JOURNAL: Patches (Patches )

  • Go, my gel airplane! 2002-10-23 17:01:48 Waaaah! Stupid cable! The school's cable provider decided to go digital, so now we have to pay $20 a month for a cable box in the room if we still want cable. Noooo, give me back my Cartoon Network!

Go see "Spirited Away". It's fun.
  • I'm a legal progeny 2002-09-29 23:51:38 Took down "Dilandau: Bringer of War" to make room to upload "Hungarian Smackdown" so that you may once again get a look at "random acts of timing".

Gods, that video still scares me. Why? WHYYYYY?
  • Kanshasuru... 2002-09-07 18:56:00 That was completely random. After viewing all the Final Fantasy Unlimited music videos available for download, I thought to myself, "Hey, I wanna make one!" So, uh, I did.

Four hours and no sleep later, the result of my toils has been posted in the obvious place. Okay, so for a four-hour video, it's not a work of technical genius, but it's also less that two minutes long. And, as anyone who's seen my "Hungarian Smackdown" video should know, I have really weird luck with timing that just sorta happens. So, it's still got quite a few moments of solid timing, but half of them were freebies.

Blah de dah, I wanna draw on an oekaki board. But I stink at drawing with a mouse. Too bad my stylus tablet broke in the move to school.

    Slurp.
  • I am now officially disturbed beyond recognition 2002-05-06 21:34:07 ::twitch twitch:: So I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the video gaming community. Sure, I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, but since FFX just came out, I don't really expect any other important Square-related news for another six months or so.

But then there's Kingdom Hearts, which will be making its way to American shores sometime this fall. I'd first heard of this game a few months ago, and saw some random screen captures. Yes, it's the collaboration project between Squaresoft and Disney. The style looks like Final Fantasy VIII meets Mickey Mouse. Which is pretty much what it is.

    Moreso than I originally thought.

I thought it was just another one of Square's titles, and it happened to have a similar style to a couple of the FF games. I thought it was a stand-alone title with some Square-made human characters and a plethora of Disney ones.

I stopped thinking that once I saw the picture of Cloud hanging out with Hades.

Yeeesss... This game appears to feature the return of a variety of the Final Fantasy characters as well, completely with voice acting this time. Included in what I saw were older versions of Cloud, Squall, Cid Highwind and Yuffie, and younger versions of Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie. Although I'm curious to know what kind of voices they'll pick for the FF7 and FF8 characters, this is still just really... weird. I'm even more morbidly curious to see this game now.

But listening to clips of Donald and Goofy speaking in Japanese just amused me beyond anything. They actually sound pretty much the same as their American originals, just speaking a different language (Donald especially. Actually, Donald is apparently voiced by Kouichi Yamadera, better known as Spike Spiegel).

This game sounds so corny, it might actually be good. Plus, it'll be an added bonus to see some old favorites from previous Final Fantasies back in action (although I doubt any of them are playable characters. Actually, Cloud might even be a villain, from his looks. He's at least a clothing thief. Give Vincent back his cape, arm, and wing, you spikey-headed whiner!).
  • ?????????? 2002-04-04 12:14:57 Words to live by, that subject line is. I couldn't think of enough to say in Japanese, so I decided to stick with English for the main body of this thing. Heh, my two years of Japanese are failing me. Foo. Ah well. At least I can still write it some.

I have homework, but I don't wanna do it. Does anyone here feel like analyzing the operating conditions of pumps for me? Fluid mechanics really aren't my thing. I was better off with the circuits and motor section. Heck, even the spring and damper systems were a piece of cake. But nooo, now we've gotta get into weird nonlinear stuff.

Er, that doesn't really concern anything, does it? But what's it supposed to concern? I am just rambling, after all.

And homework still calls. I'll put it on hold. Yessir, I'm gonna make my homework sit there and listen to oldies music while I ignore it! That'll teach it to call me when I'm in the middle of something less important! So ha!

... Ah, I'm not even convincing myself. Yes, homework, I'm coming.
