There were a lot of other vids cut from the ACen2k3 contest showing -- many of which were absolutely spectacular. There was a hilarious comedy set to Apollo 440's "Stop the Rock" that was slashed because it was considered a secondary entry; there was an absolutely /beautiful/ Utena video that was slashed for the same reason; dwchang's Kenshin/evolution video was cut for that reason...the list goes on and on.
Somebody just happened to draw the short straw for me.
It really isn't that big of a deal.

Well, back from Anime Central. One hell of a good time, I must say. I'm still a little ticked, if not surprised, that both of my submissions were cut from the contest despite their reception at the prejudging...but oh well. There's only so much time to show things; I guess a few things have to go.
Got to talk with Koopiskeva, Ashyukun, OmniStrata, Quu, Flint, Phreakazoid, dwchang, Vancore...and a few others of note ;) It was extremely fun to meet those people in person, and I hope to be able to do that again either next ACen or sometime at some other convention. (Though I imagine that they all hate me by now ;) )
Regrettably, I couldn't stay around for the closing ceremonies, but I imagine that the winners of the ACen AMV contest are pretty much set in stone. I don't believe that Euphoria will own the board, either...the drama category for videos was INCREDIBLY strong. It makes me feel a little better knowing that I was cut against such good competition. I guess.
Anyway, great fun. I'm not the one to write up lengthy con reports, but there are a few post-ACen treats to be had ;)
Oh yeah, and mad props to Daniel, ACen's first Iron Chef challenger and winner. That video you did simply kicked all ass. :)
