JOURNAL: MajinZero

  • Goodbye Escaproject, hello new project 2003-07-19 20:39:18 Trashed my Escaflowne amv project. period. Lack of motivation for now.

I have, however, managed to join a multi-creator amv project, known as AniMix. Part I is already complete, part II nearly done, and I just joined in time for part III. I'll have a thirty-second run with Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service, so it shouldn't be too hard. Simply a matter of experimenting, and deciding what will ultimately fit in. I'll start tomorrow, by reviewing somewhat general-specific areas of the two movies, and listen to the music clip about thirtythousand times ^_^

I'm still hating the economy.....damn job market......
  • Dragging on... 2003-07-03 03:09:02 Nothing much really got done today. My house was chaotic with guests and such, so I hung out with my friend simply returning books for money and then having random conversations over a variety of topics.

Got Frozen Throne yesterday. Good stuff. Single player, so far, is somewhat dissapointing, in that the campaigns don't connnect as much as I'd like them to, and some levels are rather repetetive. Still, the cinematic scenes are cool, and there's always multiplayer. Do more of that tomorrow.

Ok, as long as my house remains quiet and with as few people as possible around, I'll get to work on my amv, bit by bit. It'll be a bit more "random" than I usually do vids (in other words, I'd usually plan out nearly every scene, section, etc, of the vid, but in this case, I'll simply put in clips that go with the overall mood and hope to arrange them as best as I can, so that they don't stand out too badly).

Shameless, random plugging ^_^ I just figure I could use an extra opinion or two on my last project, if anyone is kind enough :)
  • Struggle on... 2003-07-01 00:30:16 Aye, my amv is struggling, yet I'm gonna go ahead and continue through it. I did manage to fit in some ckips into the project so far, and have a general idea of what kinds of clips I'll put in, although they'll be somewhat random the first time through that the entire timeline is full. I'll then proceed to rearrange things and perhaps replace some clips, and see how it turns out. Besides, finding the right music for another project isn't very easy, not if you wanna try something remotely original....

I WAS supossed to go see T3 tonight, but unfortunately, the damn theater constantly changes its policy (or rather, the company that owns the theater), and employee screenings won't be occurring the night before the opening. Now that blows...damn capitalist swine...

ah, tomorrow is a day of joy, for it is the street release date for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, a game that already went Gold from pre-orders two weeks ago or something like that ^_^ Having been a beta tester, the gameplay itself won't surprise me too much, since it's basically the same as the very lst beta patch. Still, can't wait to play out the single player campaign, and attempt to climb the battle.net ladder with all the newbs that'll be flowing from all over the place. Heheheheh......

  • Squares go into the circle shaped hole..... 2003-06-27 23:59:26 Oy, after trying to work with this amv, I've found that the song I'm using doesn't fit Escaflowne as well as I thought it could. Perhaps I'll just trash the project for now and try something else. It's rather annoying to hit the same "Dead end" wall repeatedly and not find a way around it.

Reading the first half of "Shadow Puppets" by Orson Scott Card was somewhat boring and dissapointing considering the other books of the Ender series, and as close as I got to giving up on the book being any good, it finally picked up some action and plot.....well, there doesn't seem to be anything really epic about it, except maybe acting as an epilogue to the "Bean saga." Still, it's becoming quite enjoyable....Card is a genius when it comes to portraying political situations in the future that seem as if they really will happen.....

More work tomorrow, and monday. At this rate, I might actually make enough money from this job to buy a computer for college....
  • GAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! nuts! 2003-06-25 19:10:22 I hate it when you enter type something into the journal, accidentally press enter, try to click cancel, then go back, only to find an empty shell....oy...

Lazy summer days. Watched dub of Hellsing in the last three eps cuz I felt like it....Goddamn, Crispin Freeman is GOD when it comes to both living up to the standards set by the original VA of Alucard, as well as finding his own style to it. The rest of the cast also does an excellent job at it.

Didn't get anything done today in terms of my amv. I thought I'd dive into the project for several hours one of these summer days, but both procrastination and lack of a few sources (Escaflowne DVD #4-7) slows it down. The fact that my concept isn't quite solid yet and somewhat dependant on the source clips I get also doesn't help too much. I'll just take it nice and slow, and then dive into it all once the editing starts stacking up together.

I went to a gathering at my friend's house yesterday to watch MST3K as well as a few episodes of Family Guy on dvd ^_^
