  • An entry just for the sake of it... 2005-11-25 20:08:44 Hmmm... This is as bad as eating simply because you're bored. Not good. lol!

I bought Please Twin today. Hopefully it'll be a lot like Please Teacher. I really enjoyed that series. One thing that annoyed me though, was the salesperson selling me the game. When scanning it, he looks at the price and says "Please Twins huh? Awesome price. Now that's cheap!" Sort of like complimenting himself. Usually I don't mind clerks like that, but the reality is that the price wasn't that low. It just seems low because it was half the price of a regular 26 episode set. But it's only 13 episodes, so it make sense it's half the price. And let's just say I have a problem with people telling me I'm getting a great price when I'm actually not. -_- Well, it seems that at this rate I might just start boycotting so many stores that I won't have anywhere to buy anymore. [sigh] At least my wallet will be thankful. ~_^

I was successful at completing my last History project, which was about creating a website about the 1974 World's Fair at Spokane. I was worried about how it would work running off a CD, but it was flawless, which is more than I could say for my spelling. I should really proff read before handing it in, and not after. lol

This is godo news though for my own website. I made something really simple, but in the end I was able to have it completed in a single night. And with only suing Notepad and a few references from some HTML guide books for things like centering and getting rid of borders around pictures. I'm actually very impressed with myself. Shoot... I should have mentionned that fact somewhere on the website though. Maybe I could impress my professor considering everyone else were using those programs that are point and click based and it writes the code for you.

  • Video game season... 2005-11-22 01:45:00 Well, it seems video game commercials are in full swing, just in time for the holiday rush. ~_^ I've seen PSP commercials, Xbox 360, Soul Calibur 3, Mario Kart DS (Nintendo WIFI), Jak X Combat Racing, Dragon Quest 8 and Call of Duty 2. All just today! lol Not that I'm complaining actually.

One thing I do dislike however is the "Spike Tv Video Game Awards". Number one, the idea that the majority of the awards are determined as "Viewer's Choice" automatically puts more emphasis on all the more famous games, and not necessarily the best ones. Second, many of the games which are nominess are not even released yet (ex: Perfect Dark Zero and King Kong). How do people vote for a game that they have not played yet? Even more, there's only one category for handhelds. Do you really think that the public would willingly choose a handheld game over a console game on their own accord for everything else? For the most part, I think not. I won't bother numbering any more of my reasons, but there's still tons of things that bother me about it. Like categories like "Best Supporting Male Performance" with nominees like Eminem in 50 Cent: Bulletproof and Christopher Walken in True Crime: New York City. Do I even bother try making sense of that? Or how about "Best Cast". Excuse me? I think just the idea that 50 Cent: Bulletproof got the amount of nominations it did says something. No offence, but the last time I checked, that was a pretty weak game. Of course, being a Nintendo fan, I tend to be a bit biased. Last year for example, I believe had a total of perhaps 1 Nintendo nomination, or something stupid. This year, there's actually a couple, all for the DS. Even Resident Evil 4 is advertised as a PS2 game. That kinda irritates me. And what about for breakthrough technology? The PSP gets it's own nomination, while the DS has only "Nintendogs Voice recognition". Anyways, enough ranting. Last year I realized for the first time that the awards were really like a long commercial. I was heart broken, considering I had even marked on my calendar the day to watch it. This year I'm a little more knowledgeable, and smart enough to book that day doing something else... ANYTHING else.

Phew... It's been quite a while since the last time I had to rant about something like this. Feels pretty good. ^_^

  • Crunch Time... 2005-11-21 01:35:53 These next four weeks will probably be the most brutal time I'll have had to endure yet in University. I have 4 major projects to complete with various assignments in the wings to be completed within the next two weeks. The following two weeks are packed with my 6 exams. I'm actually a little worried.

And talk about bad timing. Sometime in the next couple of weeks, something fairly important will be happening at home. I don't feel it's something I should really talk about until it happens, but let's just say it will make for a pretty awkward holidays.

Ever worry that all your precious Journal entries left here on the internet will one day be erased from existence? I know I do. Every now and then, I try to saw a few of them in text files to my computer, but get to lazy to accomplish anything real. Well, today I did a big chunk of progress. I saved all my entries so far from 2005. Of course, now I'm nervous that if my computer ever died, I would be screwed, so that's why I'll have to do a good backup soon. lol

This was a fairly fun weekend. My girlfriend dropped by because her band would be performing in the Toronto Santa Claus Parade (Biggest in the World I heard). So she spent the weekend with me for the most part. Actually, she was supposed to come by Saturday, but surprised me on Friday night. And what a surprise, especially sicne I was out shopping! Oh well, so I rushed back, and we got to spend some time together. Saturday morning we had breakfast with her father. And Saturday afternoon we met up with our friend to go see Harry Potter and the Gobblet of Fire. Pretty good movie. I think it would have been better if it was longer, like Lord of the Rings, so to fir more of the novel into it, but I suppose then it wouldn't have been so good for younger children. That night she had to get together with her band, so I watched tv at home (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets actually). We spent some time together that night, but got in an argument right before going to sleep. Not good. You see, I had fallen asleep while she took a shower, and after she got back, she thought I was ignoring her. She thought I was awake, because supposedly I had looked at her when she walked in (I must have been half-asleep). Anyways she got upset, I couldn't figure out why, and eventually we talked it out, though for the most part of Sunday we were uneasy with eachother.

Sunday morning was more og the same. She had to leave soon to go to the parade, but I wasn't making any progress at getting out of bed. I think she took that as to not caring about making the most of our last moments together. I was just too tired to move quickly. Anyways, she was getting upset again, but luckily since we didn't really have time to argue, it didn't get out of control. But like I said, for the rest of the weekend we were a bit uncomfortable around eachother.

The parade was fine, and I saw her one last time before she left to go back to Kingston. After that I ended up sleeping from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. I don't think I'll go to sleep this morning to amke up for everything I missed this past weekend. There's plenty of things, and with all my upcoming projects, I shouldn't waste so much time sleeping. lol

  • Such a grump... 2005-11-14 04:56:12 I sound like such a grump when I read my own Journal. lol That can't be a good thing. ~_^

Lately I've been going over a lot of my old e-mails. I creepy thought came over me just a minute ago. What if my account ever got deleted? Not only would I lose the e-mail addesses of so many friends, but all the e-mails as well. I usually try to save most of them, so especially on days like today, I can go back and enjoy them. It's really nice reading the old conversations I used to have with people (mostly about anime) years ago.

Today I went to sleep around 8:00pm (body was dead), and decided to wake up around 3:00am. I really like this plan of mine. This kind of sleeping arrangement is really nice because it breaks up those long Winter nights and keeps my attitude cheery. ^_^ Not to mention keep sme from spending the whole night watching tv. lol

  • Weird feeling... 2005-11-13 00:08:10 Right now I'm having one of my "I should just go to bed and wrap this day up" kind of moods. They're very annoying. It's always a combination of lack of sleep, being in the same place for too long, and the ever growing night.

Today I spent a lot of it out and about all over Toronto. I took like 200 pictures of scenery and examples of Architecture for using as references. I left around 11:00am, and only got back around 6:00pm. Of course this included a bit of shopping, but by thte end I was exhausted. Good thing I had my roller blades, otherwise I would have never been able to go as far as I did, right down to the lakeshore.

I spent the night watching hockey. When I'm all alone, and watching the game, I totally get into it. My throat is really sore right now because of all the yelling. Shame the Montréal Canadiens lost. A couple of unlucky breaks, and Ed Belfour playing an amazing game helped them lose in Overtime.

Got my first taste of Cowboy Bebop last night. Simply amazing. Once I've finished watching that series, I'm positive it will have become of my all time favourite. The animation is awesome, especially for half a decade ago. The music is sweet. And so far, the voice acting is actually appropriate. Though I've only seen the first DVD. We'll find out how things hold up when I rent the second one in the very near future.
