JOURNAL: Tormentor

  • Average quality of videos here... 2006-02-07 13:50:02 Well in the last days I took advantage of my 6/mbit. To my horror I had to see that almost every one of the downloaded videos had a quality that was from soso to sucks, furthermore did I see videos without the slightest bit of sync... man the average is far lower than I feared. Well but that's good for the ones who release videos at optimum quality, and one has a reason to like these videos even more.

Other topic: I have been looking about a douzen times today whether the vca semi-final-votings were available and they still are not... that's unfortunate.

Yet another topic: Up till now noone entered a video in the thread I opened in the op-exchange forum, but it's not like I care, since I am giving this opportunity this time and everybody has to decide by him/herself whether he/she would download my 83mb :blushs:

    Doesn't matter, see you all.
  • I do understand guys, ilke godix and inthesto finally 2006-02-06 09:49:04 Okay spent some minutes reading sammy's journal just right now. Dude that guy is a fuck-head. Okay he uses even more insultings than requiett, but he isn't far that creative. Still I wonder how someone who didn't even write one post on the forum can be so unpopular (okay if one reads the journal, where just everyone is insulted one is able to draw a conclusion). Anyway, all you guys out there vote dedicated to sammy for the best character-profile of this year. It really fits well. I first felt pity with that guy, but now I know every thing is just true.

    Greetings
  • Back 2006-01-18 14:50:49 Hey!
I'm back again after a long abscene. Nothing really interesteing in the vca thread, but still some nice news considering the MEP. Started getting my drivers license. Considering amvs I'm just doing nothing now. Damn, I've got that much work ;_; . Still think of building a very short (1:29) Saikano amv, soon. Have to get the concept finished though. I don't know what I should build for Almelo... 3min is quiet short for a metal song. The Mep is getting forward a bit, but due to Warheart's pc it will take some time to finish it completely (has drain to vomit). I wanted to start with my Rolling Stones project, but lost the will for it since an essential source wasn't able to be captured (VirDub crashes down while importing) and there are some sources whose formats aren't fitting with premiere. Now after my dad bought himself the original album and I heard this version of the song I have to think over the concept again, since the whole song is actually 2min longer than the version i had from a compilation. Another problem is that the lyrics are more difficult to sync that I though. All together everything is problematic, but that'S nothing else than a standard situation.

Now I would like to thank the only person who mentioned me in the vcas as far as I have seen, whose problems are even bigger then mine. Thanks Warheart
  • 1 Year anniversary 2005-12-08 09:39:50 Hi again!

exactely 1 year ago I joined this community. Here a little review of this first year. I achieved quiet a lot of aims. Starting directly after my sign-up I started editing. For the time I didn't finish my video I used this site to give some opinions, although 13 aren't that much... Then I entered the forum and got a whole punch of information and experiences. During some holidays, I joined a multi-editor project with Warheart and T800-101. Unfortunately the quality was too bad to save the project. I still have it on my pc, but I don't think it would be right to present it the audience. Later in summer when I had holidays and none of my pals was at home I started a second video, after I had send my first one to a contest. By the time I started this thing I had 7 before going on holidays. At first I doubted the concept, but then when the boredom was too immense I started using crappy sources and a quiet strange concept for me to work on. After 4 days to my surprise I had the thing finished. Since there still was some time and I was totally unknown in the scene I sent it to the expo of the same contest. after this there was nothing for quiet a time. In September I went to Kassel with Warheart and his brother in order to visit the Connichi-con. I couldn't believe the immense dimension of this thing. We spent nice moments (hours) with the rest of the German scene and then went to see the Amv-contest. I personally was participating in the drama-cathegory, which to my horror was the first one to be presented. By the time after the intro I was shaking of nervousness. The whole thng was shown on a cinema screen. After the inrto of the drama-cathegory there appeared something saying: Nominées. I viewed a video, which was quiet good but not too dramatic for me. Then as second there appeared my name on the screen and my video was shown to a crowd of about 1000 people. By this time I couldn't think clearly anymore. I thought, that all participants were shown. After mine there was a third video, that from the dramatic aspect was so-so, but from the technical point of view it was just great. :" First place is gone." I said to myself after seeing this video and then it suddenly stopped. No other video was shown. I was getting eve more nervous, for me this couldn't be. Then the moderators entered the stage and suddenly they were talking about a shared victory. I couldn't believe my ears and hope grew up in me. Then...:" And the price for an uncommon confession goes to the best newcomer... Bernhard Langers aka Tormentor!" I didn't knew what to do, was I supposed to enter the stage? Should I say something? I didn't know. In the state of my confusion I was already gettin up in order to go there, but then another victor was declared. It was the video that I thought of would dominate. Warheart told me that Zest was the creator of this video. After leaving the hall I received the congratulations of the other German creators I had talked to before. The next point on the agenda was getting to see the best of the rest. All in all it was a great evening afterwards, although we almost had a car-accindent going 220k/mh :sighs: Later that year, I started editing using Adobe premiere. Well after releasing a video thats' reviews were from "I like" it to "wtf were you thinking" I realized what it meant ot work with this program. At the moment I'm working on my Demons Within part, which will be done during the next holidays.

Now a little view to 2006:

I'm planning to create a video liker Tyler's Jihaku or Sierra-Lorna's In my mind using a song of the Rolling Stones. Furthermore I will participate at 2 contest and build some more non-effect drama-videos.

    Thanks for your attention, bye.
  • Time I need you. 2005-11-18 10:57:22 Well today I finished my Demons Within part. I just need to get it exported which might become difficult, since premiere just stops after a certain amount of frames, but I'll handle this. Guess I won't have any time for relaxing in the next weeks and months. School just sucks, and the view to get started with an amv for a con in spring for which I'll try to use 2 programs that are completely new to me doesn'T make me cheer up either. At least I've got weekend now. Hopefully the other "Demons" finish their parts proper and fast, so that the project as a whole comes to live. Going ofline now. Hopefully I get some reviews for the topic I started in the general amv forum. But hey the greatest thing about today was the op I received. Gonna be online again on monday, so far so good see you.
