Dust In the Wind

Disclaimer: I don't own trigun.
I was inspired to write this one night. I hope you like it. I was listening to furious angels at the time, so listen to that if you have it. Now without further ado:
Dust in the Wind
By: J-chan
I stood with my eyes to the clear blue sky. I used to live above it. Up where there were no such things as birds flying or children playing, save for two identical likenesses. My brother and I. Our days spent there were few, but I enjoyed every precious minute of it. I would always listen to her teachings, while he would sit elsewhere with a book in his hand. Him. The cause of all of my suffering. If it weren't for what I learned from that loving woman he would have already been gone. I almost did it once. I came so close to dropping that stone upon him, and ending all this for good. But I just couldn't bring myself to take the life of my own sibling. My flesh. My blood. Both I share with a being who's very name means pain. Knives. He is the embodiment of what I hate most about myself. I know he's right. That we're not human. That humans destroy the planet. I can't stand by while he carries out his plans and not do something about it. I owe her more than that. Rem. I will be strong Rem. I won't let him hurt anybody. I'll carry on your vision of a brighter future. You told me red is the color of determination. Well, I am determined to keep on the path. The path before me is blank. I need only step in the right places to leave my mark on it. But my tracks are becoming jumbled. I can't see anymore. A fog covers my way, and I stumble. Another one died. I couldn't save him. He chose to take his own life, but I feel as if I was the one behind the trigger. Help me Rem! Help me find a purpose for being. I've begun to stray. A dear friend of mine is gone now. Again I tripped, and this time no one was there to catch me. What should I do? Where should I go from here? Please tell me Rem. Which path is the correct one? There's someone behind my gun now. I don't know what to do. He says such horrible things. He was sent here by Knives, but I know he has something against me. What did I do to deserve such torment? Why am I put in these situations. No! He activates it. The weapon that only we possess. I don't want to hurt anyone else. Please.....
" Your ticket to the future is always...blank."

Smoker's Anonymous
By: J-chan
For probably the millionth time in his life, Nicholas D. Wolfwood lit up another cigarette and took a long puff from it. At about the same time, the tall brunette to his left snatched it out of his mouth and stubbed it out on the ground. He turned and gave her an incredulous look.
"What the hell did you do that for?!" He yelled.
"Nicholas!! Watch your language mister!!" Milly shouted and grabbed him by the ear.
She dragged him down the hall past a surprised vash, and headed for the bathroom. Vash grinned mischeiviously and followed the pair to see what was up. When he reached the bathroom he heard sounds of distress coming from inside the room, and when he opened the door he beheld Milly struggling madly to stuff a bar of soap into Wolfwood's mouth. Wolfwood Reached out a desperate hand to vash.
"Tongari, help me!! Get this sadistic she-devil off of meee!!"
"Sorry pal, you do the crime you pay the price."
Vash waved and walked away as Wolfwood screamed after him about Needle-noggined traitors and the like. He couldn't help but imagine just how cutethe twowould be as a married couple, and he grinned widely as images of Wolfwood taking out the trash and doing the laundry and dishes flashed through his mind. As he rounded the corner he collided with Meryl and knocked her on her butt. She shot up from the floor and glared daggers at him.
"Vash! Watch where you're going you big lunk head!!" She screeched.
"Oh, I'm sorry Meryl. Are you ok?" He asked.
Without giving him an answer, Meryl left the hallway in a huff. For a few moments Vash wondered what could be her problem, before a large crash was heard from the bathroom, and Wolfwood came tearing down the hallway past the startled gunman, foaming at the mouth and yelling "INJUSTICE!!" as he ran. Not far behind him stampeded Milly full intent on capturing him and completing his 'punishment'. Fortunately for Wolfwood Vash convinced Milly to leave him alone, and then the blonde got an idea. He got a wonderful idea. He whispered his wonderful idea to Milly and she beamed with happiness. Wolfwood was getting a little worried, especially because of the looks he was getting from Milly, and it made him a little nervous.
"NICHOLAS WAKE UP!!"
Wolfwood leapt out of bed scared Shitless and thinking that they were being invaded. He grabbed his cross, completely forgetting his lack of clothing, and ran into the main room. He realized very quickly his mistake.
"WHAA!!? MR. WOLFWOOD PUT SOME PANTS ON!!!!" Meryl cried covering up her eyes.
"I knew that cross was to compensate for something." Vash chuckled under his breath.
Milly however was forced to run to the bathroom for tissues because she had one of the worst nosebleeds of her life.
"Milly, are you ok?" Meryl said and followed her.
This left only Vash and one very confused and very naked Wolfwood in the room alone. Vash laughed and turned away blushing. Wolfwood looked at him with a mixture of confusion and anger.
"And just what the hell is so funny?!" He roared.
"Oh, nothing....It's just so....small."
And with that the outlaw took off running with Wolfwood hot on his heels. Having nowhere else to go Vash headed for his room and started to lock the door, but before he could Wolfwood battered the door down and to Vash's surprise, jumped on him and pinned him down. Vash screamed.
"AAAHHH GET OFF OF ME, YOU'RE NAKED!!!!!!" He began to flail about.
"Uh uh. I wanna see just what makes me smaller than you." Wolfwood retorted.
He began to undo the buttons on Vash's coat. Vash screamed and wailed, and kicked and fought, and Wolfwood had just managed to get his coat off, when Milly and Meryl walked in the door. Meryl's eyes rolled up into her head and she fainted, while her partner excused herself to go get more tissues, seeing as how her nosebleed had started up again. Vash took that opportunity to push Wolfwood off of himself and, grabbing his coat, he stepped over Meryl and fled the room to ensure Milly that it 'wasn't what it looked like'. Wolfwood sat up and went back to his room to put some clothes on. They had defintely had enough excitement for one morning.
When he was fully clothed and his personal hygeine was taken care of, Wolfwood went back into the family room and found his companions had recovered somewhat. Meryl still shot him disgusted glares, but she did that anyway so it wasn't much of a difference. He turned to Milly who was busy making pancakes.
"So Milly, what was it that you wanted to tell me before...the chaos?"
"Oh, I just wanted to let you know that I've enrolled you in a smoker's anonymous class, and that we'll be attending it today at noon." She smiled. "I'm going to do everything in my power to help you quit this horrible habit whether you like it or not."
Having said her peice she turned around and finished up with breakfast. Wolfwood's face went pale. How could she expect him to just up and quit something he had been doing since he was twelve?! It was madness! That was like telling Vash he had to quit eating donuts-Wait a minute....It was perfect! The perfect plan to get revenge on Vash for his comment earlier. He directed his attention toward the blonde and formed a mischievious smile.
"All right Milly, I'll do it. On one condition."
"Yes?" She asked.
"I'll do it if Vash gives up donuts."
Upon hearing this Vash spluttered in his orange juice spraying it everywhere. He looked up at Wolfwood with pleading eyes.
"You can't do this!! I'm sorry about the size comment earlier, but please don't take my donuts away! Please reconsider Wolfwood! Have mercy!!" Vash was all but crying at this point.
"Geeze Tongari, they're just donuts." Wolfwood couldn't understand the man's infatuation with the doughy food.
"I think it's a good idea." Meryl piped up. "It'll teach that no good broom-head some self control, and we'll have more money without having to buy him donuts everyday."
"Then it's settled!" Milly said. "Mr. Vash will quit donuts, and Nicholas will quit smoking."
"This is gonna be worst few months of my life." Wolfwood muttered.
"Speak for yourself." Vash groaned.
Over the next few months as Wolfwood had put it, the two men were going through veritable hell. Wolfwood was constantly flipping the top of a lighter open and closed, and the sound of it made Meryl want to pull her hair out by the roots. Meanwhile Vash had taken to chewing the ends of his gloves to satiate his donut cravings, and it was costing even more than donuts were to replace the leather gloves he bit holes in. The smoker's and donut eater's anonymous classes were really helping, but every once in a while the girls would catch Wolfwood with a cigarette, or vash with a donut, and the problem would be dealt with. Soon enough though it worked. Wolfwood didn't sneak anymore cigarettes and there was not a donut crumb to be found on Vash. Everything was perfect. Or so the girls thought.
One night Milly and Meryl were awakened to noises coming from Vash's room so they went to investigate. Upon opening the door they saw Vash and Wolfwood loading up a huge stash of their favorite items: Donuts and Cigarettes. As soon as they spotted the girls they both cursed in unison and jumped out of the window with their spoils. The girls watched in shock as the two hoodlums made off into the night on Wolfwood's motorcycle. From the bike Vash flashed them the love and peace sign then stuck his tongue out. Milly turned to her friend.
"Where did we go wrong Meryl? I thought they didn't like that stuff anymore."
"Well Milly, just goes to show you you can never expect men to be smart enough to listen to reason."
"Do you think they'll come back?"
"Once they run out of money. It's a known fact that men just can't survive without women around to help them out."
"Amen to that!"

I want to apologize to Mr. Wolfwood and hisfansfor what I wroteabout him. "GomenNick." I kinda felt that this had a slight shonen-ai feel to it, but I was on the verge of writing a yaoi for Adult and well, I'm sorry if I offended any one. On a lighter note however, I had fun writing this and I hope you'll all read and enjoy. J-chan

Arguments, Bullets, and Bounty Hunters
By: Ax
"Doesn't anything in that spikey yellow head of yours work vash?!" Yelled a very pissed off priest.
" I'm sorry! I just couldn't help myself! She was such a hottie too!!" The blonde yelled back.
Wolfwood and Vash were once again on the run after they had stopped in a small town called JR. Unfortunately for the two this town just so happened to be inhabited by nothing but bounty hunters and their families. Vash had made the mistake of revealing his identity to a pretty girl and was shocked beyond words when she immediately aimed a gun at him. This caught the attention of everyone around him, and not soon after he and Wolfwood bolted from the town, dragging Angelina 2 with them. The bike had chosen that day of all days to break down and Wolfwood just couldn't leave it. Currently they were being chased down by what amounted to the entire population of the bounty hunter town.
"Geeze, I should have just left your ass back with that girl and her grandma!" Wolfwood fumed.
"Gee, thank's for your kindness friend." Vash said sarcastically.
He pulled out his gun and shot two more bullets out of the air that were headed Wolfwood's way. But instead of acknowledging this Wolfwood pulled out a cigarette and tried to light up as he ran.
"If you really CARE I just saved your life TWICE!" Vash shouted.
Wolfwood looked up lazily and blew a smoke ring at him.
"What did you say? I didn't hear you?"
"GRRRR!!!"
With a growl Vash let go of his hold on the bike and ran ahead of Wolfwood. It wasn't his fault if the preist ended up with a bullet in the back. He should pay more attention to what he was doing and then maybe he wouldn't run into trouble. Distracted by his thoughts, Vash was caught off gaurd when a bullet found its mark in his shoulder, and he stumbled into the sand.
"Oww! Dammit that hurt! Why do these things always happen to me?!"
"Because you're Vash The Stampede, that's why."
Wolfwood said, and helped him to his feet. The two continued on and soon lost the bounty hunters. They took shelter in a small cave Vash spotted on the horizon. Vash nervously scanned the cave walls for signs of danger. Wolfwood came over and slapped him on the shoulder. The wounded shoulder.
"OWWWW!!" Vash cried in pain.
"What's- Oh look, blood." Wolfwood said before he promptly passed out.
About five minutes later the comatos preist regained conciousness and blinked a few times, before looking over at Vash, who was glaring at him and holding his shoulder protectively. Wolfwood rose and went over to where vash was sitting, only to have the blonde gunman recoil in horror and turn away from him with a fearful expression on his face.
"No! Stay away!" Vash yelled.
"C'mon Tongari, let me look at it! The bullet might still be in there!" Wolfwood shouted back.
"No, it isn't! I'm fine! I don't need any help! Stay back!!"
Vash quickly scooted away from Wolfwood, but the other man was too fast and he tackled the gunslinger, and pinned him to the ground. Vash struggled madly for a few minutes but finally gave up and let Wolfwood look at his shoulder. Wolfwood unbuttoned Vash's coat carefully and tossed it in a corner, then surveyed the wound with practiced concentration. A wince crossed Vash's face as Wolfwood felt around the wound to check for broken bones or torn muscles. Finding none he shifted Vash around and looked for an exit wound. Nothing! sweat-dropping he turned to Vash and put on his best doctor's voice.
"Well Vash,....it looks like the bullet is still in there....so....I....I'll have to....remove it. Brace yourself."
Vash gulped and squeezed his eyes shut as Wolfwood jammed his fingers into the wound and felt around for the little peice of metal, that could cause major problems if not removed immediately. As Wolfwood worked he was vaguely aware that Vash was uttering the most foul words he had ever heard under his breath. He absentmindedly wondered just where vash had picked up such language, then decided it was best not to ponder on it. If he was in pain then let him say what he wants, we're both adults here. After much searching, prodding, and an ear-piercing screech from Vash, the bullet was safely removed and the wound was bandaged. Vash sat up and rubbed his eyes. He examined the bandage and, seeing that everything was fine, rebuttoned his coat. Wolfwood had long since lit another cigarette and was already halfway through it. He walked over to the pitiful heap that was the Angelina 2 and began to work on it. Vash sweatdropped.
"Wolfwood what are we gonna do if you can't fix that thing by morning?"
"That THING Vash is my baby; and don't you dare insult her, or I won't remove the next bullet you get lodged in yourself."
Vash wimpered. "Have you so little faith in me Wolfwood?"
"Only when it comes to you keeping yourself out of trouble." Wolfwood chuckled.
The rest of the night was spent talking, around a small campfire Vash had managed to get going. The main topics of conversation were about one another's pasts, and by the end of the evening they knew just about everything about each other. Wolfwood withheld the part about his role as a gung ho gun, and vash never said anything about not being human, but other than that it was quite a pleasent night. That next morning however would prove to be quite different.
BOOM "OH CRAP!!! Wolfwood's gonna kill me!!"
Wolfwood shot straight up from where he lay and ran outside. He beheld Vash, covered from head to toe in soot, standing next to a smoking crater in the ground, and looking like the guiltiest man in the world. Wolfwood walked over to the smoking hole and his hands shook in anger as he bent over and picked up what was left of the license plate to Angelina 2. Vash cautiously tried to inch away but it was too late, Wolfwood had spotted him.
"VASH!!!!!!!"
"I'M SORRY!!!!!"
Vash took off and never looked back as Wolfwood grabbed his cross punisher and gave chase. The hunt was on. As for the bounty hunters....well.....they went home.

Well I hope you all thought it was hilarious. I apologize for what I did to Vash-san, but it seemed like a good bit of irony at the time. also, I just couldn't resist making Vash cuss. Heck, I would too in that situation. Well, happy reading, and if you all reply, I'll post more stories.

As I tread softly into the realm of insanity, I think of anime. ^.^
2005-05-13 20:30:29
Hello there, I am Ax The Typhoon. I love anime and just about anything having to do with it. I am a die-hard fan of Trigun so if anyone ever wants to talk about Vash, Wolfwood, Knives, or just wants to bash Meryl for an hour, come talk to me. I also am runing into a little dillema. I really want to make some banners for the site, but I don't know how. Can anyone help me? Domo .
