You heard right about comedy. Current idea is to do what AX is doing this year. If there's a bunch of good comedy entries, it might end up being a default comedy category, different in name only, but so long as people keep making genre+comedy videos instead of straight comedy videos, as tends to be the trend, this will have to happen.
