JOURNAL: FurryCurry

  • Aaaannnnd I'm off... 2002-12-10 13:29:10 ...again. these trips are tiring me out, and stopping me from having time to edit lately.

Well, I'll be back before Christmas, and won't hve to do another till January, which ought to be the last one quite a while.

There will DEFINITELY be some editing days between Xmas & New Year's, hopefully enough to finish one of my Short amv tracks, and get a good start on my NES project track too.

Time to load the suitcase in the car...
  • So off I go... 2002-11-14 01:35:38 Well, just about done getting ready to take off tomorrow morning.

It's a strange situation when I'm almost wishing I didn't have to go to Maui, even though the trip will be more fun than work. Too much unresolved crap going on around here to totally relax. I actually want to start some video projects that I'm holding off on till my return, too.

Chances are, a week and a half away from computers & the internet will probably do me some good. I hope a couple days in the sun will clear my head, and let me shake these gloomy-weather blues. Seems I'm not the only one getting them, from some of the journal posts I've been reading lately. :-/

I hope to return rested and with a clear head, ready to dive back into my life, and take charge of things with an iron fist. (yeah- that'll last for about a whole week) :p

If you're feeling down, may I recommend reading RallyGirlVincent's journal entries?
They are so sunny & hyper & funny, they always bring a chuckle & a little ray of sun to my day.

    Keep at it, girl! :D

Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I get back the night before Thanksgiving as planned, so I can see some family & friends on T-day!
  • New stuff on the radar 2002-11-12 00:22:03 Well, I was given a track assignment for the NES project, and I'm looking forward to being a part of that.

I already think I know what I'll be using for the anime, and the song is set, of course.

Just a couple more days to go till I take off on a trip.
Wasn't planning this one, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

At least I expect to be back home for Thanksgiving, and I had time to raid a bookstore today, so I'll have some good reading for the plane & evenings.

Requested a track or two on the short punk song project, if the response is quick enough, I might even be able to take a little editing "work" with me on the laptop ;)
  • Happy Halloweenie 2002-10-31 13:52:04 Sucess at last! Well, sorta. I finally completed an upload of my vid for the CSUN AMV contest. After full disks, broken transfers with no resuming, and a server outage, I finally got the file up there. At least I used the wait to fix one little nagging problem with my vid before I deleted the project files, and do a nice looking mpeg2 encode of it.

Now if they allow my vid to be played at the contest, I'll be content. o.O

I also have a little "Halloween present" for you all. (or dirty trick, depends how you look at it) I'm currently uploading a nice XviD version of my slightly fixed vid, along with a new mpeg1 version. (just to fix a tiny bit of flicker in one scene)Linkage in my vid's thread when it's done.

I've had more fun than learning how do make a half decent XviD encode, or using using smoothers & deinterlacers properly, but I feel the time investment is worth it at this point, after the way the XviD version turned out.

There's always room to learn more, and no doubt I'll be doing so in the near future.

Bad Grammar disclaimer: I was up messing with this encoding stuff till a quarter past 7 this morning. I am SOOOOO not awake.
  • Tell it, mang! 2002-10-27 19:15:14 Woohoo!
    /me high fives Mroni

Tell it, mang. Too many people have forgotten or never knew the real reason behind the second amendment, and an excess of easily offended, ivory tower UncleMiloism is one of the reasons I worked so hard to get the hell out of California.

People up here have a different perspective, where you might pull up your window shade & find a bear looking curiously back at you. (this happened to me last week)

I don't think I'll be able to hold out any longer, I think I'll rip a few discs for my new project tonight.
