3 years almost?
2008-07-30 10:40:23
It's been three years since I posted a journal entry. I went into solitaire for a while, not editing whatsoever. My drive moved elsewhere from AMVs in 2007 when I created two DVDs and a television advertisement for the Championship Wrestling Experience, and a radio spot for David Aye, former candidate for Mahoning County (OH) Sheriff. Now I am sitting in my Desktop Video class at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, learning video production's in's and out's. I am now running a full version of Final Cut Studio 2 on both a 17" iMac G5 and a 17" MacBook Pro. I will have a new AMV, my first in two years, up shortly. I have a short beta of it (and some other works) on Youtube, just search my name in there.
It's good to be back.

Myspace and Tagworld sites
2005-12-29 13:03:59
For reasons unknown, I have made a Myspace and Tagworld site for the studio. The URLs are
http://www.myspace.com/insightstudios
http://www.tagworld.com/Insight_StudiOs
If you want, you can send me a friend invite there. People have been asking me all the time for my Myspace, and now I have one (cool +1, well, not really). Check them out!

Slowly, but its comming, just slowly.
2005-12-04 16:22:22
It's been a long time comming but there is finally some major progress in my new video. Between my last video (which ended up on 6 other websites somehow) and now, here is a bit of a timeline of what has happened:
1.) Began FFVII: AC video
2.) Deleted all progress, it wasn't exactly working out, started over with new song.
3.) Scrapped project completly
4.) Switched to Avid Free version
5.) Deleted Avid Free, you need 2 screens for that thing to be even organized.
6.) Tried Ulead MediaStudio
7.) Deleted Ulead MediaStudio, crashed too much
8.) Got PowerDirector 4
9.) Came up with a plan for a Serial Experiments Lain video
10.) Got all 4 DVDs ripped to computer
11.) Computer crashes, erases all AVI files of the DVDs
12.) RE-ripped DVDs
13.) Generated clips
14.) Began editing
15.) Programs freezes, all editing NOT saved
16.) Redid opening 30 seconds that I lost.
17.) Back on track, finally (which was about 5 minutes ago)
Plus, on top of that, I've had school, marching band (our football team made it to state, but lost...), and bowling. So it's safe to say that I have had a LOT on my plate recently. I will try to have the video done by the end of this week, that is if everything goes as planned.

Get over it
2005-11-19 22:08:52
Unless you been living under a rock (with some form of WiFi, apparently), you have noticed that Wind Up Records has asked that all Evanescence, Creed, and Seether AMVs be removed. If they dont like having free promotion, that's their problem. There are still a LOT of bands out there that like the idea of AMVs just for that reason, its promotion. If you take a look around the internet, several bands' websites have AMVs in the Media sections of their sites. All I can say on the matter is "Who Cares?". You just cant use, officially, 3 bands' work, while other bands encourage it. If you dont like it, deal with it, there a lot of other bands out there.
Now with the ranting out of the way, on to my work update. I decided to stop wprk on the FFVII: AC video for now and decided to work instead on the Serial Experiments Lain video using Machinae Supremacy's "The Wired". Coincidence? Hardly. If you listen to the lyrics, you can tell that the song was written with SEL in mind. Download the song online at their website, www.machinaesupremacy.com. Take a look at an excerpt from the lyrics:
All those people I caused pain
don't know me now
But the anguish that I feel
still clings somehow
To free myself I freed them all
from me and what I was
Now I exist only to me...
If that doesn't fit the last episode of the show, nothing does. The rest of the song is the same way, and it is all sung from Lain's perspective. And in case you haven't noticed, the song title is The Wired, which is what the entire freaking show is about.
Alright, thats it for now, laterz.
