  • Frustrating endings... 2005-10-11 21:53:59 There's nothing worse than watching an anime hoping it will finish up just right, and having it fail you at the last moment.

    [spoiler]

What brings this up? I just finished watching .hack//SIGN. The anime was average. I really like the animation style, and music. The dubbed voices were a little weak though. Anyways, it was something I was purely watching to see how teh ending wrapped things up. Well, not so great. I do realize though that I still have the two OVA esisodes to watch, but it's not the true ending. I've read that to fully enjoy the series, you have to have played the game, and watched the series that is in junction with those games. Here's a good example, what happens with Sora? In the series, you get the idea he dies. But after a bit of reading, it seems your player "Kite" saves him in the game on the PS2. [sigh] Just a bit of information I would have been left guessing about. In my opinion, an anime series like that should be able to support... Well, itself. I can forgive a terribly anticlimatic ending, but give me at least some closure. -_-

Here some more of my beefs. lol Bad translated openings. Ok, I'll admit that this is going on the assumption that the current openings for One Piece, Naruto and Zatch Bell, that I see on tv, are different than their Japanese versions. The openings for Gundam Wing, InuYasha, and Witch Hunter Robin are great. Why change this formula? Ugh... These openings are just plain disturbing and confusing. Though there have been a few exceptions. Digimon Frontier, certain Pokémon seasons, Shaman King... Ok, so not that many. lol

  • Overwhelming priorities... 2005-10-10 23:18:48 I just saw a bit of "Dead like me" (the second episode). Seems like quite a good show. Not only that, it's very thought provoking. Well, from the half an episode I've seen. Must be pretty tough to have no choice in what you do, with not even suicide as an exit. 0_0

Today I just got back from Thanksgiving. It was a nice weekend. I spent most of it either getting some priorities out of the way, or helping my father with some yardwork. The only problem, is that I feel like no matter what I ever do, there's always something I never got around to doing. And lately, it's been school work. I mean, when I look back at it, I've wasted so much time that could have been spent working. However, whenever it comes to the present, it's like there's no way I can really get anything done. It's already mid October, with midterms coming up, and I feel like I haven't learned anything all year. I feel like asking someone "Has classes already started?" I wish I knew why I just can't get into anything this year...

On a more comforting note, I bought lots of nice anime this past weekend. But now I have to promise myself that I won't buy anymore anime unless there's a ridiculously good sale, like this time. I mean, good anime all at $6.88? Awesome. Heat Guy J, Haibane Renmei, Tenchi, Gad Guard, Mahoromatic... Time to give the old wallet a well deserved rest.

  • One fast month down... 2005-10-03 04:52:59 It's already October?! Wow... I feel like I haven't even started the year yet. Maybe I should start buckling down. lol

My hair is so long. It's been a real while since I've let it grow out like this. The last time Ihad it cut was probably sometime in May. 4 months so far. Maybe I should try for half a year. By then, my hair might start looking like my brother's (which is really long. Stretched out, my bangs can reach the bottom of my nose. Though when my hair gets long, it curls. So that, combined with always brushing it to the side, keeps my hair out of my face, or just hitting eye level.

Things that have gone unused for the past little bit.
    -My sketchbooks
    -My website
    -My real journal
    -My paints
Luckily I've gotten back into my "lack of sleep" routine, so a few hours should leave me with lots of extra time throughout the day.

In fact, today I had a nap from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, hence the reason why I'm on the computer at 5:00am. lol

  • An internetless September was a serious test... 2005-10-01 15:42:31 Sure I was able to use my roomate's computer or the internet at my school, but it's just not the same having to always use my USB key to transfer everything. Though that time is over, and my computer is about to get back in shape, and fast. ~_^

This is a good thing, because I have to learn HTML, and fast. I signed up for a group project where I have to design a website, and I jumped at the opportunity. Finally I won't be able to continue putting off learning to build websites, and can practice on my own. I just better learn fast. lol

I'm too happy about having the internet again. I don't really have anything else to talk about. lol

  • Just simply updating my life... 2005-09-24 23:14:19 It's days like this that leave me feeling a little unfullfilled. I sit around, waste the day basically, and watch tv. I realize that this is what I look forward to all week, but when it comes down to it, it usually takes at least one good thing during that day to make it a good one. Guess it hasn't happened yet.

Schooling is coming along. I've accomplished my first all-nighter in order to complete a project on time. We've been handed a half a dozen more project, most either due in two weeks, or in 4 weeks. Not the most pleasant of sights. lol But like I said earlier it's coming along. ^_^

I did see A History of Violence though yesterday. That was a pretty good movie. And the killing scenes were made very realistic. There was just something about them that made me think I was watching a real person perform these acts of violence. The movie felt a little short though, but that's my only real complaint.

It's been Autumn for only a couple of days now, and it seems that Mother Nature is on the ball like clockwork. This morning was pretty chilly, and I wouldn't be surprised if we start getting frost soon one of these mornings. Luckily the sun is still plenty warm, and once afternoon hits, you tend to forget everything about that chilly morning. lol

Well, back to cleaning/watching tv in my room. I'm using my roommates computer, because we haven't picked up a router yet for us both to have internet. No big problem, he's gone home for the weekend, so it kinda feels cool to have the whole place to myself for the weekend. ^_^
