Talk about timing

Way back at the beginning of November, I went to the local anime shop and ordered the Berserk box set. Well, weeks passed, it became the middle of December, and the set still hadn't shown up. The guy at the store said it was an older set, hard to get, so we basically left it in limbo and he said he'd call if he ever got it.
Heh, surprise surprise... I got a call today from him saying he finally had it =P So that kind of brightens up my week.

Manga Book Club

OK, so I slept in late - AGAIN! And I didn't get out to the places I was going to go check on for jobs - AGAIN! If I wasn't so dependent on modern society and technology, I might as well just become a hermit. I hear you can do that over in England, the government supports them at least to a degree. You just have to live completely, totally like a hermit. That sucks.
The highlight of the day though was the first meeting of a new manga book club at the local Barnes & Noble. It was a bit chaotic and there wasn't any actual discussion of the chosen manga (Trinity Blood), but hopefully it will become more controlled and productive over time. It was nice to finally be able to talk face to face with other people about anime and manga, because I do not know anyone personally who shares my interests. Nt one single friend... it can be lonely somtimes =/
The downside was most of those who showed up were high school age, probably a good 8 years younger than me at the most. Makes me feel like Methuselah (and no, not a methuselah from Trinity Blood, no pun intended).
And it's a good thing I spent all that money this month getting caught up on the Bleach manga, because that will be next meeting's topic of discussion.
I've also been prodded again to start on my first video, so I'll rewatch Requiem soon to begin looking for good clips. I'll get that 2nd hard drive as early next month as possible to rip the discs and begin the actual editing. -

People are strange.
I just got done having half a weird conversation with a couple of guys at the message board on Progulus. One was asking the usual tired questions of "Have you found a job yet?" and "What are you looking to do?" I don't know how many times people have asked me that, you lose track after the first few dozen.
The other guy... a friend and I often wonder if he's bi-polar. Tonight he was talking all Shakespearian, with the Thees and Haveths and Dost Thous. I pretty much ignored it and talked regular.
At least the rest of the day was good. Hung out with my friend who is kind of the younger brother I never had, and took in a good haul of manga and anime (always a good day when you can do that).
There need to be other people online right now, sane people. Well, mostly sane at least.
Going to kick my rear in gear this week and start writing some fanfiction. I've got ideas back up from years ago.
And I'm glad my journalizing has made you happy, sKy =P
I'm gonna go zone out on some videos now. -
Start at the beginning...

Although the actual making of AMVs is still a little ways away, I've decided to start up on the journal thing, but it won't be updated much til the process finally gets rolling. The biggest roadblock at the moment is needing a second hard drive. If I could have every bit of space on my current one available... 60 GB still wouldn't be enough. And I probably won't be getting one til next month because there's still alot of DVDs coming out this month... and the anime takes priority =P
A little about my goals. I'm going to use bands that are not represented at all around here (except for maybe one song here and there), and try to use anime that haven't been AMV'd to infinity (unless I just cant help myself getting an idea for certain series). And I only intend to use series that are completely out, with minor exceptions.
Right now I've got 4 ideas simmering on the back burner. The first two - "A Morbid Theme" & "Seventh Angel" (using Requiem from the Darkness & Haibane Renmei respectively) should hopefully be done by this spring, but don't hold me to that.
The next 2 are "Abusing The Devil" & "Christo" (using Devil Lady & Gankutsuou), so those will get worked on over the summer. After that I might play with another couple of ideas to round out the year.
So that's about it for the first entry. I'll come here if anything interesting happens, whether it's vid related, or concerning my fanfiction work, or if just anything zany or cool happens.
