JOURNAL: DeinReich (Jason Kollat)

  • Decisions Decisions... 2005-11-10 20:49:47 I just got done watching All Your Base for the eleventybillionth time. Ah, the good ol' days. Anyhow, just a little update for you all. I got a T-shirt made with the Insight StudiOs text-only logo/red letter branch off thingies (that say Anime Music Videos and Soundtrack Reanimation, respectivly). I'll get pics of it for you in the next entry. On the workfront, I got flooded with school video project help requests, so I had barely any time to work on anything. I did, however, come to a decision on the next video I'm going to do. Last time I did a video I tried to prove that cool stuff can come out of WMM2, and this time I will attempt to show that overused stuff can still be cool. Right now, FFVII: Advent Children is HUGE on the org, so that is the anime I'm using, and Linkin Park has always been overused, so thats the music (or more specificaly "Figure .09"). I did a video using this stuff when the only footage of the film was the trailer, so this new video could also be concidered a tribute to that. Look for it pretty soon, concidering I already have the clips for it on my computer. Alright, well I'm tired of typing so i guess that's all for now, See you all!

  • Bored? Write a Journal! 2005-11-03 20:41:05 Welcome to my life. Sitting at the keybored, staring at a 15" monitor, sifting through RSS feeds to find something worth reading, being a IM tech support guy, listening to ChroniX Agression on iTunes and posting in 3 different forums. Wow do I need a life.

Anyhow, back on subject (if there ever was one)

I'm about half way through my pet project, the FFVII: AC Soundtrack Reanimation. So far, I've used 11 tracks so far in the film, including band's such as Pantera, Machinae Supremacy, Disturbed and others. Again, I don't think that I will be able to post links to this, bt hit me up on IM and I'll see what I can do. On the AMV side, I am conimplating what project I should do next. I've been getting a LOT of praise for my newest video, he Who Makes a Beast out of Himself, and I want to thank you guys who have left comments. Because of the reaction, I think that this is the direction that my videos will take now in the future. However, I have two ideas that I'm tossing around in my head, a FFVII video and a Serial Experiments Lain video. Both will use Machinae Supremacy (yes, the same MS from In The Groove). Meh, I'll get it figured out.

    See you guys next time!

  • Update 10/30 2005-10-30 16:51:48 Hey again people, just giving you guys a quick update. The progress on the FFVII:AC Soundtrack Reanimation is comming along VERY well, as the music from the film was supprisingly easy to remove. Now I am in the track selection process, which should only take a day or so. I'm not sure if I should put up a link for it when it is done, due to the fact that it features the entire film, which as most everyone knows , it is not allowed here to post links to entire films. I will talk with one of the mods before I post anythng of that nature. On the side of AMV's, however, I thnk that my next video will be a lot more toned down then my last ones, because I plan to use Serial Experiments Lain for it. For the song I will use Machinae Supremacy's "The Wired" (fittingly enough). It wont be as balls-to-the-wall as my past ones have been. Look for it in about a month or so. I'll keep you guys posted, and feel free to IM me anytime (AIM/Yahoo - SOAD2k8, MSN - SOAD2k8 @gmail.com, ICQ - 239264580)

  • Works so far and Soundtrack Reanimation 2005-10-27 06:47:37 OK, so far, in my entire history (Old studios and otherwise), I have made 39 videos with 17 being anime. You can see my newest works here on this site. On top of that, I have also done what I call Soundtrack Reanimations which are not posted on this site. What these are basically are new music track for an anime episode or feature film, just because either the music gets to repetitive or because there is better fitting music. In AMV's, it is video that works around a song, while with Soundtrack Reanimation, the opposite. One day I will get around to hosting them somewhere so you all can see them. So far I have done Soundtrack Reanimations for the following:

    Fullmetal Alchemist: Episodes 3, 5, 29, 31
    Serial Experiments Lain: Episode 2
    Appleseed
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (WIP)

I got a couple new videos out so go and check them out!
