself I'd do it with colored pencils and Academie pad, maybe even some pastel chalks. Things I used to work with. It's not going to be Painter or Photoshop, but if anything better than poo shows up, you'll be the first to see it.

I loved the sketch you did of the guy on the plane - I've been so tempted to do the exact same thing, except everyone has been wide awake and staring at me - so, heh, fergit it.

    Oh, and the title reference?

Suffice it to say, if it happens again...someone is walking home.
  • I like Chinese.... 2002-04-27 23:47:34 And Indian food too - but poor Mr. Midwest just struggled through the entire meal. First thing out of his mouth leaving - "HOT!!!"

Friend/co-worker was turning 40 this year - and his buds threw him a perfect surprise party. Tasty, totally fun - but these are my Hindu programming team, and well...the food was classic Indian cuisine, mostly vegetarian - I love the stuff - but Jim was a total neophyte, to say the least. He's a game duck, but I'm glad we picked up some onigiri at Marukai when we picked up Naren's birthday orchid.

Then we almost crashed when some idiot got told by the CHP to jump out of the carpool lane - and broke glass bottles of apple juice when they slammed into the floorboards. I then sliced a finger picking up the mess - my typing speed is severely impaired. Fuckaduck.

Went to Fry's and displayed exceptional self-control and did not buy the Sony Vaio the boss did -- but I did pick up the next Kenshin DVD (no, I don't have them all yet) - will have to admit the rapid changes between angst and slapstick won't be to everyone's taste - but we like it.

We've also decided that Justice League sucks ass -- and we wish more people knew how well the Jackie Chan Adventures were written and rip them off instead. Sounds lame, but it's rare to find an animated series written as tightly as Cowboy Bebop - but when you find it, it's always a delight.

Wonder sometimes if leaving my video ideas between my ears is the best thing to do - cheap, always perfectly timed and I don't have to submit them for approval.

I want to learn Premiere. I want to be able to use Photoshop...
