sleeeeeeep.....................
2002-04-06 11:19:27
i just got back from spending the night at my parents house in the middle of nowhere. and man oh man do i need to sleep. my parents have 4 cats that stay in the house and 4 more outside. i couldn't sleep worth a damn. and the fastest computer in their house is an old P166, so doing anything computer related was out of the question. i ended up spending my time watching TV and eating. my brother was supposed to come home with me and spend the weekend at my apartment, but my parents decided that he should stay elsewhere(Thank god!). now the rest of my weekend will more than likely consist of cleaning my apartment, working on my Higher video, and A LOT of sleep.

good try, but......

DD: that sentence would be "meh, this video's going to put me to sleep"(the meh meaning "wow this is boring" or something along those lines). 'meh' is rarely used as a term to describe objects, mostly for describing events. the only way you could use 'meh' to describe an object is if you used it in a response to a question. example:
"this is a pretty good movie isn't it?"
"meh"
keep trying though. you are getting better at it.

well the beginning of my last post was quite a contradiction. you CAN use meh in response to a greeting, but not as a greeting. sorry for the mix up.

meh, pretty good.............

you're getting better DD. but 'meh' cannot be used as a response to a greeting. eg: "how are you doing?" "meh"
"how was your day?" "meh"
that sort of thing. meh cannot be used to substitute a single word, but only an entire phrase. and the phrase cannot be positive in nature. 'meh' is basically a negative phrase meaning 'bored' or 'bad' or 'i don't care'. but it cannot be used in the centre of a sentence. only on it's own or at the beginning or end of a sentence.
eg: "meh, i don't know."
"not really sure, meh"
"meh"
i guess this could be called a quick lesson in the basic uses of the word 'meh'. keep trying though. you did however discover the exception to the rule: "your day sounded a little more meh than mine". that is one of only 3 exceptions to the rules of use. good job.
