Wasting time before class....
2003-02-11 12:57:01
Okay, it's been quite a few days since I've gotten any progress on my "Liquid Petals". I had about 30 secs of new footage that I thought was REALLY good, but I was clipping the last clip just a bit becuase it started a tad to early, and premiere crashed. Luckily I hadn't saved anything, and completely lost about 2 hours of what I think was my best editting ever. I hadn't been able to get up the motivation since that crash to go back and re-edit that part back out. I'm not trying to sound conceited, but it looked and flowed so well. It was my favorite little section of editing I have done. Right about the part before the second chorus of "Onyou no Yume" when I did the section of Akari and Kris grabbing hands. I loved that little part. Ofcourse I'm quite proud of my opening of "Shinkakuruu" which I also thought was quite nice...
Now I'm just bragging on myself, which I don't really like to do so I'm going to go before I fill all your heads with thoughts that I'm some conceited edittor with WAY to high self-esteem...

This entries are far to infrequent....
2003-02-06 19:59:36
It's so hard to stay consistent with school and work all. I used have daily journal entries. Now they seem to be monthly, if that close together...
I did manage to get a new vid started, kinda. I can't really call it a 'new' vid since it's been done before. Yes, it's been done, and done VERY well. Now, I'm trying my hand at it. I've wanted to remake this video basically ever since I first saw it. The concept is so good that I just can't resist. I'm making my own version of MJ's 'Liquid Petals'. I do have his full permission to go ahead. I didn't just steal his idea without asking first. I'm not that much of a newb. It's not just a straight copy either. I'm taking the same song, anime, and basic idea, BUT I'm doing it in my style. All of MJ's vids have that MJ mood about them. That mood that worked so well in 'Liquid Petals', and made the vid what it is is the same mood that I'm taking out, and replacing with a DD mood, if I have my own mood yet...^_^; I think I can do it. The concept is so good, no matter who you are, it will make your vid all that much better. I only hope to come up with a concept of my own one day as good as this one. And perhaps some former frequent, now rare amv.org member will remake mine, much the same way that I am...
I was going to wait until it was done, and get MJ's approval before releasing anything, which I still will before I upload the completed vid. Until that day comes though, here is the first 1:08 of Liquid Petals (DD STYLE)

<sighs>Stupid Lain...
2003-01-01 21:26:16
How's that Lain MAD coming you ask...
Not too good...
For some reason the ripped files will not show up in DVD2AVI. I just get an empty black screen that's about 3 secs long. I got this with every VOB from all 4 Lain discs. Hmmm.....
So I guess it just wan't meant to be. Now then, I guess I will just have to use Key in place of Lain in my MAD. I have the last DVD of Key on order, and it should get here fairly soon. Then perhaps I can get to work on my project. Of course the spring semester starts in 6 days, so I don't suppose there is any way I can get it done before then....
Other than that, I've been playing Everquest just about constantly since late yesterday evening. Pretty my non-stop if you take away the 8 hour work shift today. I am Mizukai, the High Elf Enchanter. I'm at level 2 right now, but that's okay. It's a long way to the top, but I will get there...
Then everyone shall kneel before me...^_^

So they weren't lying after all....

I'll have you a review up for your 25 sec Mis. Imp. vid here in a day or two Omni. Consider it your Christmas present from me...^_^;
I just watched the first DVD of Trigun. Got it through Netflix this morning. It was VERY good. Alot better than I ever thought it would be. I should have taken your word way back when you told me to get it, Silver_Moon...^_^;
Now I have the 2nd DVD of Key, and the first DVD of GTO to watch. Both of which I own. I watched Trigun first, becuase I will have the other two forever(hopefully). I'm a bit behind in my anime right now with these 10 hour work days I've been putting in. I work 9 hour days tomorrow and Monday, and a 8 hour day Christmas Eve. Then I will be able to get working on Unite!!.
Working in a mall during the Christmas season is rough. It gets so hectic, plus having to park on the other side of mall sucks. It's not so bad when you get there because you can just walk straight through the mall. 30 minutes after closing, the mall's doors get locked, and if I'm not done counting out and everything by then I'm stuck walking all the way around the outside of the mall. It's only happened once so far this season though. Damn lagging customers making us stay open late...^_^;;;;;;;
I'm off to try and dl the next couple eps of Trigun, and possible some Kanon. I'm curious as to how these MADs using Kanon will be after I've seen some of the series...

Late Night Ramblings With Your Friendly Neighborhood DD...
2002-12-19 23:22:07
I have to leave for work in 8 and a half hours. I should get some sleep. Too bad I can't. I was just in bed for an hour, and could not fall asleep, so here I am....
I need to get to work on ripping some Lain images. That might get me tired enough to go to sleep. I have to work everyday except the 30 and 31 of the next 2 weeks. So, I need to get all my video, and images ripped by those 2 days, and hopefully I can get my background video track done by then too. That way I can spend those 2 complete days working in the images over the background track, and finish my vid before the new year. Unite!! is on the way, and this one I will finish, unlike my last 2 attempts. That is my pre-new year's resolution......
Okay, I just yawned. That's a good sign, perhaps I will be able to get some sleep after all....
Just to toss this out in the open. I have really no plans on doing it, but I think it would be pretty cool. A parody of Kevin Caldwell's 'Engel', using Lilo and Stitch. I can see it working out pretty well, and being pretty funny. I CAN NOT lip-synch, so I couldn't really do it, but I think it's a pretty good concept just to think about doing. Who knows, perhaps I will follow through with it, AFTER Unite!! is done...
