Details of my death have been greatly exagerated
2004-08-09 02:39:08
Wow, it's been a while eh? oh well, better late than never. After reading my last Journal update soooo much has happened. umm where do i start?
I got a new computer, best computer i have ever used, great for AMV making, speaking of which i can never seem to complete one, i get half way through and i loss interest, because deep down i know it is shit. I go to college now, Multimedia design is what I do, not digital video, this course is much more diverse. Got me Doom 3 yesterday and played for 8 hours straight, good game, starts off very scary, I'm adapting to the fact that mutant creatures *will* crawl out of the deep dark holes in the wall. I almost wet myself from every hole in my body when some voice came out of no where exclaiming "You are clossssse" and my screen turned red.
Animania is coming up in two months any i'm looking forward to going to it, maybe i will put in an old, yet good AMV for the competition, That cardboard box snake is looking good.

Well, shit.
That basically sums up the time since the last journal entry not to long ago
Alot of crazy stuff has happened that I'm not going to write because i'm starting to feel like a broken record.
Got a new system, one that can hold an enitre series of anime!! *shock!* My finals for the HSC (Final Year Assesments for you americans) are quickly coming up and my work has still yet to appear right in front of me which I had hoped it would, no new AMV's rather im remastering my old classic "What a wonderful world" with tons of new fixes and brandspanking new source footage, I can taste the fun, also i've decided to enter it into a AMV competition at a adeilaide convention AV-Con unfortunately I wont be there to see some of the other Australian work. Also today I've decided I want to go to College to do Digital Video, For a while I was opposed to the idea but just when I was mixing in Premiere it hit me, I wanted to go, It was really wierd all of a sudden, I felt feelgood like watching a movie about feelinggood, wow.
More Anime than I can poke several short sticks at, with my new DSL connection all I get is Anime and it is just really really good. Neverwinter Nights! fucking excellant game, go get it you'll thank yourself for it and than me.

I've got a monkey in my pocket and he's stealing all my change...

Been a while since last update, well, i got that mp3 player i had been hammering for, the Creative Zen is now mine, and what a beauty it is, 20gig and rechargable USB connection does it get any better?
A slew of new anime has been comming my way, the likes of .hack//DUSK, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Escaflowne, Haibane Renmei and Berserk. Berserk, there are very few anime titles like this, after watching the whole series of a rather long period of time, I am offically in love with this show, it's rawness attracts me the most, the violence, love, hate with a kickass story to match, pure gold, i suggest if you havent, go see it.
I got a copy of Freelancer and i'm royally dissapointed by it, fuck I hate Microsoft now, they ruin everything and turn it into piles of shit. I have been waiting years for this title and it turns out to be very linear, I wanted a sorta Morrowind meets Freespace 2, not Starlancer meets pong.
As i write this i am listening to "New World" by Round Table, the opening song for .hack//DUSK, the song has taken ahold of me and won't let go, and i don't even like the song very much, i hate it when that happens.
Oh yeah, I went to anime convention, in Sydney i travelled down and went with a few friends to Supanova (what a crappy name) this makes my second time to Supanova and it was much better than last. I was going to cosplay but I kinda ran out of time, prehaps i could of balanced the men / female ratio, as the women easily out numbered the men, and oh my god if I see another Chobits, Card Captor or cheesy DBZ cosplay i'm gonna hurl. I havent even seen 1 ep of Chobits and i already hate it, all those Chi wannabes, err. Next year i'm going to Cosplay for sure, i'm thinking Gatts or Kazuma, or if time contrants are in hand, Solid Snake in his cardboard box.
Suprisingly I havent been working on any AMV's, shame on me, I just havent had any solid ideas, actually the last idea i had was a remix of the bebop opening to a techno remix of Super Mario bros. yes i know, very sad.
At Supanova I was suprised me and friends werent kicked out, i'll let you in on some of the stuff we did.
1) At the Cosplay my dear friend went up on stage in normal clothes, stating he was the "terror" from Gasaraki, if you know the show you'll understand
2) We screamed out you suck at the Karaoke section (not directed to the singer) seconds later she threw down the mic and ran off into the toliets while i screamed out "Encore!"
3) My friend asked Goku for a dollar in front of over 150 ppl during his Panel
4) In the Anime quiz, if i didnt know the answer, i would put down a random often insulting qoute, eg "No you communist swine!"
Anyways i think this journal is getting a little large for my liking.
Also you may wonder whats with the title of this monstorous journal entry, you see i've been playing Monkey Island again :)

Well, i'm just about officially out of anime to watch, i recently aquired Vandread stage 1 and 2 and i'm just about through that. I finished Cowboy Bebop - What a wonderful world, and it's not too shabby, if i do say so myself. I'm past my trigun phase, as i did with my Kenshin and DBZ phase (shudders).
As i live in Australia, i am currently on holidays, chritmas is two and half weeks over, and i didn't get what i want (does anyone?) holidaying in Sydney proved to be rather expensive and i missed out on buying my Mp3 player by 50$ i have wanted one for ages, I told all my friends i wanted one, so they ALL got one, jeez.
I've been playing the vampire of a game, Morrowind, it sucks whatever life i had in me. I falls alseep at night/sometimes morning, rambling "Have at You!"
I've also found interest in Webcomics, first Megatokyo (megatokyo.com), which is excellant, then i went onto Penny Arcade (penny-arcade.com), which is bloody hilarious, I can't stress how much i like these two comics
And they show to me that there are some hope for gamers in the entertainment scene.
I think i've just about my persuaded my friend to host my AMV's, well a few of them anyway, he's not a real generous person, so thanks willy :)
My Bebop manga is my new addition to my shelf, and can't wait till i get the third (and last) Bebop, i want to see the alternative ending... it's just so expensive, being that it is directly imported from America, costing about 30$ (Aus) which is around 65 American...
Oh well it's all worth it
