AWA? Definitely!
2003-08-12 09:30:31
I just bought my plane ticket to Atlanta! I'll be arriving Thursday afternoon. I have to go see the NES and DDR projects... not to mention meet a bunch of people! AWA was awesome last year and I am pretty sure it will be this year. It's a lot of fun to meet the people behind the videos you know.
Hope to see you there!

Eat-Man '98
2003-05-17 11:52:18
I am in the middle of watching Eat-Man '98 for the second time. I recently bought the dvd set so I figured a 2nd viewing was in order (I saw it the first time 2-3 years ago.
The show is a bit like Berserk, Trigun, and Hellsing all crammed into a blender. The character style is very much Vash/Alucard (well minus wacky Vash). The animation, while generally quite good, sometimes goes into Berserk mode with sliding stills etc. This is ok, but sometimes more effort into those scenes instead of others might have made for a better overall experience.
Sadly the first 2 episodes are not very good represenatives. While they present some back story I think the third/fourth episode are much more along the lines of what the show is all about.
Another interesting aspect, that is a bit Trigun like, is that the characters around Eat-Man ("Bolt Crank" is his name) change with each episode (or set of episodes). Sometimes this leads to an oddity where the show is centered around other characters and Bolt just shows up in the end and 'wins.' :P
The Ambrosian Days episodes are probably some of the best. This is a series of 4 episodes surrounding a number of plots. Unlike shows where there may be one bad guy and one reason for the bad guy, Eat-Man '98 seems to try to at least expand slightly further out...
Another aspect I haven't mentioned is the music. I bought the audio CD long before I bought the dvd set. The music is great for this show. Of course I can't say ALL of it is great but most of it is. Some of the music comes across as though it was borrwed from super nintendo final fantasy games... while the best music sounds like it could be from Trigun or Hellsing.
Oh yeah, did I mention the main character eats things and then spawns them out of his hand? (mostly metal)
=) Well worth the $28 (12 episode set).

Short video.

When I was working on my Hellsing video... and even during my z-mind video I wanted to use the end of the song Tikal for a short Hellsing trailer.
I finished it! :)

It's a no spoilers trailer for the show, that's about it.
Off to editing more stuff!
