Woes of the Wig/Bad Alexiel/ Soap and water don't mix.

Ok...So...Lyn and I decide to pull out our AS costumes for this weekend at the photoshoot, she will be Setsuna, I will be Alexiel (New outfit sorta! XD) but of course that means I need to bring out.....the wig.
Yes, the wig that cost me $40, the once in decent condition long brown wig that has endured so much abuse since Anime Festival Orlando. Yes everyone, the Alexiel wig.
So...I take a look at what have become some very tight dreadlocks, shrug, and start brushing, er, so I thought...
Let's see, I read somewhere that if you squirt a little soap and water onto the hair and shake the knots out. Piece of cake right? Yeah, for about half the wig and an hour of work. Then I found it. IT...The mother of all knots, the Queen of Rats in the Nest...IT was the bulk of the trouble at AWA. IT caused the rest of my wig to bunch up and get caught on my chains, IT had to die...
Shake, squirt on soap and water, brush, comb, watch hair bunch up more. Repeat. Ok, this was going no where really fast. So I figure, well, Alexiel has this one style blah blah blah, I can do this if I blah blah. (Note that I have absolutely no knowledge in wig care or styling, I'm still a beginner.)
Well, needless to say...It didn't work and got worse. So...I went back and smoothed it over the best I could. Then I went down to the bottom and trimmed off a few inches (somewhat unevenly unfortunately.) So now I have an unevenly cut rather fluffy looking long brown wig with a huge tangle on the right side. Great.
Now, Alexiel's hair is supposed to be MESSY, but this is an overstatement, and blatantly my fault for throwing it in a bag after AWA and leaving it there until just a few weeks ago, and of course, putting it in the braid after AFO really separated it. Oy, the mistakes of an amateur. I now have it in my room along with my 2 other wigs up on wig stands. Inflatible wig stands for that matter...The mind boggles. *_*
Anywho, the lesson we have learned is: Don't leave things in the fridge, er...Don't mistreat your wigs, they will always get you back in the end.

I have another hour until class starts so I'm stuck in the library for a few. Actually, I think I'm going to go into the lounge and get something to eat and mingle with the freshmen that find vending machines a work of God. Little do they know that they are actually the work of Satan...Especially at this school.
God, Ickle firsties get on my nerves, I hope I was that bad last year. -

It's a quarter to 8 on a Thursday morning...My class isn't until 1pm. But, in order to conserve gas, my roommate wanted me to be up early and get dragged to school 4 hours ahead of time. Now, I'm showered, dressed, made-up, and ready to roll...Yes she is still in bed.
Do you see the irony in all of this??
