When the facade falls
2008-12-07 05:06:18
Yesterday was one of the most tragic nights in Greece. The whole country mourns for the loss of a boy who acted like everyone his age acts. A boy who never managed to live his life as a cop shot him in cold blood after a word quarrel between 2 cops and a group of adolescents.
He was a 15-year old boy dammit. At an age where disputing with everyone and going against any kind of oppressive power is the norm. Noone likes police,we all know that. They act all mighty, never do their job well and when you need them, it's when they prove to be useless,or even more frightening, dangerous. 1 or 2 years ago, some cops beat the crap out of a university student and then claimed that he was hit by a flying pot.Talk about stupidity...
Some months ago,a friend of mine spent a night at jail because he has parked out of a house very late at night (2-3am). He was with a friend and they were eating when a cop approached them and asked them in an arrogant tone to search the car.He was sure they had drugs and when he found nothing,he took them to the police office. With no evidence at all, the police closed them at a cell and kept them there for 4 hours. And for this time period, they were treated like criminals...
Police...Fucking useless bastards

In chaos we believe...

2 quarters with negative development => recession => laying off employees => drop of public's market power => less consumption => less sales => negative balance sheet for companies => more laying off => major drop of salaries => major drop of sales => go on....
Seriously now, whoever has learnt a few economics in his/her life knows what the cycle of recession is. And yet,no fucking governemt has first taken measures to protect the salaries and the market power of the consumers.Everyone's attention went to banks who were responsible for this phenomenon in the first place. And ok,banks are needed for giving money to enterprises and consumers. But at least reduce their freedom a bit.
Make them give loans to enterprises and consumers under better terms.
Make them not get people's homes for petty sums.
Make them stop the tricky advertisements about good loan terms.
Make them obtain a more humane policy.
Make them respect us.
Don't let them control us.
I'm sick and tired of this whole thing. In Greece, the government decided to give 28 billions euros to support the banks and only 450 millions euros to support the low and middle class. And when you ask why so little, they reply by mentioning the shitty situation of greek economy. You're responsible for this mess, fuckers. You reduce taxes for companies expecting them to emply more people while you rise them for normal people. And the result is: More expensive cars, yachts and houses for the employers.Idiots...
Yeah, here in Greece everything goes backwards. The last two months half of news time in media is spent on economic scandals of a monastery in Agio Oros. This place in North Greece has about 20-30 monasteries and is enjoying a weird type of independence.A holy place you'd say,a place of beauty and calmness. But it looks like the monks know how to spend their free time. They have invested in all types of financial organizations, the greek lands that belong to the monastery accounts to thousands of square meters. The Greek Church has more money than the whole nation and it doesn't pay any taxes of course...
Meanwhile, going worldwide,Obama's star has started to fall even before taking the presidential place. Is he really a democratic president? Nice conservative choices for the ministries dude, thanks a lot.Well, not like I was expecting him to save the world as everyone's been dreaming. He's just another man who will be put in display while the major war and oil companies and banks of America will continue to move the world at their will...
At the same time, every major company in the world is laying off employees like mad. Do you really think that this will help solve the problem? You only worsen the situation. What is needed is more money for normal people, less taxes and a general boost in the morale of consumers. When we're bombarded everyday by "recession this, recession that" how are you gonna spend more and thus help indirectly the companies?
On the other side,we're all gonna die sooner or later due to global warming consequences or due to water shortage,so why the fuss?
There is no god in this world.Only chaos...

Fallout 2....again
2008-11-26 13:52:18
Two weeks without a journal entry? :O
Well, nothing new apart from the fact I've rediscovered the fun of gaming. The last 2 weeks,I'm spending most of my time playing Fallout 2.You'd say: "Dude, this game is like 10 years old and Fallout 3 has finally made it out to the markets."
Well, this is true but I never finished it back then when I was playing it.It was the first time my pc broke down and I didn't save any of my game data. And because I had already played more than 20 hours of it,I was quite bored to start it from the beginning. But now, with Fallout3 out,I thought: "Hey,let's make a warm-up before the real thing..."

Medpower 2008
2008-11-06 09:08:09
Back from Thessaloniki,it was my 4th time there but I never seem to stop enjoying this city. The conference of power electric engineers was a great success, the topics discussed were quite interesting and it's always something to be among the elite of the country when it comes to professors and major enterprises CEOs.
I really have to thank a lot the professor responsible for my thesis for allowing me to be there while, taking it by rules,I didn't have the right to.Everything was paid for, accommodation, transport, coffee and lunch breaks. As for my free time outside the conference schedule,I met up with a friend of mine who lives there and we had a good time.Too bad that it was only for 4 days.I wanted a lot more. XD XD
Anyway, back to Athens now.I've been facing severe problems with my internet connection and so I've decided to change my ISP.During the last 2 weeks,I had internet for only 3 days while I needed it the most...Hopefully,when I get the new connection, everything will be back to normal.
