My car is going to cost $1000-$1500 to fix >_>. It needs a whole new front end :(. At that rate I wonder if I should just get a new car. But I don't want to be left with a note when I go to Japan (not my trip in a month, rather when I try moving there in 2010 or 2011) on top of my school loans. I definitely can't afford it before my trip in a month since I have to pay my car insurance.
My eye hurts today because I forgot to put the gel stuff in for a couple of nights. It's red too. This day is sucking more and more and has barely started.
Gymnastics starts back up tonight at least...hope that can break the cycle. And I'm getting my eyebrows done before that...now I hope THAT breaks the circle. I'll be stuck with that for weeks or even months if not done well.

Labor Day Weekend!!
2009-09-08 15:15:27
Sooooo I FINALLY made it to Six Flags: Great Adventure!! The traffic was great going and coming. The park wasn't very crowded either!! I got to ride El Toro 3 times. I've decided that that is my favorite coaster EVER!! I will see if Millenium Force or Bizarro (formerly known as Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England, not the crappy one here in DC) can top it, but it's tough to beat. Nitro is still my second fave. I will always have great memories with Nitro because a couple of years ago me and my bro got to ride it back to back about 5 or 6 times since the park was about to close. SOOOO much fun. But yeah, it was really good.
El Toro - you gotta ride it in the front once. On the first drop you can't even SEE the bottom of it. The the other times...the back is where it's at. It's a completely different ride and you really feel the airtime like nowhere else because of the pull. But between the speed, the Gs, and the sharp turns, this ride doesn't let up. I feckin' LOVE IT!!
Bizarro - This was formerly Medusa but they added some effects with speakers, a trailer, some mist, and fire. I guess this ride needed the face lift to compete with the world class coasters neighboring it (and no, I don't mean Rolling Thunder). El Toro is still the most popular ride for a damn good reason.
Kingda Ka - Great ride, but I'm to the point now where I just mainly enjoy the reactions of people getting off. One girl tried to leave from the ENTRANCE her mind was so blown lol. This is a ride where you can ONLY ride it in the front to get the full effect. Every other time I ride it in other parts of the train, it isn't as intense.
The Twister - Two words. NEVER AGAIN!!
I navigated there which is like driving, and then drove the whole way back while everyone else but my aunt was in sleepy land so I was exhausted as hell when I got back.
As for my eye, the doc gave me some stuff to put it in at night before bed for 3 months to allow it to completely heal. Besides the fuzzy vision it isn't too bad. It's like the pill. You just gotta remember to take it. He said my symptoms sounded like Recurrent Corneal Erosion. Yeep!! At least I have 20/20 vision, w00t!! I could have *sworn* the hours of amv making woulda knocked me down a notch by now :P.
Speaking of amvs, I am officially editing!!! I very excite!! And Nana got 2nd or 3rd at AnimeFest this weekend so that's doubly cool ^_^.
Oh and I am FINALLY really editing my vid now. I hope to have it done so that I can submit a couple of vids to AUSA, but we'll see. No pressure. Japan is going to be enough.

Actually celebrated my birthday this weekend
2009-08-31 10:50:12
Besides a few lame excuses to not show up on some others' parts, it was fun.
Inglorious Basterds was gloriously awesome. I can't really determine which was better between this and District 9. Brava, August!! Brava! Great month for good films.
We hung out at Lucky Strike and I got my pop rocks drink that I wanted so badly. It was soooo good. They now have TWO versions. I don't get why they don't advertise it on their drink menu, but oh well. More for me!!
I won our round at bowling, inebriated and all. Sure, I did it with an 85, but winning is winning, damnit!!
Boss is back, but is so busy playing catch up that it's been okay so far. Here's hoping for a good week. I have doctor's appts Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning >_>. I have to go to my PCP to get a referal for an opthamologist. I accidently poked my eye back in May and now I'm noticing that it gets really irritated in the same area for long periods of time if I get anything in it. It's REALLY annoying and if there's an issue, I need to know.
I may try for Six Flags this weekend with a couple of buddies. I want to do it before it gets cold.
I've been trying to practice my Japanese for my big trip. It will be here and gone before I know it!!

Today's my birthday!
2009-08-24 17:56:14
Decided to *cough cough* call in sick today ~_^. Oi I'm getting up there :P. 24, that's like...mid 20s >_>.
Well, got the time off, got the trip booked, bought my ticket! Japan is a go!! Just gotta get a few things in order with luggage. Should be a lot of fun!
Going to bone up on my Japanese a little before I go.
Six Flags fell through due to rain, so I guess we'll just go to Chinatown and see Inglorious Basterdz over the weekend.
I'm sad that True Blood is down to the final 2 eps...but on the upside, DEXTER'S COMING BACK!!! Cannot WAIT!!
Trying soooo hard to get my new amv going but motivation has been the pits!!

Definitely going to recommend District 9

It was definitely top 3 for me for the summer and I've seen pretty much all of the big summer hits (as some of you may know from past entries ~_^). The SFX were so seamless and the story was great too. I laughed a lot, but was scared at times too. It was pretty gory, but I'm more or less used to it so it doesn't bother me. It gets an A. Its between this and Star Trek for my fave movie this year (HP is #3).
I remembered my Japanese teacher telling me a few years ago that gospel music was coming up in Japan. I had been curious to know if there was a deviation in style or something. However last week someone sent me this:

Yes, I know they are Korean and not Japanese, but I was still totally blown away. They have it DOWN!! I tried to search for and Japanese gospel groups but couldn't find any.
Me and my friend were joking about it being a Lazy Sunday yesterday and then I checked out my tv guide and saw that the Chronicles of Narnia: TLWW actually was listed to play in the evening. I LOLed hard, then proceeded to watch:

Aaaah good times :P.
Got a date coming up on Friday. Sorta weird, but I'll try to roll with it. I just hate creating awkwardness where there originally wasn't any >_>.
