  • AC/DC live in Athens & DVD player hacking 2009-05-30 08:03:06 Day: Thursday, May 28
    Place: Olympic Stadium of Athens
    Time: 9pm

    One of the greatest live concerts ever performed in Greece happened this Thursday.
    AC/DC,despite their age, showed a frantic energy in their first live concert in Greece.They were practically unstoppable.Angus Young,above anyone else,showed why there's such a myth around his name while Brian Johnson's voice was making the crowd going crazy.

    This was no simple concert,it was an exceptional show with video-walls, animation, cannons, AC/DC bell, the Black Ice train and of course a gigantic Rosie.We also watched Angus slightly stripping himself,listening to the crowd's requests and performing an amazing solo in the center of the stadium with the crowd screaming to every move of his.For more than 2 hours, the overcrowded stadium (over 60000 people) was watching these 60-year old men performing old and new hits,including:

    Thunderstruck
    TNT
    Highway to Hell
    Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
    You Shook Me All Night Long
    Shoot to Thrill
    The Jack
    Back In Black
    Rock N' Roll Train
    Black Ice
    War Machine
    and some others I forget right now XD XD

    It was an amazing unforgettable experience for me and my buddies,despite the 80euros we paid each.Our feet and lungs were hurting,our voice and ears were closed but one thing remained: immense satisfaction from this unreal concert...

    Apart from that,today I hacked into my DVD player and made it region-free.Should anyone want to try it,this is the site:
    http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

    I have wanted to do that since I bought the Gundam Seed complete boxset and one of FMA's boxsets in New York last year.Finally,these boxsets will not be just a decoration in my office... XD XD
  • Anime figures 2009-05-19 09:20:05 3 seasons of Zero No Tsukaima and I come to realise why Kugimiya Rie is considered the queen of tsundere.In case someone doesn't know her,she's the voice actress behind Shana (from Shakugan no Shana), Louise (Zero no Tsukaima), Taiga (Toradora) and I believe many other tsundere anime girls...Just listen to her trembling "baka" - simply hilarious!

    Job is going fine these days and lately I've started occupying myself with ebay,amazon and other e-shops.I was never a fan of them but there you can find almost anything on ludicrous prices.And there's always stuff that never comes to Greece so...

    To be more specific,these last days I've been searching for some anime figures and the ones I'd like to have can be found only in ebay.Yeah,I'm looking for limited edition figures that became out of stock very quickly,not mainstream stuff you can find on any anime merchandise shop of your city (like Death Note,Haruhi,Naruto,Bleach,etc.).

    I also bought from a local anime shop two small gundam figures,12 cm each.They are Freedom and Justice from Gundam Seed.Gotta paint them a bit more to look like the prototypes...

    As for amvs,I'm trying to find some spare time to edit some that I have in mind but always something happens and I never start them.Seems like the only solution is to do some all-nighters and go to work as a zombie XD XD
  • Broken 2009-05-09 04:05:11 A tiring week along with several sad incidents.
    A person I knew died in a car accident and the other person who was inside the car (a friend of mine) has been in a comma since the incident.Hope everything goes well...

    The situation with my brother's depression has been getting worse the last days.My parents are on the verge of breaking and we all hope that the new therapy will help him.As for me,I try to support them as much as I can by bringing a bit of happiness in a depressed home.

    Still,I can't really keep up with it.Lately,the work has become too boring,I don't do anything.I just sit at the office and try to spend my time.Although this might seem ideal for the majority,it's really a fucked up situation for me who tries to get away from the bad situation at home by occupying myself with work.

    I'm also not the man to surf the internet all the time and watching videos or playing games is too much given that the distance between my colleagues (who have a load of work) is less than 3 feet.As a result,due to doing nothing at work yet spending 2.5 hours to go there and come back home,I end up coming home too pissed and saddening my parents more...

    You would ask why not change this job?
    Simply because I'll be going for army service this August and I need to do something until then.Finding a new job related to my studies is impossible under these circumstances (who will employ me knowing that in 3 months I'll leave for a year?) so I stay where I am.

  • A football night to remember 2009-05-03 06:00:21 Saturday night was the the final match for the Greek Superleague Football Cup.The two teams competing were Olympiakos and AEK. That was easily the best football match I've ever seen the last years.I supprt Olympiakos btw...

    Within 8 minutes after the match began,AEK was already ahead with a 2-0.AEK didn't have control over the match but Olympiakos couldn't really threaten.First half ended like that but who could have thought what would happen later...

    Second half begins,a new addition to Olympiakos and we finally score our first goal.Score 2-1 by 50'. Olympiakos totally controls the match now and after several lost shoot-outs we finally score again in 66'. 2-2 and the match was like it just began but with Olympiakos holding the upper hand...

    But ball is a bitch and at 90',2 minutes before the end of the match (according to the additional time given by the referee),AEK scores bringing the score to a 3-2.That minute I felt almost crushed.I thought we had lost...Next attack was the last one but HELL YEAH,Olympiakos scored.The same player who scored the first goal brought the score to a 3-3 and so we moved on to additional time,2 halfs of 15 minutes each...

    Additional time begins, Olympiakos still presses a lot and scores a goal at 103'. 4-3 for us now.Yet,the scorer Galletti put out his shirt while rejoicing for the goal and got a second yellow card from the referee,leaving Olympiakos with 10 players. Two minutes later there was a rough play from Olympiakos which tried to stop AEK from counterattacking and another second yellow,for Papadopoulos this time.

    The match has another 15' minutes before ending and Olympiakos has to continue with 9 players.CRAP...

    As it was to be expected,AEK scores again due to the lack of equal numbers and the last 10 minutes of the match was a living nightmare for Olympiakos.We were defending with everything we got and managed to hold until the end.

    Final Score: 4-4 and we're heading for penalties...

    Oh,something I forgot to mention, I was watching the game with a friend who is AEK.We are good friends so we didn't fight but you can imagine what was happening during the match with all the screams and sarcasms. XD

    So,penalty shoot-outs...We have already been too psychologically pressed with how things turned out and now that.
    After 8 penalties,the score is 4-4 and Majstorovic of AEK, loses the first penalty.
    Now Jorjevic had to score and we'd be crowned champions.Notice that this was his last match before hanging up his football shoes.He is a living legend in Olympiakos with over 12 years of high-quality playing.

    Yet he loses it and the score remains 4-4.Another 8 penalties later,the score is now 8-8 and Georgeas from AEK loses his penalty too.It was Antzas turn for Olympiakos,and just like Jorjevic it was his last mtach of his career.
    Yeah,you imagine it,he lost it too....

    Our nerves are nearly broken now,my heart races too fast,my friend has gone from hell to heaven 2 times already and he's way over his limit...
    As Olympiakos was left with 9 players, after the two teams shoot 18 penalties (9 each),the same players started shooting again in the same order...

    Another 16 penalties later,Peletieri from AEK loses the penalty.This time Belucci didn't fail...After 34 penalties in total

    ~~~~~~OLYMPIAKOS GOT THE SUPERLEAGUE CUP~~~~~
    Finally I could relax a little while my friend was almost crying.That was definitely a football night to remember,a true advertisement for the sport...
  • Splouts 2009-04-09 17:05:23 2 months of work and I've already gotten into the role of a person who awaits for the weekend/holidays as mad.
    Last Saturday I went to Chalkida,a coastal city one hour away from Athens,with 2 friends to drink a coffee and just have fun.These 2 are graphic designers so while at the cafe they kept drawing all the time.While me as the photographer of the company was checking the surroundings...Posing next to the angry penguin graffiti was so hilarious XD XD
    As for this weekend,I was planning to go to Thessaloniki but my plans changed so it's time to finish the fun dub of the shitty Dragonball movie that is going out.The live-action one...
    No,I didn't see the movie and will not see this crap.We just checked in 5 minutes the whole movie and then decided on the clips we'll dub.Up until now,the result is simply epic...
    I'm playing every character apart from Goku,Piccolo and Goku's grandpa.In other words,I'm changing my voice a thousand times...
    The final video is so gonna be uploaded in youtube.^^
