  • Spirited Away 2003-03-24 11:13:19 If any in the anime fandom hasn't heard the news by now, shame on you! Spirited Away took the Best Animated Picture Oscar, and, as I'm sure there was elsewhere, there was much screaming and shrieking in my little dorm room.

    <~Is very, very amused and happy.

    My computer is evil. I was in the process of trying to reformat, but it didn't want me to let it format the C drive (I have 2 hard drives), however I *did* manage to lose all my source footage for my current videos. Dammit! I'll have to start on the WHR one again, sonufabitch.

    Well, that's about all. Off to do important-type stuffs, ja ne.

I'm not sure what way's up right now, all I'm aware of is roommate bustling in the background, comfy chair, and monitor. Hell, I probably wouldn't even realize I was typing if not for the words appearing on the screen after I thin about it. o_ox;

    Tonight I work my last night at Marathon. Whee. No more Marathon! *does a happy snoopy dance* Of course, I'll miss the extra twenty bucks a week, but I can cut down on buying shit. I can! I'm not addicted to ebay... *sniffles*

    Spring Break in a week. Maybe I can actually clean off my ninety+ gigs of HD and finally reformat the damn thing. Sarah's named hers Meatwad, I need to name my computer something. It makes life more amusing, I say.

    I need more burnable CDs ... I'm getting close to filling my third partition of the HD with anime again. The first 13 episode of Full Moon wo Sageshite, all of Kanon, all of Saikano, not to mention random Captain Tsubasa 2002, Spiral, Naruto, Kiddy Grade and some weird show... I don't remember. I love downloading and having all this anime ... I need to concentrate, make time and watch it! -_-x;; My goal over this summer is to watch at least fifty or sixty disks of anime ... considering my numbering's gone past 400, it's only a fraction of my CDs but still. I need to really start watching the things I download, and my deprivation from the internet should help a great deal.

    Hopefully I'll get my WHR/Bring me to Life and Chobits/Sugar Sugar vids done. They both have great concepts but I keep running into a wall with the WHR one. That wall is 'the characters stand around and talk a helluva lot'. I know I can get this to work, it's just resisting like bloody a. The Chobits one isn't so much suffering from that as it is the fact that I only have four episodes on my HD right now to work from, and those episodes aren't particularly conducive to this video. 9_9x;

    No class today. Whee. No eight a.m. class tomorrow. Double whee. *spins in a circle in her new chair* So, perhaps I'll get something (fanfic-writing, amv-making, anime-watching) dobe before work tonight? ^__^x I can hope!! 
  • Whee! New Stuff-y stuff! 2003-03-01 14:12:55 Just got back from Hastings, where I picked up more TokyoPop manga. I tell ya, you can't go wrong for ten bucks a volume. Grabbed the first volume of Gatekeepers, which looks like much fun. I've gotten a lot of new manga recently... Rave Master, Rebirth, and now Gatekeepers. Whee. TokyoPop's got a loyal customer, that's for sure. Also grabbed the first volume of MegaTokyo. I was finally able to find it! Yes! I was going to order it from Studio Ironcat...er, I.C.E. Studios (still not used to that... ^^x;;) but this is even better! W00T! And it guarantees it's from the first run, heehee.

    Also grabbed me my first set of d20s. I officially have a set of dice. I think I've crossed into the realm of no return in geekdom. *shrugs* Such is life, I s'ppose. Hit KB Toys as well and found the My Little Pony keychains for like, a buck a piece (as opposed to five bucks a pop at Spencer's) and fufilled my nostalgia by getting all four. Hey, I'm a girl. I'm allowed to have my My Little Ponies. ^___^x;;

    Even if they are the anorexic ones from the second run. Still, I'm a collector first and foremost.

    No .hack//SIGN on Cartoon Network. Must be on a midnight...spam. Well, I'll have to run upstairs after I get off... hopefully they restarted it like Peanut Gallery was babbling and I don't have to worry about missing it.

    So, I'll probably fart around an' clean before I go to work. Maybe capture s'more footage.

    So, here I am, huddled in the midst of the filth that is my dorm room, contemplating what to do next. I really want to finish that AMV, but I'm starting to stall out on it... dammit. It's a good idea and I really like what I've done thus far. I need to force myself to work on it, otherwise it'll fall by the wayside like so many other videos before it.

    If only I counld concentrate *growls* Teeth hurt!

    Last night went decently. Could have gone better...could have gone a lot worse. The thing that cinched the night was when we got to Hellsing. Specfically the 12th and 13th episodes of Hellsing. Two words for ya: Giggly fangirls. I thought Gus was going to kill us all. "Eeeeeee!!!"

    I probably should clean up my room before I attract more roaches. Hey, I know! I think I'll head out to the comic book store today. *eyes paycheck* I could always use new manga, and we haven't been in about a week. ^__^x; Mm. Comic book store, it is. Matane! 
  • Well, fuckin' a. 2003-02-28 16:32:00 So, here I am, huddled in a darkened classroom fiddling on a smartboard dressed disturbingly like Orphen and hiding from Peanut Gallery.

    Wow, that summed up the patheticness that is my life scathingly well.

    I just realized I was dressed as Orphen, too. Or rather Peanut Gallery pointed it out. It started like this: I normally wear cheap bandannas (aka strips of cloth) to keep my long hair out of my eyes. Today was red, because I felt I was wearing too much black anyway. So, red headbandish bandanna. Black jeans. Some weird brownish-beige shirt, and my black vest and black hiking boots. I decided at some point last week I was going to make fingerless gloves, because it sounded cool, so I wore them for the first time today.

    I really need to think about what I'm wearing sometimes. 9_9x;;

    I should go back to my dorm and get my wooden broadsword and sling it across my back. Pretend it's the sword of Baltanders and freak the hell out of people.

    Ah, anime club.

    So, don't have the projector. Why? I have no fucking clue. I wish people would deign to tell the vice president that the projector wasn't reserved, so I wouldn't be at club two hours early and pissed off. Besides the fact that I don't know who's bringing Onegai Teacher... *growls* Ah, well. Jeri <i>is</i> going to Japan the first or second week of April, thank god. So, soon enough, I'll be in charge of the looney bin. Bitchin'.

    So, anyone out there who lives somewhere in Kentucky, you're more than welcome to show up at our meetings. We're at Eastern Kentucky University, in the Case Hall Annex. Fridays from 5:30 to whenever (usually around eleven). Stop by, hang out, make fun of me for unintentionally dressing like an anime character, I don't care.

    The Duo thing is unintentional now.... if I can get someone to brain my long hair, that is. ^__^x;; So I can add Orphen, now...Kiba too. Hell, I would never have noticed that one if Sarah hadn't smacked me. Can I help it if I'm too lazy to take off my coat? 9_9x; Ororooo....

    Probably should go back to the quasi-meeting. After all, I can't leave Peanut Gallery guarding the DVD player. Wish me luck.
