I made patience,I endured the ridiculous battles,I managed to get past the needless episodes and here I am.Second half of Shakugan no Shana II.Where according to everyone,it's getting real good and it's really worth watching.Cause the truth is that up to ep8 the show was way too mediocre for the name it has.And the 1st season hadn't impressed me too...
Let's see now if this month that it took me to watch these 12 first episodes really deserved it... XD XD

First greek amv contest

Bored to death of studying..I have to finish a lighting project later and even the thought is driving me crazy.What's more,it's too hot...
For the past month I've been having problems with my internet connection,which just goes dead on a daily basis.5 minutes,1 hour,4 hours - the offline time varies.I have called the ISP and nothing is getting fixed.I must cancel the connection and check on another ISP as it seems...
Editing-wise I have begun a new project for the first greek amv contest.I don't intend to make anything special - just a random action amv - since the whole organization of the contest is shitty.7-8 editors all in all.Amazing contest,isn't it? XD XD
But I wanna participate because it pisses me off to see amvs from editors who spend like 2 hours(maximum) on an amv and claim that it is superb.The classic Linkin Park or Disturbed songs accompanied by the classic Naruto,Bleach,One Piece,Death Note footage.And what's even more irritating is that these amvs get a ton of good comments because of the anime they use...
Yeah,amv-making is a hobby.You do it for the fun.But when you wanna get praised for an amv of yours,make a decent one... -
Offspring - Rise And Fall Rage and Grace review

Being a fan of Offspring for like 8 years now and preparing myself for their upcoming concert in Greece(first live ever) I'll try to make a short review here of their last album.Hope it may be of some use!!
It contains 12 songs plus one extra track(Japan edition).The first half of it is truly Offspring-like,concerning the catchy hooks,the refined guitars and the bombastic Dexter's voice.The opener "Half-Truism" could be a great opener for any Offspring concert and is followed by "Trust In You",another powerful song."You're Gonna Go Far,Kid" inserts a bit of dance element but still remains one hell of a song while Hammerhead,the album lead single sounds like old Offspring in their best.Then comes "A Lot Like Me", a fine power ballad and is followed "Takes Me Nowhere",yet another addictive song that pulls you into its pace.
Weirdly,the second half is like I was listening to another band.It begins with an anthem,"Kristy Are You Doing Okay" which resembles the calm times of Sum 41(this is not really bad) and continues with "Nothingtown",a song that I could easily hear from any punk pop band and does no good for the album. "Stuff Is Messed Up" kinda saves the day but is followed by yet another power ballad,"Fix You" which this time is SO NOT Offspring-like and should definitely be omitted.And finally the last 2 songs,"Let's Hear it from Rock Bottom" and "Rise and Fall".The first one is generic punk pop with nothing special to comment on while "Rise and Fall" tries more and closes decently the album.
As for the extra track for the Japan edition,"O.C Life" reminds us what Offspring sound like when they're in the mood to make good songs.
All in all,nice album but surely not one of Offspring's best... -
Offspring's new album and Euro 2008

Listening to the new album of Offspring (Rise and Fall,Rage and Grace) and preparing myself for the upcoming exams.
First one is on July 8th and last one is on July 22th with a total of 5 subjects.It's not a lot but combined with 2 more big projects I have to finish by end of June I'm gonna be a bit pressed...
Still,the whole Europe lives in the Euro 2008 rhythm and I kinda forget the studying.We had some very good football matches so far (Italy vs. Holland, Spain vs. Russia, Portugal vs. Czech Republic) and I hope for even better ones.The climax in Austria and Switzerland is awesome and I just wish I were there for a few days.Those daily tv broadcasts just get me more pumped for leaving everything back and just go participate in this great celebration...
Unfortunately,Greece lost to Sweden by 2-0 last Saturday and now things are difficult for us.Well,we were very lucky back in 2004 when we became Europe champions...^^

3 hours stuck in traffic today
8 last hours stuck in Matlab
Ok,that pretty much sums up this week.The weekend is off to my cottage to enjoy the beach with friends.Rest,swimming,coffee,booze,good food - you know the drill.
Oh,and this week had some really good amvs too.
Kitsuner,Funky-kun,Neverend,Jaddziadax and a lot others
