JOURNAL: kyburg (Donna Hutt Stapfer Bell)

  • Anime Expo 2002-07-08 13:10:38 I am doomed to never see a AMV contest.

Wonder how long that sign out front of the Terrace Theater is going to stay upside down.

Con report over at Live Journal later today.

I've asked the con committee in past years if they wanted help. They didn't.

    My take -

There was no reason the whole show could not have been in the can one week before the show, and the disks locked in a safety deposit box.

If I ran it - that would be the first change made. End subject. All rules, all deadlines, all everything would be based on that statement made above.

    Sheesh.
  • OUT 2002-07-03 02:53:02 Not feeling good was an understatement.

Off work today, likely tomorrow and won't make dinner at Rock Bottom.

    Bad Lucky Fairy strikes again.
  • Not feeling good 2002-07-01 13:03:12 I hate starting my busiest day of the week like this.

Spent yesterday driving out to Palm Springs in the middle of the day - without A/C in the car. Used to do this all the time, took all the precautions I could...but spending two to three hours in 109 degrees is still two to three hours staring into a blast furnace.

Today, my body is rebelling and I didn't get enough sleep - had friends in over the weekend, and when that happens, one doesn't sleep enough.

    Oh, well.

I have to echo EK again - I've been avoiding the forums here like the plague - yelling and screaming and name-calling isn't my strong suit and I dislike it intensely.

    So there.

I will be at Rock Bottom in Long Beach Wednesday at 7:00 PM - hope to see you all there.

  • Something new has been added. 2002-06-24 16:56:54 Car transmission decided now was a good time.

    $1700.00.

    Step down.....
  • Movies, movies, movies... 2002-06-23 12:23:50 EK - 0_0!! (So, are you coming or what?) What do you attribute this craziess to? When Pioneer tried to send Armitage III to the theaters, they had a huge premiere thingie all set up and everything...and at the last minute, cancelled the lot.

*sigh* And then they readied Akira for re-release.

Missed Spiderman, but got Lilo & Stitch in last night. Waiting to hear about it from you and Bowler...2-D, but plenty of CGI - remember those wonderful watercolor backgrounds from Pinochio? They're back. In very cool palettes, except for the water, which is clear, smooth paint on acetate again.

A kick-ass script doesn't hurt either. And no dumbass music - unless you count all the Elvis stuff. Me, I like covers, but Elvis can go ahead and leave the building, already.
