Manga Review: Fruits Basket

Summary:
Tohru Honda, who was living in the woods while her grandfather's house gets remodeled, stumbles upon the Sohma household. There she finds "Prince" Yuki, one of the most popular guys among the girls at her school, and Shigure, a novelist who owns the house. Yuki, surprised by Tohru's appearance on their property, finds her living in a tent on the edge of the hill. Yuki and Shigure invite her to their house, and while their, her tent gets caught in a landslide. Feeling sorry for her, Shigure and Yuki invite her to stay at their place until the remodelings. The problem is, the Sohmas live with a curse. Whenever one of them is hugged by a member of the opposite sex, they transform into a sign of the zodiac. Tohru inevitably finds out, amnd mayhem insures (Maybe mayhem isn't the right word.)
Art: 8/10
Nothing too spectacular, not much for fights, but it is a Shoujo manga, after all. Great character design, though.
Characters: 10/10
The best part. Every character has his or her own distinct personallity, and all of them are unforgettable. From the fireball Kyo to the energetic Momiji, to ...Ayame (insert your own title here), every characcter is different and great.
Story: 9/10
The story, while slow at first, gets progressivly good as you meet all the different characters.The story allows for very good character development, and is both touching and funny. I like funny.
Translation: (b'.')b (Thumbs-up). Even has honorifics.
Overall: 9/10
Overall, the great characters make this a great read for anyone who's interested in a great (albeit long) story. A must read for anyone who even slightly likes Shoujo manga. Highly reccomended.

Like anyone cares. Oh, and I decided to use this space to write reviews on Manga, Anime, & other stuff (games & such). You probably don't care, anyways. Oh well.

Well, I finally got the blue 1, and I found Negima Fansubs, so I'm happy. I also finally got internet on my computer. yay.
One question, though...why are you people reading this? Come to think of it, why an I writing this?

Well, I don't hate the physical school itsel, because it's pretty nice, and the teachers are fine, it's the students I can't handle. I mean out of all the schools I could have gotten stuck at, I had to get stuck at MTV middle school. :P It doesn't all suck though, as there are a few good clubs and a few nice people. But seriously, name any stereotype and I'll make you a list. A loooooong list.
On anunrelated note, they have Kingdom Hearts manga. Yay. - Oops. 2005-03-30 13:58:59 I meant hits on that last one. :P
