To be continued...
2003-01-27 19:15:10
Well, this will be my last journal entry from this account. I have altered my profile and video descriptions to express the abandonment of this username. The only time I will again access it, for the last time, will be to include a link to my current one. I will not create the new account until I have a video behind it, so that will take a month or so.
I will under no circumstance login under this name otherwise, and that is something that I'm very firm on. This is no attempt to create multiple accounts to confuse people, it is merely to start fresh with videos that show how a year's absense from the scene has benefited me. It is also to bring consistency to my more common forum login, one that I'm better known for and should have signed up as in the first place.
Just to reiterate, look for "doughboy" as a member starting in March. I will carry on with what I started back in 2001 with this account, only my skills learned during college will be put to better use.
That is all from this guy, I'll see you all again in March. I've got a lot of work to do in order to make that deadline. :)

The End? me thinks not.

Well the semester of displeasure has long been gone and I can now get my ass back in gear. I ended up with a 3.2 GPA for the semester, which is not too shabby. Now in a winter semester that is already soon over, I hope to renew my interest in this community during my final spring semester.
I'm hoping to relaunch soon enough once I get some vids down, so this account will die and a new one will be created once I have some bones laid out to structure my new project. There's always a matter of attaining hosting, which could happen by the time I get 2 vids ready or I could just be thoughtful and donate to the donut. Depends on how long it takes my friends to get the host back, but I'm pretty sure I could put some money down on the donut regardless.
I'm hoping this will all take place in March at the latest, so by then I will no longer access this account and rather my new one under the name "doughboy." Since I only need 12 credits this semester, I should have the time required to reach this objective. All I gotta do is find that love of creating again, and I should be set. That, or I'll get "La Familia" to whoop my ass blue so I can finally put the fun back in editing.
This will be an interesting last semester, but I've got 3 videos qued up to finish this year (1 remaster, 1 new, 1 NES project). Other than that, it's up to me to work hard and finally push myself to get some decent animating done. I'm confident things will work out, so here's hoping I find the inspiration and ambition that college so far has managed to drain thoroughly.
I'm excited for this week, as I get to spend time with 2 high school friends that I haven't seen in a while. One I haven't seen since early last August, but the other I haven't seen since June of 1999. Should be good times, and they should no doubt brighten my spirits. :)

Some hope after all
2002-11-09 00:36:13
System has been reformatted, it now has Win XP on it. So far, so damn good. Lots of odd errors and general annoyances occured when I upgraded my motherboard and refused to move on from good old 2K. Those all seem to have been swept away with a fresh boot of XP, though I've only managed to install some really basic programs at the moment and can't judge for sure. I hope I get along with XP, still trying to figure out what/why they changed about it, but I did have to use an XP machine all summer, so it's not really anything that different.
My video is gone, source deleted, but I did manage to export out what I had and kept the Premiere file just in case I ever wanna take a crack at it again. And, since I was always so damn cryptic about it... it was Soultaker to "Snooze Button" by Snot. When I started it in May, it damn well could have been an entertaining and original video. But now everybody seems to want a shot at a Soultaker vid, which is all the more reason I gave it up. It was a neat project, but that song was so damn complicated, I don't think I was quite ready for such a video.
I also just got word that I may have an opportunity set up for me this summer. I have a "relative-type-person" working for DNA Productions, the studio Nickelodeon pays to do the Jimmy Newtron movies/series that may hook me up with a production assistant gig. That would mean low pay and goafer work, but I'm not exactly complaining. It'd be in Dallas, TX, and sure would be a valuable experience to form some sort of an animation career.
It also appears that my parents are looking to help me out with a place for myself once I graduate, so the homeless bit is all the more less intense. As long as our house in MD sells well, they seem financially well equiped to get me started until I can really start to front the big bills. I soooooooooooooo can't wait to be financially independant. Free money is nice, but I'm not the type that enjoys having to be wined and dined by his parents anymore, I just want to move out and start a future.
School is still annoying though, I gotta try extra damn hard just to pass some stinking electives. College... must... end... I want to work on things damnit! No more taking classes I could care less about and just focus on some animating. That would be delightful.
I should start my NES vid by late Dec and work on it through Jan if I've little else to do... which is likely. That should be a doozy, can't wait to start.
And now, my plans of writing this to tire me out have succeeded... time to sleep.

D`oh, times 50

Well, it's time to put the bullet into everything I do here from now on. I'll still check in on the place frequently, but my video contributions will be quite nonexistent for a while.
My computer, more specifically my OS, is being a pain in the ass right now, requiring a reformat. So, once again, I am unable to complete my long delayed action video as it will have to be deleted with my reformat. No biggy, I learned a crap load in the process of this one, so all experience will translate nicely into future projects. I may even continue it later and release it once I get on my feet again.
The ONLY video you can likley expect from me for a while is my NES Project vid, which I will have a go at once I reformat and periodically work on from now till May. But that won't get out till I get the ok, and certainly depends on if I still have hosting by then.
The main reason for no more videos is that school is kicking my ass right now and I KNOW that I will not have time for anymore videos until I graduate. All my efforts must be placed into producing a short animation worthy to get a bad ass job. I'm quite tired of working for shit pay, and since I just got fucked out of a possible job for this semester, I REALLY need to make sure I'm not homeless once I graduate.
The homeless bit is somewhat of a worry, since my parents are selling my house in MD soon and are moving to their beach house in DE. I'm not one to trek the crap over there and be isolated from possible jobs, so once school is out, I need to make sure I've got some funds to set up a place to live.
So, I've got no time but to finish school, produce a decent short, and the NES vid. Kinda sucks, I have a crapload of vid ideas but absolutely no time for them.
I'll likely start up again with AMVs once I'm out of school, have a place to live, money to support my place, and a decent internet connection. That could be a year from now, but by then I should have a few vids to shell out. I'll work on some right out of school, but it'll take a host and a means of getting to the host before I get to share any.
I'm also likely to change to a new profile under "doughboy" (my other, more prominent online nick) when any of this happens and keep this one up just for completeness of the database.
It's been fun and very educational! Thanks for the downloads, thanks for the reviews, and thanks giving me something to play around with! Catch you all later!

I hate school...
Not only is it going to delay my video far beyond what I had anticipated last time I actually got a chance to edit, but I don't seem to have ANY time from now till mid Dec where I'm actually not gonna be pressured into doing school work.
Things are well, many new ideas pop in my head, but I'm obviously just finding less and less time that I can use towards AMVs due to school. That means I could slip and lag way behind until next May and won't likely have anything finished to show until after that.
So many ideas, no freakin time to work them out. Besides the AMV I've been on since May, now I'm obligated to produce a vid for the NES project. Not that I resent this, but there is so much more that I want to get out first before even starting that.
I just feel I need some more treats in my bucket before sending out something that a crap load of people could potentially see (I have faith that NES will be quite huge). Oh well, guess I best just but a new hard drive speciffically for that vid, give it hell, and then make people wait for something more comparable to it. Sweet Jesus I need a job...
Smeh, time to work on yet another worthless animation project... plenty of those not doing me much good...
