  • The uncanny thing about life... 2006-02-13 06:15:48 Why is it, that of all the websites in the world, this one (the Org) is the only one that has been giving me the most trouble these past few weeks. And I mean it's really getting on my nerves. Worst thing about it is, that this has happened before. I don't know if it's either the site, ot my computer, but something has to be done. I keep trying and trying, and FINALLY, I'm able to load the page. But then I can never get to the next one. The worst part like I said, is that this is the only site that this happens to. I'm browsing along, looking at pics, and checking some video games out, but I can't make a Journal entry, check out any new vids, or even get on the forum. Very, very frustrating. I have a feeling it's my computer's fault, I just don't know why. Problem is that I won't be able to format my computer any time soon, since I still have many episodes that I need to encode, then burn onto CD-R. That could take awhile...

As of late, things haven't been the greatest. I've been getting depressed really easily. My mood goes from happy, to gloomy in no time at all. What this does mean though, is that it forces me to get to bed earlier in order to cheer myself up, which has been a goal for myself for a long time. And as you can see, the product of going to bed early is being able to make the most of my day by getting up early. So at least there's one thing to be happy about.

Funny thing is, school hasn't been at the top of my worries. I've actually been keeping on top of that. Projects haven't been killing me. And things aren't as complicated anymore. Now, as I'm saying that though, I do have a midterm in the next few days, but hopefully it won't be as hard as I fear.

Money... Well, I've been able to slow things down in that aspect of my life. I haven't been as hungry to spend money. Which is really nice. I guess partly because there just isn't anykind of anime that's been catching my eye. I mean, at a good price as well. Usually there's always something, but I guess when you check out the stores on a weekly basis, there's usually not much new. And that means not much newon sale either. That beign said, I did buy two more DVDs today, but my real goal now is reading the manga and watching the anime I have now. It's a huge task, I'll give myself that, but seriously, I have a lot of anime that's never been viewed. And that's just now right.

I miss my girlfriend. I'm not cut out for this long distance kind of relationship. I used to think I could shoulder it, I'm not sure anymore. Luckily Spring Break is coming up, so I'll get to see her soon.

I better wrap this up. Hmmm... You know what would suck, if I tried to enter this entry, but the next page failed to load. lol It's a good thing I'm used to that kind of punishment, and now expect it. I better save what I've written before trying to save it online. lol

  • Missed out again... 2006-02-06 04:22:53 Seems like I missed the deadline for the Logo Contest again. Maybe next will be different...

Right now, it's about 4:00am. Today wasn't very productive. I worked on an assignment for my Theory course...

Crap. None of my AVI files are working. I think I must have screwed something up with all that dumb Virtual Dub work. I just tried opening up an AMV (which I haven't done in a long time) and nothing happened. Just perfect.

Anyway, like I was saying. I was working on my assignment which involves working with a software called Form Z. It's kinda like AutoCad, except it's all done in 3D. Very confusing, like all software is. About halfway through I just gave up and decided to hand whatever I had already done. Ya, I had to hand it in today (technically yesterday). Weird for it to be due on a Sunday. Oh well.

Things are actually going well when it comes to recording my shows. Slowly but surely my shows are being put from VHS to my computer. The next step is to edit out the commercials, and then to burn them to CD-R. Long and repetitive work, but it's worth it.

Why am I up so late? I got back from Studio late, so I figured I'd play by ear and see if I ended up staying up late, or falling asleep early. Well, here I am. But the worst part is when I start getting tired NOW. I mean, if I fall asleep at 4:30am, it basically leaves me screwed for getting to class on time. But how long can I last like this? [sigh] Hopefully we'll find out later than sooner.

  • Last ditch effort... 2006-01-27 03:46:49 I plan on visiting my girlfriend tomorrow evening, but that means I have to quickly watch all those movies I had rented last weekend before I leave. Looks like no sleep tonight again. And just after donating blood too. -_-

This week's been tough. Between lack of sleep and just plain being tired, things are rough. Sunday was a mess, which only followed into Monday with me trying to finish my project on time. All I could do Tuesday was rest, and have a pretty full day on Wednesday. Thursday I tried to get as much done as I could before the weekend, and now it's Friday morning and there's no time left.

Luckily I've already watched two of the movies I had rented. They were "Passion of the Christ" and "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind". Both were very good movies. Passion wasn't actually as bad as I had imagined actually. I predicted I was going to be so horrified I would find it hard to finish, but no. In fact, I thought it went by too fast. And Nausicaa was really good too. Uma Thurman and Patrick Stewart? Disney is really finding some experienced actors to do the voices in these Ghibli films. All I have left is the 2nd DVD of the Cowboy Bebop series. Too bad I have to rush through al this stuff just to make sure I don't waste my money.

Today after class I decided to donate blood. I have been eligible for a couple of weeks and figured I should do it before things get even more hectic. Unfortunately it wasn't as funas it usually is. There was a very long wait this time. Guess I dropped by at a bad time. Also, the nurse applied the needle badly, and had difficulty drawing blood. She had to wiggle it around inside me, and finally had to hold it down throughout the entire procces just to get a good flow. It ended up being a bit painful.

Tomorrow I have class at 10:00am, so I'm afraid that if I go to sleep anytime soon, I'll miss it completely. Not to mention I have to meet with my group for an assignment just after, so I really can't miss it.

This morning was a mess as well. I woke up only to find that my roommate's juice in the fridge had sprung a leak, causing a mixture of pineapple juice and aluminum to soak the fridge. It took me forever to find the source, since I wasn't aware it was pineaaple juice at the beginning. It was a slit on the side of a can. Because of that, it made the juice smell more like rust, making it hard to track. After washing a lot of the food, and the fridge, things were finally clean. With just enough time to have a poor breakfast and go to school.

I'm really quite sore right now. I think I'll either make my way over to watch Cowboy Bebop or find some more stuff that I have to clean up. Might as well make use of all my the time I have left.

  • Just screwed up night and day... 2006-01-23 05:10:29 Today I woke up at 3:00pm. Therefore I knew I wasn't going to be that tired tonight and decided to just got he whole night. Not much I could do, other than trying to sleep only after being up a few hours. At least this time I shouldn't ahev trouble staying up 24 hours in a row. If I do, that'll really take a shot to my ego.

With the help of a friend, I actually bought a figurine. It's the first one I've ever bought. My only other one (Rei from Evangelion) I got for Christmas. This one is of Asuka (Evangelion) and in my opinion is sweet. It's Gothic Asuka, sitting on a set of beat up stairs. Very awesome.

I've only been taping a lot of shows like Ghost in the Shell: SAC and Witch Hunter Robin because they tend to be slow. But when I do finally get around to watching them (since I'm already out of energy), they're really quite awesome. Now I want to see more!

I put up these two big wallscrolls in my room. One from Haibane Renmei, and one from Serial Experiments Lain. Cool, but big. They dwarf everything else in my room. Maybe I'll reconsider if I find something else more suitable.

Well, this night is already coming to an end. I better get back to getting stuff done so I can think of this night as something relatively productive.

  • The early birds gets the worm... 2006-01-16 07:09:53 So far, so good. I've been working hard to get to sleep early, therefore making it possible for me to wake up early. It's tough, but possible. You know what's funny? That this seems so revolutionary to me, yet to most people it's an everyday fact. Talk about having different perspectives on the world. lol

Guess what amazing documentary I saw last night? Genghis Khan. What an amazing person. Ok, the documentary was just good, but the story behind Genghis Khan was quite something. One person, trying to take over the world. And he got pretty darn close to it. To think, he went all the way to Europe too! Crazy.

Voting for Canada. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done later today. Yes, the election isn't until the 23rd, but since I'm registered back at home, I can't do it here in Toronto. Luckily since I'll be in town for my brother's class' art show, I can go to an advance voting poll. It'll be cool to vote.

I haven't finished my shelf yet. Trust me, I'm very disappointed. Something that I was hoping to finish before the Christmas break still isn't done. But hopefully I'll be able to finish it later this week. It'll be nice to finally have somewhere to put my DVDs, DVD player, VCR and GameCube.

I never would have thought that my workout strategy would involve a video game. But thanks to DDR, that's all changed. Every other night, I play for about 45 minutes to an hour, just going through the levels. It's DDR Mario Mix, so it is easier than normal DDR, but still fun. I've beaten a lot of it already, but that hardest mode "Super Hard" is just too much right now. ~_^

I've been recording tv shows onto my computer like a machine. So many episodes so far. Now what I need is an editor to take commercials out and the like. That's something I'm going to have to ask around the boards to find out about. Talk about the right question to ask when at a Anime Music Video website. lol
