Phew - time flies

So I resolved after Anime North to update this journal more often.
Um...yeah...
Well, it's only been maybe a month since then? A month and a couple of weeks? That's not bad, right?
Unfortunately I can't say there's been much progress in the video editing world. I'm still gathering footage for my next Various, but a Fullmetal Alchemist video recently popped into my head and won't quite leave me alone. The only question is, do I want to do it without The Conqueror of Shambala, or wait to get the movie? They're coming out with a new edition of the movie that I really want to get, so I don't want to just settle for the regular edition and then buy a new one.
Dilemma dilemma. Bad enough that I had to scrap my last project for the time being. The four series just didn't want to mesh, and when you look at a video and know it neesd work, but can't figure out how to fix it... yeah, drawing board time. ^^;
Well, I'm gonig to try and acquire more footage today. Wish me luck!

Anime North 2009
2009-05-28 13:24:52
With the close of the first convention that I've ever attended, I have resolved to work more fervently at things like...this journal!
Yeah, we'll see if that works...
At any rate, Anime North 2009 was this past weekend in Toronto, Ontario, and I actually managed to attend. For anyone else who was there, I was a Sango walking around (without a boomerang - you try getting something like that on an airplane), and usually in the company of Ky Kiske from Guilty Gear (he switched to Miroku for the last day of the convention <3).
It was awesome fun, and I was extremely excited to have 'Stand My Ground' entered in this year's contest...it didn't make it to the finals, but I'm not surprised. Due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to encoding and all that wonderful stuff, in trying to get the video into a file type that was acceptable to the contest, I managed to knock the audio off by about 5 seconds - and it made the opening of the video look horrible ; ;. Sadness. But at least I know what to watch out for next time.
For anyone who follows my profile, I made a comment when I posted 'Stand My Ground' that I had another video in the works...and at this point I've decided to abandon that project for the time being. My wonderful critic, Crystal_Water, pointed out several flaws in the first version of the video that I can't seem to work myself out of, and so I've put that video on the back burner until I can come up with something more, well... workable.
Once I return from my vacation this weekend, I'll be stating work on a new video- this one as a challenge from Crystal_Water, who wanted to see if I could make an AMV out of a random song that she threw at me ^^ I look forward to the challenge.

Do do do...and the award for the least updated journal goes to...!

Heh. I randomly decided to update this. I doubt anyone actually reads it, but oh well. ^^ It's another place for me to type and let my voice be heard, and I love to do that.
I finished up a new AMV last night, and premiered it this morning - 'Setsunakutemo'. It's rather simplistic, but I'm fairly proud of it regardless. It was a lot of fun making it.
A bit of sadness...because of my habit of just logging into the website and not checking the announcements, I failed to notice that an announcement had been made regarding the qualifications for the VCA07 - and as a result, failed to check off the box stating that all of my vidoes had been answered. Sadly, this resulted in my three 2006 vidoes - including 'Midnight Dream', my highest rated video to date - being disqualified for the VCAs. ._. A product of my own foolishness, but it saddens me nonetheless.
I am in the process of looking into attending some conventions and entering AMV contests there...nothing definite, but we'll see. ^^
And I'll try to update this more often. >.>

._.

Okay, first...I'm very very disappointed in the individual(s) who went to the record company that resulted in Evanenscence, Creed, and Seether getting banned from this site. Especially because, well, they probably are going to lose some business on this - I myself don't listen to the radio and such on a regular basis. If I find a new band or song that I like, I usually hear about it from the videos on this site, and then go by the CDs.
But I digress. That's not the point.
The point is that I made a video titled 'Immortality' to the anime NiteWalker about a year ago, and no longer have a copy of it. Losing access to the AMV.org copy meant I'd lost the only copy I had of it. So if anyone, anyone, has a copy of this video, I would really appreciate it if you could contact me either at aynsesa@aol.com or on AIM (Aynsesa). I'd like to try and figure out a way to get this video back in my hands. ~.~ I really hope this doesn't happen any more. Thank you.

And the beat goes on
2005-09-14 00:50:52
Wow, this video is already going faster than the last one I did. Completed the first 1:02 today - didn't go so bad. I finally figured out why I had a lack of Lunar clips. My PS ripper somehow screwed up and only ripped half the video images from the first disc - I went back and redid them, and hurray! We had video.
Still don't know what to do about resizing the images. They're exporting smaller than I want them to. I'm going to have to mess with that a bit.
Got the de-interlacing problem fixed as well. The footage is a little blurry, but it ends up being that way in the end anyway.
