  • Retirement 2017-12-13 18:19:02 So, I've been thinking on this for the past few months now and I think it's time I made it official. I'm retiring from AMVs. As much as I enjoy the art of AMVs, my creative interest in that art have dwindled greatly. I've not had an actual AMV idea in months, and even then I lost the creative spark needed to finish it within a matter of days. To me, this is so much more than my usual editing slumps that I get into on occasion, with those at least little sparks of ideas flow, with this, nothing. It's as though my creative energy in regards to AMVs is just completely gone.
I'm still more than willing to help my editing friends with their AMV projects, but it's time I put the idea of being an AMV editor myself, behind me.
To clarify, I'll still continue to focus on AMV coordination, because the back end of AMV contests is an awesome challenge that I love attempting to tackle every opportunity I get, but the creative process of the art is past me.
  • 2014-08-29 17:05:04 Yes, I AM one of those weird AMV editors that works on eight different videos at once, it's not like I have A.D.D or anything, I promise. ~__~
  • Post AX entry/post con plague 2014-07-15 20:13:26 So, aside form having an epic time at Anime Expo this year, I also contracted a severe case of the con plague (which is still kicking the crap outta me by the way) One of the major highlights of the con was getting to meet a personal idol of mine, the Famous Pwolf. I was tempted to ask him for an autograph, but I was a little afraid I'd come off as weird for no good reason, I also got to meet ShinAMV who gave me some awesome tips on improving lip sync.

One thing that REALLY stood out for me this convention was that nearly every well known AMV editor I met said that they've either heard of me, or seen my videos, which really boosted my editing confidence.

My slot in the creator's spotlight went exceptionally well this year, and from what I could tell people loved the video I premiered. I'm pretty happy with myself this year cause I actually mustered up the courage to give my videos a proper presentation without sputtering or goofing up the lines I'd rehearsed.

All in all, this year's Anime Expo really changed things for me AMV-wise, I feel I'm in the right direction when it comes to becoming a better editor.

Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go hide under my desk while wrapped in a blanket burrito for the remainder of the day, good night everybody.
  • Anime Expo Creator's Spotlight/Random thoughts+new AMV 2014-05-28 03:54:26 So, from the looks of things, I'll be premiering a new AMV at the Anime Expo Creator's Spotlight once I get confirmation on a few things. This will be quite a diversion from my usual editing motive, as I generally don't do too many "Upbeat" AMVs. But, depending on the reception it gets at the Creator's Spotlight, I'll decide whether or not I'll be uploading it to the Org and/or YouTube. In truth, I'm both REALLY happy about his video and really worried that nobody's going to like it, (even though everyone who's seen it thus far has loved it.) I think my main concern is, that since I don't really have too many friends in the AMV community, that I can really get enough proper feedback from, so for all I know, the video isn't as good as it could be. Yes, I'm rambling, I do that when I'm sick, I'll stop now
