Actually tried to edit for a while yesterday, and was making progress when I realized I hadn't eaten for most of the day. Decided to go out for lunch and ended up agreeing, last minute, to help out with an AAC fundraiser mini-con by running some AMVs. I get to the place with about an hour to set up, realized I apparently rushed over there and, in the process, damaged my playback rig. The system is shot. Won't even boot anymore. We had to scramble to get a laptop running and play what it had on hand while I frantically downloaded other stuff from here as fast as the WiFi would allow. Now, the playback rig was my HTPC - I don't have a cable box - it is my media front end for my living room. So, I have no TV until I can get it replaced or repaired.

I've told Adam he doesn't need it that far out - especially since everything is digital play-back this year (using the FWT rigs from AAC) and we have a automatic title-card generator he can use. I'm guessing the deadline will be pushed up a few weeks.

Need a kick start to start kicking this project...

@Driftroot
You don't want someone that's good at VD - that's how you end up on terrible antibiotics!

On topic:
I'm now holding major responsibilities at work, staffing/judging Sakuracon in March/April, Hosting 6 hours worth of stuff (including Extreme Iron Editor) for Anime Boston in May, Running the ConnectiCon FMV contest in July, and running the AMV department at AAC in October.
Whenever I have free time, actually editing is the furthest thing from my mind. I have a pretty solid idea for my AB entry, but I haven't started anything beyond footage prep, and there's 7 weeks until the deadline (more like 6.5 since I'm going to be on the other side of the country during the deadline period).

Re: prep work - that's really the reason I've never been more prolific too. Thankfully, newer stuff takes less work to look nice... most of the time.
