Videos In Progress

Just a list of what I'm up to (or at least am planning to be up to). Comments appriciated, just IM me at DOKool.
#. Title [Anime] (Song)
1. Calling All Alters [Scryed] (The Crystal Method - Name of the Game)
2. Here She Comes [FLCL] (Eve 6 - Rescue)
3. ...And It's All Somebody's Fault [Cowboy Bebop] (OK GO - Get Over It)
4. Untitled [Battle Royale] (In The House/In A Heartbeat from 28 Days Later)
5. Dreaming [Spirited Away] (Robert Miles - Children (Dreams Version))
A note on #5... I'm so satisfied with the way that my AniMix segment turned out that I'd give the whole song a proper treatment. But that's in the future.

Nooooooooooooooooooo!
2003-07-30 01:59:01
I have been corrupted by VicBond007:
My first lens flare. *sobs*
Seriously, though. AniMix Part 88 is turning out to be really, really good. I just need to find the right backdrop clips for the last 10 seconds and I'm SOLID.
In other news, SYLN made Otakon! WOOHOO! Although I'm definately <i>not</i> in a category I'd prefer to be in, and will thoroughly get my ass kicked, it's still a huuuuuge honor. It's gonna be insane to see my video seen by, like, 6000 people. I'm trying to figure out a way to sneak one of the small cameras into the main event hall so I can tape the reaction to my vid. Shhh!
In other Otakon news, I get an interview w/ Fred Gallagher =) Plus Mel's coming with me, and not only is she coming, but she's cosplaying as Asuka. *dies* I'm gonna start burning copies of TLO 1.5 this weekend, waiting for Patrick to mail my AniBo submission DVD back to me and re-encoding Warning and Fine Again into divx or xvid, plus doing the same for SYLN and AniMixPart88.
So much to do, so little time...

I'm still alive! Really! I am!

But I haven't been editing, which sucks. No new concepts. Cannot ride the wave of euphoria that SYLN brings me forever.
Newly Watched: Hellsing (finally! Good but enh.), Scryed (loved it, may cosplay as Kazuma in the future), Alien Nine (they should have expanded it instead of just making it a compliment to the manga, but still good)
Newly Read: Alien Nine Vol 2, Battle Royale Vol 2, Scryed Vol 3. I'd known about the former and the latter, but when I walked into the comic shop on South Street the other day, I'd never expected to see that shrink-wrapped glory that is BR Vol 2 on the shelves. My poor wallet.
Still to Watch: Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (watched through the first 30 min? I think), KareKano, Wolf's Rain
But back to the first thing I mentioned in this entry. I have no inspiration. None. Nadda. And only one month left of primo editing time before I return to The Rock and cannot complete another video until October Break.
Why can't I edit at school? I can't spend a month on a video, doing 1-2 hours a day. I need to edit in 5+ hour MINIMUM blocks. SYLN was done in 13 hours because I had MOMENTUM. And I can't get momentum at SRC, where there's always something to do or someone to hang out with or, well, classes.
So, if any of you people who read this have an idea that could fit the following animes, IM me at DOKool. I'm always online. I swear:
-->Scryed
-->Cowboy Bebop
-->Lain
-->Alien Nine (hard one! If you can bring me a usable idea that I actually go ahead with, three free opinions!)
-->KareKano (note: I haven't watched it yet, but when I do I've heard it's a perfect outlet for Romantic vids. Already have a couple in mind.)
-->E... y'know what, no. I saw enough mediocre Evangelion videos at the Otakon KoP Prescreening to not want to contribute any more.
And now, I'll repeat a call I've made many, many times in this thing before. Who the hell is reading me so much? IM me or something.

catching up...
2003-06-11 13:19:07
Manga: In the past two weeks, have read Alien Nine vol 1, Battle Royale vol 1, and Scryed vol 1 and 2. Enjoyed all immensely, cannot *wait* for the Alien Nine DVD to come out... BR is quite interesting compared to the novel and the movie... Scryed will be a cool series, maybe I'll do an action vid.
Anime: Have watched *one* new show, Wolf's Rain ep1 fansub. Downloading the next 9 eps as we speak. Grazi to Guyver2019 for the tip.
Japanese: We started katakana today. *dies*. There may be good news as to the Second Session actually happening, which means we'd be doing kanji *revives self and promptly dies again*. I'm actually getting kinda good w/ hiragana, which is good b/c there's a quiz tomorrow on writing it *dies yet again*.
AMVs: May start watching Cowboy Bebop DVDs in preparation for "...And It's All Somebody's Fault" tonight, more likely tomorrow. Am feeling vaguely iffy on the vid, dunno why... I'd shelve it, but I don't have anything more interesting to do. After I start scripting, I'll decide whether or not I feel I can pull it off.
As far as alternate vids, I don't think I should do another FLCL vid... or another Eva vid, at least not for a while... I want to do an upbeat vid, so Lain is out, because I haven't even finished watching the DVDs yet, and I dunno if I can make "Ms. Blue Sky," which may default into being a Eva/Lain vid or just a tribute to Rei.
A friend has dropped my name as an AMV maker to some guy who's restarting his industrial-scene event (i think it was called Rubberlution or something like that)... supposed to be part art show, part fashion show, part music show. If I were to do an industrial AMV (Covanant, VNV Nation, Front 242, etc), I could possibly get it shown. I'd like to do some Apoptygma Berzerk, either Starsign or Until the End of the World. Until the End of the World could be a nice Lain/Arisu (it's NOT Alice, god dammit) relationship study... either song would be good Eva material...
I think I definately need to get some new DVDs. Having only four shows (CB, Lain, Eva, FLCL), two movies (Akira, Mononoke) and an OAV (Kite, which I really don't like enough to AMV) isn't nearly enough. IM me at DOKool with any suggestions.
I think I may take a nap... either that or browse animeniacs or import-anime for stuff that hasn't been R1ed yet. Maybe Metroid Prime. Maybe Soul Calibur 2 (can I get a hell-yeah for needing to swap FOUR DISCS? No? I didn't think so, but the game is worth it).

Just wanna get a couple things online...

In return for forcing me to watch an absolutely horrid shounen-ai AMV, Ashyukun agreed to choose one song out of three I gave him, sound unheard. After the NES Project and Shallow Diaphragm (his AWA) vid, he is bound by whatever legal weight an AIM conversation holds to make an AMV with Rage Against the Machine - Calm Like A Bomb. To be fair, the choice of anime is at his discretion, so I can't wait to see what he comes up with.
In other news, the Cowboy Bebop vid I've had planned will begin early prep work this weekend. Making the blank script now, will probably start watching DVDs tomorrow.
