  • Old memories floating around... 2005-11-09 01:50:01 I checked out some old forums today. Well, to be frank, the majority of them have been deleted or removed off the internet. But one still remained, and proved to have some of the most useful information I've ever seen about myself. This was the TANC message board, the first 2nd of 3 versions I believe. There were only a few active members, but we all had a great time and had become very close. Luckily it was still up, because I wanted to save a bunch of my favourite posts. Since most of my old boards are gone, there's no way I can ever find those posts anymore, but I suppose that's what you get for thinking of an idea 2 years too late. lol

Ever think your best years are behind you? I do. 16 and 17 were definitely some of the best times of my life. I was bright, clever, shy, good looking, and just plain had fun. I'm a total wreck compared to my old self. I'm an angry person. My old nature was never this cruel. I used to be such a happy go lucky person. Now I'm always so bitter and short tempered. This is what happens when a person loses their innocence. [rolls eyes] Ya, I'm a total rebel now. lol

  • Winter blues already setting in... 2005-11-07 21:45:24 We're still far from the shortest day of the year, but these ever growing nights, and shortening hours of daylight are tiring me out. I'm becoming short with myself, and my body has been feeling uncomfortable. It's the feeling I usually get when I stay in a room without natural light for too long, or don't breathe fresh air for an extended period of time. I feel tired, and slow. If I'm already acting like this now, it's probably going to be a long Winter.

I just spent the weekend at my girlfriend's place in Kingston. It was a lot of fun. The weather was pretty nice, with lots of variety. Warm sun and clear skies, mixed with dark clouds and brutal thunder. We watched Batman Begins and War of the Worlds. They were both decent movies. I even drank a bit with her. Tasted disgusting, but still fun.

Today I rented a whole bunch of anime. I got Burst Angel (anyone else reminded of Evangelion? Well, in the first two episodes at least), Cowboy Bebop, Soultaker, DBZ: Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan, Argentosoma, Fullmetal Alchemist, and House of Flying Daggers. Just something to entertain me, though it probably wasn't the smartest move for my bank account. I'll chalk up the lousy decision to my lousy mood right now. lol

Maybe I'll just go to bed early, and things will look better tomorrow. No harm in going to bed not and waking up around 4:00am. ~_^

  • Brutal project... 2005-11-04 09:05:17 Wednesday and Thursday were rough days. Wednesday is my longer day in regard to lecture hours, and unfortunately that was followed up with an all-nighter with my group members to finish up a project. Usually it wouldn't be so bad if this was a Studio project, since those tend to zip along. But this was a research project, which just crawls along when you're tired. I ended up falling asleep for a few 5 minute naps, and occassionaly drooled all over the back of my hand (which I was using for a pillow). -_- lol

Anywyas, we got it done. It may be expensive, but printing out projects on full colour pages just looks awesome. Once it's bound and all that professional looking stuff, it's hard to not be impressed with all your friend's projects, or even with your own work for that matter.

Today I'm packing up, and going to visit my girlfriend. First time this year, so it should prove fun. The only problem is that there's a lot of things going on this weekend, in regards to work I should be doing. Everything I'm missing is voluntary, but it still leaves me uneasy. Unfortunately this is the only weekend until Christmas we'll be able to see eachother, and in my opinion, that's just a bit too far away. ~_^

  • Anime hides it's age well... 2005-11-01 23:50:21 @#*$%...

I did it again. I pressed the "back" button on my keyboard by accident, and flipped back one internet page, to the main members menu. When I pressed "forward" to quickly get back to writing my Journal entry, everything was gone. It's actually a very painful sight to behold.

Anyways, what was I talking about. Oh ya. It's so surprising how old most anime is nowadays. Earlier today, I dropped by a used book store and bought a bunch of old "Manga Max" and "Animerica" magazines. You know, mostly from 1995 and 1999. And boy was I surpriosed about what anime was in the news back then.

For example, Ah My Goddess was being talked about as an influential anime for recruiting new anime fans. Or how about that somewhat recent anime DVD "Memories"? That was previewed at AnimExpo '95! Gundam Wing being old news? Now there's a shocker as well. They were already doing the spinoff "Pretty Sammy" in 1995? I didn't know Tenchi Muyo was finished yet! I suppose when you think about it, all this information isn't that surprising, but it would never have been something I would have put money on before reading all this.

Anime's been around longer than I've given it credit for. I suppose it's because many of these series still seem so popular. I mean, Tenchi, Ah My Goddess (ddin't they just realese a new DVD or that or something), and other series of the like are still major names, and introducing new people to anime. It's kinda creepy when you think about it...

  • Mix of identity... 2005-11-01 03:22:58 My brother could be me, and I could be my brother... Now that would be a strange idea to put into motion. lol

It's not actually possible, but it's truly funny how often people accidently call eachother by the other's name. Of course they realize their mistake right away, but it's still a very commong occurence. Our father does it all the time. Our uncle does it too. Whenever we pick up the phone, the caller always assumes the wrong person on the other end of the line. We're not that alike, personality wise anymore. We used to get along a lot better, but with time we've grown apart. And our appearance is different too now. His hair is much longer than mine. His bangs (are they called that for a guy?) probably reach his chin, while mine reach my nose (extremely long compared to my usual hair style). Anyways, why am I blabbing on about this? I guess it's because at our last famliy dinner, my brother was absent due to a party, so I was alone. But through the course of the dinner, I think I was called by my brother's name 3 times. It doesn't sound like that much, but it made an impression on me, especially when it creates a whole conversation about it after the mistake has been realized. lol

Halloween? Oh ya, that was last night. lol I guess that's when you know I'm not the partying type. Oh well. Cheap Halloween candy though goes on sale today! ~_^

By the way, very rough weekend. Just finished up a project that was basically constant work since Friday afternoon (after the day's lectures). I've never been happier to roll into bed for 5 hours of sleep. ^_^
