JOURNAL: Red Wolf (Paul Quinnell)

  • Can a Black Cat Cross Your Path on the Internet? 2002-10-30 14:52:13 I left my iBook at work last night to finish a massive download (which failed, thank you) so I was Mac-less for a full 14 hours. Luckily I was unconscious for much of that so I survived.

AMV DC: I got a new CD in the mail yesterday so I'll be adding that to the catalog hopefully tonight. This one is from Iserlohn Productions and it has, among many other great AMVs I'm sure, the Boom Boom track from DDR Project 1. I love that track but I've been too lazy to split it from the DDR VCD.

For some reason I have the feeling my mail box is going to be totally full of CD submissions and requests sometime this week. Hopefully not on Friday because I have a Halloween party I'm going to so I won't get to those until Saturday afternoon =)

NES Project: Got a good list of anime content to look for now. I'll be hitting the rental places first for DVDs this weekend. After that I'll go on the anime buying rampage I have been holding off on since I decided to join the project (gives an excuse for splurging on DVDs). Since this is my first "various" AMV I expect that finding and ripping the footage I want will take most of my time and that editing will go quite quickly after that. Since I'm going to have so many fast edits and already flashy footage I don't think I'll delve into the special effects much (although I still want to combine the game and video some how).

I'm not overwhelmed with things to do (AMV and other) but I have plenty going on this week (and probably next week) so we'll see what I can get done.
  • "Weird Journal" Yankovic 2002-10-28 22:42:11 Finally getting around to going through my Weird Al CDs and ripping them to MP3. It is fun watching my MP3 file increase in size by multiples of hundreds of MB =)

AMV DC: Going to update the site tomorrow morning with the 20th CD's listing, the new request page, and a few touch ups elsewhere on the site. I'm looking for a cool logo (or logo idea) so if you have an idea let me know or feel free to play with Photoshop and see what happens. Naturally full credit would be given to the creator (and maybe some freely shipped CDs as a thank you).
  • Um, Hits? 2002-10-27 19:32:33 I just noticed this. The stats on my two videos have shot up quite a bit since last I checked. I know it has been a few days since I looked at the stats but these changes are quite odd.

Both videos have received about 35 hits total on the new Indirect links (to the DC) since I added the links on Friday. A little high for me but not odd. My Venus video shot up by almost 100 downloads in the last week or so (not sure when I last checked). While odd given its past stats I can over look that. But my Jupiter video shot up by 400 downloads. 400!! WTF!? Did Toonami re-release Sailor Moon while I wasn't looking or what?
  • Lots of Things Done...None of Them AMV Related =P 2002-10-27 18:26:23 Well that's not true. I have gotten a little bit of work done on the AMV DC web site. More on that in a bit.

NES Project: I swear I am going to sit down and start on the research for my video right after this post. I did get the NES today...my sister forgot the blaster, though, so no Duck Hunt for a while *sniff* Does getting my butt kicked by a lot of old games count as NES Project research?

AMV DC: Should have 20 CDs on the catalog by Monday night (maybe early Tuesday). I'm also going to make changes (yet again) to the posted instructions on requesting AMV CDs. Right now everyone is suppose to email me for instructions. Well for every 5 emails I get, only 1 person comes through with a delivered package. So I slim downed the instructions to the basics and am going to have people just send in their requests with their CDs and envelopes. It should both save me from wasting time on emails that won't lead to anything and it will make interested people put their money where their email is, so to speak.

To everyone who has a CD on the DC I will be emailing you this week with the stat tracking system I will have available to all of you so you can see how often your CDs are being requested.
  • "Sugar. Oh, honey honey." 2002-10-26 19:56:40 Got the chance to see Hitori's new video (http://animemusicvideos.org/legacy/video.php?v=11886). I saw it Friday night and have had the song stuck in my head all day long. Thanks, man =P It's okay, I sent him a review/opinion/whatever that is a few pages long for him to read so his head should hurt as bad as mine later tonight.

I was meaning to do some research for my NES video today but so far no good. I had to go shopping (yes, had to) with a friend this morning, finishing cleaning the homestead, and visit some other friends and have dinner with them. Overall a good day but no research done. Maybe tomorrow? I did get a Muppets Take Manhattan DVD free (yes, free) inside a box of Cheerios today so my Sunday morning is already set in stone =) I also have a birthday thing to do with my mom and sister tomorrow so maybe not =(

I need a 20th CD for the AMV DC. Why? I have 19 and I hate odd numbers, that's why. Actually I should have ErMaC's CD available on the catalog by Monday night. I'm getting a lot of "I want every CD" requests so I'm thinking about setting separate guidelines on that. Maybe post actually weight and postage and what not.
