OMFG!

Yep! Another entry.
I looked around and realized that hardly anyone really uses these journals on a regular basis. I suppose it makes sense. I mean, does anyone actually read these things? I doubt anyone reads mine. After all, aside from the video that will eventually be in the next AMV Hell, I don't have a single AMV to my name on the org.
But, I'm still working on remedying that.
Is "remedying" a word?
Anyway, I have continued to do marginal work on my untitled Beck AMV. I converted all of the episode for my editing pleasure and I got the general plan laid out in terms of the video's organization. I've decided that it will focus on Koyuki's passion for music and Maho. It should follow his progression as a guitarist/singer and the progression of his relationship with Maho and how those progressions intertwine with his own inner desire to live a life of determination and passion. I think I'll use the character Eddie's quote about the guitar in the beginning before the music plays. It may be cool. Who knows? At this point practically everything is conceptual.
The only thing that I've really done was get the most important clip. I wanted to make sure the quality of that clip would be satisfactory. If it wasn't, I would have forgotten about the project. That's how important that clip was. It came out fine, despite the distortion that took place after removing the subs. I wish I had access to the RAW episodes.
I will probably extract more clips next week. This week is far too busy for me. Next week on the other hand is Spring Break. I won't have much else to do. Plus the deadline for Anime Boston is early April, so I gotta get crackin'.
I'm also pondering clever ways to include "ASIC" into the video. Just for a second or two, but I want it to pop in there somewhere. After all, if it weren't for the Anime Society of Ithaca College, I never would have heard of Beck. Plus they offer me much-needed criticism.
In other news, Jihaku is a freaking awesome video and in my opinion deserves the VCA for Video of the Year.

So yeah, I thought I'd start using this journal thingy.
...
Um...
Oh yeah! I started my second AMV! I felt that since my first one was good enough to get into AMV Hell, I must be doing something right, so why not keep on doing it?
The one I'm working on right now isn't a comedy one though. It is going to be pretty serious.
It crossed my mind that the Jimmy Eat World song "A Praise Chorus" fits the anime "BECK" pretty well. I mean, they're both about rock and roll, about doing something with your life, about believing in yourself, and about enjoying your youth.
Then I checked the org to see if it had been done. I found out it wasn't, but then I found out that there were hardly any BECK AMVs at all. I really enjoyed BECK, so I decided that it needed to be done.
So I've begun planning it out. I'm pretty excited about it. I've been working on perfecting this effect I want to use for the beginning. I don't want to make the video too effects-heavy, but if I think it could be strong without the effects and if I think the effects make it even cooler, then I'm going to go with it. Anyway, the effect I want to use is making the screen ripple in sync with cymbal hits. I want it to be subtle and quick or I won't use it, but I think it can be done.
I guess as I keep working on it, I'll make updates here.
Not that anyone will ever read this. That is, unless I become uber-famous. But that only happens to a handful of lucky geniuses each year and I doubt I can be that good.
Of course, it would be cool to come back in five years, read this, and laugh because I did become uber-famous. But that's probably just wishful thinking.
...
Or is it?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *cough*
