JOURNAL: Anime_AJ (Eijie Ashiyama)

  • Today This Ends 2024-05-30 21:54:36 17 years ago I edited my very first live-action music video. It featured the movie TRANSFORMERS, directed by Michael Bay, put to "What I've Done" by Linkin Park. Now I've done it again. Follow the link below to see the new and improved version of my first-ever live-action music video project!

  • 2024 Production Season 2024-05-28 21:52:22 You'd think I'd be on top of these journal entries to keep track of important announcements for any of the AMVs I've been editing this year. But, by Neptune, I've been preoccupied with IRL obligations or getting a music video project out by the end of any particular month that I've neglected not only any semblance of a livestream schedule but also any announcements regarding my AMVs.

We are nearing the end of May now and so far I have put out a new DBZ AMV, the fourth and final rendition of my channel trailer, and a new Transformers AMV. Speaking of Transformers, the main reason I'm posting now of all times is to announce my next project!

In 2007, back when I still had my own website, I went to theaters and saw the first live-action TRANSFORMERS movie (direct by Michael Bay). As soon as the end credits began playing, featuring Linkin Park's "What I've Done," I immediately came up with an idea for a Transformers music video. Sometime after the end of summer that year, the movie was released on DVD and I went out and bought it. Within days, I had it ripped and began editing my first live-action music video. It originally premiered on my old website and there it would sit until the registration expired sometime in 2008. When I attempted to upload it to my YouTube channel in 2011/12, I discovered that my copy had become corrupted. Fast-forward to 2020, when I returned to making AMVs, this video became one that I felt would be worthy of a remake and so I set the idea aside until I was ready.

In March 2024, I began editing my AMV featuring the animated "The Transformers: The Movie," put to Linkin Park's "New Divide," and premiered it in April. This was the catalyst that kept me going with my editing. The remake of my live-action Transformers video entered post-production at the start of May and I've spent the majority of the time reviewing and tweaking it while working on my latest anime music videos. Stay tuned for my next entry to grab the link!
  • 300 2023-10-01 00:11:08 Ahoy, productioneers! So I finished my latest music video project, and uploaded it to my YouTube channel. Would you like to check it out? So far, this makes 8 music videos this production season. I am also grateful that I completed my project featuring the movie "300" and put to the song "Sparta" by Sabaton.

A project that was two years in the making. Upon its conception and initiation, in 2021, this project was set aside in favor of my anime music video projects. And over two years it would prove itself somewhat difficult to gain much momentum during each re-visitation. However, during the summer of 2023, with fewer ideas taking hold of my attention, attempts to reconcile the timeline into a complete video had finally borne fruit. After barely a month, this project finally reached post-production phase and my desire to tell this story was fulfilled. Aside from it being one of Joakim's favorite historical battles, the song makes direct references to dialogue spoken in the movie, which were also key parts that inspired this project. And now, with its completion, prepare to eat hearty.
  • 2023 Production Season 2023-02-13 23:43:30 Ahoy, productioneers! And all you lovely editors here at A-M-V.org!

I know I haven't typed a journal entry since last May, and that is because some stuff happened last June and since then I have diverted my focus away from those events. I also spent more time watching more anime, among other things, and concluded my 2022 Production Season successfully. And so I am launching my next season of making AMVs and I hope you'll join me for some interesting projects this year. My first premiere will be tomorrow on Valentine's Day.

Now that my first 2023 premiere is being prepped, I also want to let any of you out there reading this know that this year's A-M-V.org Viewers' Choice Awards has also begun and I posted my list of music videos for those who find them worth of nomination. I hope you'll support me, or at least that you enjoy the videos I have shared.

I'll be back to announce when my project for March will be ready for its premiere, as for the rest of the year I have yet to decide which projects will be brought down the pipe line and put into the upcoming production queue. I've uploaded a couple of previews on my YouTube channel, and after tomorrow's premiere I will be focusing on more live streams on Twitch.

However you choose to have fun, always hold on to your passion!
