Ani-Review: Read or Die

Read or Die is Awesome.
There. I said it. It's just plain awesome. That being said, on to the review!
Read or Die is only a 3 episode OVA, but what an amazing 3 episodes it is. Filled with awesome action, great suspense, and one of the coolest powers I've ever seen (Paper magic, who would've guessed?), This slick, stylish OVA is one well worth watching. Using great characters and animation and a good dub, you can't help but like this OVA. Although short, and not really anything that jumps out at you, it's still one of the most enjoyable OVAs you'll see. Trust me.

Mang Review: Negima!

Summary: Negi Springfield is a wizard in training who, after competing his enrollment in a magic school in wales, is assigned to be an english teacher in a japanese school. Problem is, he's only 10 years old! Add the fact that it's an all-girls school, (and the fact that this is by Ken Akamatsu) ensures that this is gonna be one wild ride!
Art: 9/10
I particularly liked the characters and expressions (and the fanservice! XD) in this one. Akamatsu has a really good style of drawing. (panty shots! XD... okay, enough with the jokes...) Good stuff. (Insert your own joke...)
Characters: 9/10
The characters in this manga are, simply put, outrageous. You've got everything from the suck-up to the quiet girl to the... robot? Even weirder, a vampire? It's amazing how diverse the characters are. Each of Negi's 31 syudents has a personallity of their own... the only thing is, some of the characters aren't as fleshed out as some of the others, althouth that's probably because I haven't read all the volumes yet.
Story: 8/10
The story is one of those 'random day to day' styles... think Ranma 1/2. (except not as insane) I particularly like this style, but if you don't, this might not be your ideal pick. The story IS funny, though, and includes all kinds of romantical hijinks & such, and I think it's great.
Translation: (q'.')b (Ok...) The translation was shaky. I don't know how they got southern out of thousand, but the honorifics bump up the average to OK.
Overall: 9/10
A shaky translation can't hide the fun to be had in this manga, and there's plenty of it. Reccomended to anyone who wants a good time.

Anime Review: Arjuna

Summary: On her way to the ocean with her boyfriend, Tokio, Juna dies. She is given another chance, though, by a kid named chris. Chris gives her life back, but now she must become a sort of 'guardian' of the earth. She has to find ways to defeat the 'Rhaja' and save the earth, thouth the way she goes about it is really trippy. Come to think of it, this anime's preety trippy overall.
Animation: 9/10
Great stuff here, they really put the CG to use. The best parts are the 'visions'. Very trippy. Great stuff.
Characters: 8/10
The characters in this were really good. they all have their own views of the world and life, and the way Tokio and Juna contrast each other is great. Lots of character development, too.
Story: 8/10
The story is a little weird at times, as Juna trips out a lot. The story's pretty enviromentalist...okay, it's a lot enviromentalist,. But it's still very good.
Dub: (b'.')b A really good dub. The voice casting was perfect. If only all dubs were this good...
Overall: 9/10
Really great series, even if it is short. (13 eps.) Be aware, though, it is trippy and enviromental. Now while that may seem like a weird combination, Arjuna pulls it off spectacularly. Reccomended.
On an unrelated note, L'arc-en-ciel = PURE OWNAGE. Deal with it.
