JOURNAL: Anime Jedi

  • Stretching your limits... 2005-06-16 01:11:22 About 2 ½ weeks of working over 9 hours a day done, and I'm still standing. lol

But it doesn't leave me much time for anything else. Here's a perfect example. When was the last time I went over a week without leaving a Journal entry?!?! lol

I end up leaving anything to do with the internet and my computer until late at night. However what ends up happening is that I fall asleep no matter what. The past two nights I've fallen asleep while playing Fire Emblem (which I just recently bought (the first version for the GBA)). And I haven't yet fixed my neighbour's computer, which has been over a couple of weeks.

Oy... You can tell I'm tired already. I'm not thinking straight, and my entry so far doesn't flow at all. It sounds rough and jumps all over the place. I suppose that's it for now. I'm just about to tear apart my computer, so hopefully it will be working again in the following days. ^_^

  • Living in the working world... 2005-06-07 23:36:06 I now have a full time job, which leaves me really no time at all to do anything else.

    Example...

I check my e-mail every two days now. 0_0
I've been recording television shows at the wrong time for an entire week, without realizing it.
Clean clothes now inhabit my floor.
I start thinking that I should go to bed soon when I walk in the front door after getting home from work.
Licking a spoon clean counts as cleaning it.

I suppose I'm just tired. Or even more, a little frustrated. I hate the idea of not having any real free time to do all the little things that need to get done. And I can't stay up late for fear of not waking up in time to go to work earlt the next morning. The only way I can get some time, would be to go to sleep after getting home from work, but then I'd never see my girlfriend. Quite the predicament.

My day usually goes as follows:

6:00am - Wake up from alarms clocks
6:30am - Get out of bed and get ready
7:00am - Leave home and bike to work
    7:30am - Work until 5:00pm
    5:00pm - Bike home
    5:30pm - Shower
    6:00pm - Dinner
7:00pm - Do something with my girlfriend
10:30pm - Seperate from whatever I was doing with my girlfriend
    11:00pm - Sleep

Today is one of those days where I refuse to go to sleep that early, and needed to at least go on the internet. Should I try going to sleep now, or try staying up and get things done? Well, knowing me, I'll probably end up sleeping no matter what I decide.

  • Anime North 2005... 2005-05-30 01:36:20 This was a rather long weekend.

I didn't get very much done, but it was fairly decent. Saturday I got dropped off at Anime North 2005, and started it off with an hour wait for registration. This year I decided not to pre-register, because this line has always been the longest... Not this year though! Just my luck.

I checked out the dealer's room, artists alley, and some showings. The convention was split between the Toronto Congress Centre and the Doubletree hotel. Kind of a pain. Saturday I bought the Rahxephon box set (slim version).

By the way, I was the person wearing a head band (like the kind that looks like an older version of a headphone set, usually for girls to hold their hair back) that featured a sweatdrop above my head. I wore it for most of the convention.

Saturday ended late, and I tried to visit my girlfriend, but she was already asleep when I showed up at her house.

Sunday was ok too. I woke up decently early, and was able to take the car down to the convention. Since it was Sunday, people were more willing to make some deals. I bought the Collector's box set of Boogiepop Phantom, the first four volumes of Argentosoma, the first volume of Someday's Dreamers, and five different manga. I spent quite a bit of money, but I think it was worth. I also attended an oragami workshop, which was fun, and killed off a bit of time. I ended up leaving early, since I had a family dinner to go to in honour of my grandmother, which was fine since my thirst for anime was quite quenched.

Right now I believe I'm pulling an all-nighter before going into work tomorrow morning. It's a little scary though. I haven't stayed up all night successfully yet this summer vacation. That's a whole month! Even that time I bragged about it being 5:00am, I still fell asleep right after. I'm worried because if I fall asleep now, I'll never wake up in time for work, and I can't mess up on my first day working in a factory. -_-

  • Lots of achievements, yet am unexcited... 2005-05-27 00:14:28 I feel unmotivated to write a Journal entry, but I figure I should just because it's been so long since I last did.

I now have 2 jobs. Plus a bunch of other little stuff to make money. Not bad from just a week ago having nothin. I work at Tim Hortons part time (most likely weekends) and will start working at a warehouse on Monday (full time, 8am to 4½pm).

Working at Tim Hortons is very tiring, and kind of scary. I suppose it's a lot like the first time I worked at Yogen Fruz. So much new stuff, and when you mess up, the last thing you want is to get in trouble.

This evening my family and my girlfriend and I went to check out some apartments that seemed good. We saw two. One was huge. It's really nice and quite fancy. The other is more of a student type living situation, but since it's not that much cheaper than the other bigger one, the decision isn't very hard. Now I just need to confirm it with the two other people whom I'll probably be living with.

I finally worked on my website a bit the other day. I was very proud of myself on that day. I've also written a couple of anime music video reviews, which is a big thing for me considering how little I've been doing in the last little while. lol

  • Funny how your mind plays tricks on you... 2005-05-22 00:19:13 Jedi mind tricks... Just kidding.

I just finished watching Star Wars: Episode 1, and I have to admit that it was nto nearly as bad as I had first remembered. I watched Episode 2 about a week ago, and thought it was average. But at the same time remembered that Episode 1 was even worse than it. I feel like I was totally wrong. Weird... Though it could be because I was expecting Episode 1 to be bad (right now) that it seemed much better than usual... Strange...

I just spent the last dozen minutes reading reviews on both movies. It's kinda funny to hear all the different sides of the spectrum. Lots of people either hated or loved them both. Tell you the truth, I think the first one is good because Liamm Neeson (sp?) was awesome, but the second one too because of some key scenes. Hopefully the third one doesn't have as bad acting, and concludes with a good story. ^_^
