My latest is complete! Lots of fun. :)
Also I seem to have found the problem with my video card.
The latest Via 4in1 drivers don't work right. I randomly found someone mentioning in a forum that they used version 4.40 (latest = 4.43) and it solved the whole "amd + via chipset = 3d game freezes" issue. So far so good... I have high hopes, but am still quite concerned that more freezing might come up. But until that time I can finally play a couple of 3d games again! :) -

haha... oh well... installing xp for the 3rd time was fun in hopes that a clean machine would fair better....

to anyone who honestly is thinking of quitting amvs because the video is just 'so good':
You might want to question why you started editing in the first place... It's just a video. It's NOT* a flawless gift from god. If every new video that comes out is 'koop-style' I am going to switch over to watching linkinballz. I don't think the video is a bar setter. I'd rather see koop make these kinds of videos than have everyone on the planet do them. He obviously had a good time doing the video and I don't see any reason why someone else should suddenly be obligated to do the same...

I think it just might have... I just did the unspeakable. I ordered a new video card. The ole tnt2 ultra is being retired! :P

It doesn't come with any editing software... but if you break some of the pins off the connecter it's KIND OF LIKE INVERT LOOKING AND STUFF!!! OMW!!!

PC COMPATIBLE!!! OMW!!!
and finally... the best part ... the FAN STILL WORKS!!! OMW!!

I still remember the fateful day I parted with $250 for this card at a local store (pre online shopping days for me). I was very happy with it at the time and still am now. I even had a 'cool' setup where I ran this and 2 12mb 3dfx v2 cards... crazy 3d days. :P
It's a good card and I must applaud nVidia and Diamond Multimedia for their work. It was able to handle some of the latest games at tolerable framerates even. At almost 3 1/2 years old it's still quite impressive. (if I recall right I, bought it in the fall of 1999)

Replacement card = Gainward TI4200... I don't like the latest and greatest cards with their $300-500 price tags... they just don't wow me... -

Things are going generally well for me.
I spent some time updating my site tonight... only to have the most recent of my changes lost after my computer reset out of nowhere... oh well. I finally put up how to make the striping/piano effect since a number of people have asked about it. =) I had another effect I was adding but then my comp reset... so whoops guess that one won't be on the web haha.
I'll add more effects as I remember them. :P
My work situation is now solidified and I will be an actual fulltime employee very soon! Software Engineer by day, and editor by... uhm ... rest of the time.
... now I just need an otaku girlfriend and life will be extra sweet ...
