Chapter Two: A Poem and A Friend
2006-01-06 12:06:59
I soon entered vampire territory. Inhaling the thick scent of weak, young, new fledglings I chuckled and continued on. The wimpy vampires were nothing to me! Just insignificant specks of death. A small cafe soon grew in the distance, perfectly centered in my view. It seemed to call to me. Pulling me in, drawing me toward it.
I entered slowly, cautiously. A wave of power exploded upon my face, as blood rushed to my cheeks. The sudden burst seemed to stop my heart. Collecting myself, I shoved my hands deep in my pockets and continued into the dark, gloomy cafe.
A young woman stood atop the stage, softly reciting a poem. Her voice was so faint, so unsure. Stopping by the bar, I shot her a warm encouraging smile. She saw the smile and her voice rose louder with confidence and she soon finished.
She was a lovely young thing, soft pale skin, long, flowing auburn hair. And her eyes shimmered with an unknown light. Strange, with the vampiric aura that surrounded her. She floated gracefully from the stage and headed toward me.
It was at this instant that I noticed a crimson haired woman sitting in a dark corner beside a young man. Her eyes were gleaming red. The wicked eyes followed the poet as she came up to me. Suddenly our eyes connected. A burst of power shot in my direction.
"Thanks, your smile made me feel much better."
The girl's sweet voice broke our death glare. I reverted my attention to the smiling, bright girl.
"I'm glad I could help."
She took a seat at the bar and I helped myself to the one beside her. My eyes wandered back to the retched eyes, but by now she had faded away. I searched desperately, but soon realized even her aura had disappeared. Where could she have gone?! I knew I had to keep my eyes open for-
"By the way, my name is Jeanenne"
"Huh, oh...hi...I mean I'm Emily."
I took her outstretched hand and shook it warmly. Jeanenne began babbling about her poem as I tuned her out. My eyes floated around the room, looking for anyone that seemed interesting. But none of the characters caught my attention.
Suddenly, my eyes landed upon a dark, mysterious figure. Dark, shadowed glasses hid his eyes from the world. A dark brown hat was pulled tightly over his sandy blonde hair. A faded, black, hooded sweatshirt sat limply on his shoulders creating a bad boy look. He was leaned back in his chair with his feet lazily propped up on the table, a mug of dark red liquid beside his feet. I knew what it was but I didn’t wanna think about-
“Emily?!”, Jeanenne’s soft voice broke my thoughts once again.
“Huh? What?”
“You should do some poetry!”
“Oh, you think?”
“Yeah, go ahead.”
I smiled, somewhat concerned about me being a shape shifter. Vampires didn’t much ‘favor my kind. And the café was full of the beasts. My aura had yet to be noticed now, but most were weaklings. If all their attention was focused on me they probably would know. So, I shifted my aura to human. After signing up I waited with Jeanenne until my name was called.
As I walked up to the stage I realized I was completely unprepared.
I took my place before the microphone and gazed nervously over the crowd. Some were human, some vampire and one or two lycans.
I could feel the many vampire’s hungry glare watching me. There were so many, so many all at once. It was stifling. I felt as if I was suffocating. Then my frightened eyes fell upon the darkened man. He was now sitting up, more aware. His dark eyes pierced holes in my throat. My heart pounded, but not in fear, in lust. A faint smile slowly crept onto his face, and I was filled with confidence. Slowly, but surely I started.
“Reality,
Harsh, true,
Painful is the reality,
Painful is the torture,
The torture humans cause,
Humans,
Beasts that ravage the planet,
Beasts that take over everything,
Humans are a virus,
Destroying all.”
There was a silent and horrible delay. It seemed to stretch out for years. The bright lights burned through my body as sweat dripped from every pore. A small applause began, slow, unsure…and soon dissipated. I cautiously returned to my place at the bar. Jeanenne was smiling her bright smile.
“You’re creepy.”
I burst out laughing.
“Gee, thanks.”
Then I noticed the crimson haired woman at the door. Her eyes beckoned toward Jeanenne. Looking back, Jeanenne jotted out an address on her napkin and handed it to me. She ran off toward the woman as she waved at called to me.
“Come by some time!”
I looked at the address and smiled a little. Maybe she was a lowly vampire, but at least I had some sort of a friend.

Chapter One: The Introductions and the First Meeting
2006-01-04 12:14:18
The night air was thick with the scent of blood and the feeling of death. The dark aura shot through the shadowed alleyways of New York's streets, and radiated from a single source. Her burnt red hair shone cruelly in the noon's dim light as she strolled away from her limp, dieing prey. She whistled joyously in mere amusement. Lapping up the excess blood that now trickled down her chin, she whispered lightly to herself.
"What a beautiful night. The perfect night to hunt...", Her evil, smooth voice echoed through the abondoned alleys. Soon her brightly colored lips twisted into an inhuman sneer, which grew to a chuckle, which grew to a laugh. And as she laughed her teeth gleamed vicously. Which a sudden burst of light her body shifted into the form of an ebony raven as she soared into the sky. Her laughter still filled the once silent night. Leahanna, the vampire, was on the prowl.
Ashley had been walking for some time now. She glared at each human as they trudged by her. She would dig deep into their subconcious, learning some of their darkest secrets. She could feel the fatigue wash over her. ashley hadn't eaten in days.
She was the picky type. Her prey had to be fun. She always toyed with them a bit. And they had to deserve it. She rarely aimlessly tortured people. It was a waste of life, and time. She would mess with their emotions in the best way fit for their personalities. She wanted an amusing meal, and that's exactly what she always expected!
Finally she searched out the mind of a man who deserved her torture. His head was filled with horrible sins he had commited. Things he had done to undeserving innocent people. She had found dinner!
Ashley's long golden hair twirled lightly in a nonexistant breeze. She bat her brimming hazel eyes in the man's direction. He grinned cruelly. He had taken the bait and was now heading over. Ashley saw all the things he was imagining what he would do to her. He was on the huny, but he would find more than he had expected.
The shimmering pond rippled out in perfect sinc with Jeanenne's pale, delicate feet. She kicked them gently in turn. Left, right, left, right. Her body swayed getnly as she began leaning forward slowly and gazed at the sirface of the water. She searched, and searched in desperation but didn't find what she needed to see. Her reflection.
Since the day she was turned Jeanenne regretted it. She missed her perfectly tan skin. She missed the sun. She missed her innocence. But most of all she missed the ability to see herself. She had no reflection, and a camera could not capture her image. She was so alone.
Jeanenne wasn't vaine or anything, quite the oppisite. There was just something that calmed her about seeing herself. It was almost a way of knowing she truly was real, she truly was alive. But that's just the problem...she no longer was alive. And there was nothing she could do about it...
Her beautiful auburn hair cascaded gently over her shoulders. Her brown eyes shimmered beautifuly. They used to shimmer with life, but not anymore. And now she couldn't even see them.
Jeanenne stood slowly, almost sulkily as she softly shook the water from her chalky toes and slipped her feet back into her worn shoes. Looking up into the shimmering night sky, she smiled slightly. Her warm smile remained despite her pained smiles and she hurried back toward the city to her favorite cafe.
I removed my glasses and rubbed sorely between my eyes. The dim light resonating from my moniter was begining to bother me. Looking away from my work I peeked out my window. The glimmering stars shone grandly, as if beckoning to me. I was sore from my chair, and my legs felt rather stiff. A walk would do me good. So I rolled back my leather seat and stood carefully. After a stretch or two I headed out.
My apartment was about six stories up and by the time I got outside I was pretty awake. For New York City at midnight, it was surprisingly quiet. I turned swiftly down an alley and started my walk with no specific destination in mind.
I sooon came upon a young woman that seemed to be in trouble. A large man had her slammed tightly against a wall as he fumbled with her shirt. She struggled and screamed as if attempting to free herself. I lunged forward and dashed up to the two. Slamming an elbow into the man's ribs I freed her from his grip. With a loud grunt he fell to ground and tried scurrying away. I let him go, even though he didn't deserve it. Then turning to chechk if the woman was alirght I was met with a swift angry fist. I stumbled back slight, more in surprise then pain. The girl's hazel eyes pierced through my own as pure rage was directed straight at me.
She stood offensivly her hands stiffly on her hips and her golden hair whipping behind her. I found this odd, with the absence of any wind. I shook off the strange image abd questioned the girl as I grew annoyed.
"Quite rude, don't you think?! You iggnorant wench! Learn to respect others when the aide you. You bloody moron!"
The woman rolled her eyes and growled to herself. Backing way she grumbled a few angry words and faded into the shadows.
"Blasted shapeshifter!"
I sighed and grumbled my own angry words as I continued my aimless trudging.
"Blasted vampire!"

Hi, um...I'm not much of a journal type person. So instead I'll post my ongoing story. My friend and I have made a story about us if we were in a vampire based world. It's interesting and every so often I'll post a little bit of it. So if you're interested enjoy! If not...um...I'm sorry? Well that's all! Thanks for your time!
