    FIXING THE COMPUTER!

    ***Warning!! The following is probably the most boring thing you'll ever read***

    we feel asleep at about 7am and woke back up at 2:20p to continue repairs. first of all, opening my mom's comp was just nasty. she obviously hasn't taken care of this baby as it was covered in cobwebs and even had two dead moths inside and a spider (still alive). Time to bust out the air guns. After we were able to see what was going on in there i discovered a lil fact: she doesn't have four Harddrives like we thought. it's just one partitioned into four parts. no wonder my brother's screw up ruined the whole damn thing.

    btw: my little brother installed a program that is supposed to "stop all those programs from opening on startup" or so he says. al i can see is that it deleted all the drivers for half the hardware (videocard, modem, ethernet, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM etc...) this is why he's been locked out and banned from my baby. he can'y come w/in 500 feet of this comp or i WILL hurt him.

    so, back to the problem, we tried just removing the drive and putting it as a slave on my comp however i have win2000 prof. and it kept getting confused since she has win98 still. so we just reloaded the drivers using my CD-ROM and it still didn't work. time for phase two.

    since i didn't want to lose my last three months of work in premiere, there was no way in hell i was going to let them just erase the whole harddrive and reinstall Win98. so we took the drive and hooked her up as a slave to frank's comp. since he just got a new 80G harddrive, we moved all of my work and files to a folder there. (i only have a tiny lil 8G comp) so we erased the whole drive and tried to reinstall Windows.

    all hell breaks loose. the CDROM doesn't want to recognise itself. doesn't want to read anything. and the comp is still trying to open Windows (before it's installed) and says it can't because the files are missing. well no shit. This is quite the pain in the ass. Finally after going through lines of commands and fiddling w/ random shit frank decides to just wingit, type in the imaginary "G" drive that the floppy had created. so here's what solves it all in a matter of seconds G:/SETUP that's all. Now we have Win98 back on the comp and farnk had to go to work.

    Time to reinstall all the programs. what fun. ^o^ well, atleast i can get back to that Perfect Blue MV. Finally! 
  • now i can see clearly with my beer goggles off. 2002-03-10 09:14:19 woooooo... that was a fuuun night. day. whatever.

    I saw my best freind Kat that I hadn't seen in what feels like forever. We went to SeaWorld yesterday with a group of friends (Charlie, Ryan, Dionn, and Tall Guy) I forgot the other guy's name. oops. It was pretty fun. After we learned all the happiness that can come from a theme park sponsored by Anheuser Busch. ^o^ They have a place near the shark tank called the "Anheuser Busch Hospitality House". Here we each recieved two free samples of any beer owned by the company. yay! what a way to kick off the morning.-_^ after some rides and shtuff i had to *groan* leave and go to work.

    And theeeeen... After work she called me up and we all went out to Joe's Volcano for the spring break bash. woo hoo! Clubs can actually be fun if they aren't empty. this time we all went AND frank was even convinced to go. I got to try out my new "glowstick" earrings and my friend Charlie hooked me up with some sticks on string so i could knock people unconcious. -_^ nah... i didn't hurt anybody. after a few more Bacardi Silvers (i'm hooked now. damn Seaworld brainwasher) I was just standing in the corner dancing with a friend and watching frank and charlie play pool. yeah that was a great night. now i hafta go back to work.
