Now I just need to remember that and repet it 1500 times before making my next video and hence avoid the two hour headache known as encoding I just went through... -

1. Run with an idea!
If I have a good one I get it down in some form and at least attempt to get it down for possible later work
2. Know exactly what clips I want and get only those
Especially when dealing with DVDs it can be a hassle if you don't know what you're getting, so I make a plan beforehand by watching the episodes and taking notes on the times of what parts I want as well as possibilites that are put in a seperate folder from the definites.
3. Work in chunks
So I don't get overwhelmed, I only do something like 1:20 to 1:40 at a time and then take a break between. This keeps me focused and prevents me from getting frustrated and distracted
4. Never be satisfied
No matter how much work I do I always know I can do better, and while I congratulate myself I still think that I can improve in some ways. After a while I go back and look at old work.

The current project is a Gankutsuou trailer to Holic from one of the DDRs (don't remember off hand which one) with a possible intro of Estremoz by ES Posthumus. The reason I chose Holic was because of the slightly manic sound to it, and for those of you who know the story (either the book or show) it fits the Count very well.
As for the intro just a random idea of something that sounded vagely French and sets up the whole revenge theme. Might not get finished, but depending on how it turns out it might be an Anime Boston submission.
And I'm actually using this journal! Probably won't be often, but no time like the present.
