First gymnastics session is over
2009-08-12 08:49:06
Woohoo! I was the only one to make every class!! Even more cool, I actually started on back tucks!! My instructor told me that I may actually get a tuck before a handspring. And also, my roundoffs were so good and consistent, next session I'll be trying back handsprings out of them :D.
I will hopefully be in Japan in the fall so I am going to have to get my sessions pro-rated because I'm likely going to miss a couple of classes. My assignments while away are to stretch stretch and stretch. I'll probably do some conditioning too.
I decided that I want to go to Six Flags for my b-day. Kingda Ka is down, but at least I've ridden it, and besides, I actually prefer El Toro and Nitro.

Sorry, it's been almost two weeks!

Nothing too too new. Today's my mom's birthday, w00t!! She wants money, so I guess we can work that out ~_^.
Gymnastics class is down to two more classes. The next set of sessions don't start until September. I am INDEED getting abs now. My mom confirmed it for me. I guess I can try some of the exercises myself at home to maintain. Back handsprings are coming along!! I learned this trick to use my toes to push off! It actually works!! Who knew such a tiny part of you could contribute so much.
I have zero ideas for what I want to do for my birthday. Drinks and movie works fine enough I guess! Maybe I'll have us go to Lucky Strike or something...
Finished my rewatch of a certain series I want to make my next amv with. I wasn't sure if I could make it work, but then I saw the last couple of eps and was like "GOLD!!!!!"

Otakon 2009 has restored my faith in cons!! Fave. Otakon. Ever!!

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=170134 - Finally up!

Otakon was a total blast. Started strong with a great Thursday. Me and my buds decided to dress up as phail Naruto cosplay and it was so much fun. We looked soooooo stupid. I'm talking dishelved wigs with real hair sticking out, horrible make up, clothes on stupid, the WORKS. There are pictures...and video, but we won't be circulating them :P (though two fellow org editors got to see it but I won't divulge who ~_^). The sad part is, we actually got MORE attention looking completely ridiculous than we do when we actually put together decent cosplay lol. I'm talking hugs, photos, people walking up to us talking, just...everything! It was like we actually did *well*. I can't stop laughing about it honestly. "BELIEVE IT!!!" Sometimes it can be a lot of fun to just laugh at yourself. That, and after AB we've discovered the joys of social experiments.
I'm such an idiot though for going to work this week so far. I've been totally lethargic and not getting anything done...I even brought work home last night. This con was particularly exhausting since we had sooo much fun. My new camera works beautifully by the way. That anti-shake is the shiznit!! Also its twilight capabilities made for some GREAT shots!
Even though the sound system was horrible (not the staff's fault or anything), it was awesome to see my amv on the big screen with the huge mob of people! Nothing like it! It didn't place, but I really appreciate the feedback I've been getting about it from editors and viewers alike, so thanks everyone!
I also had a fabulous time meeting with the other editors throughout the con as well as at the dinner. Iron Editor was fun too. It's just utterly insane to me the level of editing people can do in such a short amount of time. I tip my hat! I'm definitely looking forward to next year!! I'll try to get some pics posted (of GOOD efforts of course lol).
I'm really relieved because I was initially concerned I was losing my con mojo, thought I didn't buy anything but food. I guess my bank account appreciates that.
Went to gymnastics Tuesday. Almost didn't due to exhaustion but thought about how much money I spend and then realized I'd better get my butt in there. It was a good thing I went, even though my arms are KILLING me!! We did these pull ups where you hang from the bar and have to curl and bring your knees to your head. It's CRAZY. I have a feeling that if it's just BAD after day 1, I may not even be able to move them on day 2 >_>. Going to try to rest as well as I can tonight...
Oh, and Harry Potter was good stuff!! Definitely enjoyed it.
I have a quick summer-fall amv I want to do. Very little effects, but I think it's never too late to work on basic editing I say. I have another video in my head after that too, but that one is going to be one HELL of a challenge. We'll see!

Jeebus, Otakon is THIS weekend!! I'm more of less ready, I just need to pack at this point. Definitely getting excited even though the only thing I will care about is the AMVs and Iron Editor :-/. I'm worried that anime just isn't keeping me interested anymore. Oh well, cosplaying and hanging out with friends is cool too.
Also it will give me the chance to test out my new baby:

My BB gc from AMA certainly helped lower the price a little.
Speaking of friends. My bff went to the hospital Monday and I didn't find out until 1am this morning. NOT cool! It wasn't her fault, rather the friend she told to tell me >_>. I don't buy the "I don' get on gtalk often" excuse when they has a Blackberry and *I* have a Blackberry and we are on e/o's message list. We spoke on the thing LAST week so lame excuse is lame...
Gymnastics was good. I think I'd benefit from classes 2x a week though. Round offs were great again. One of my classmates noted my air time after I land and bounce up again. Sometimes I'd have to do multiple hops lol.
As if my life isn't busy enough, it looks like I'm going to see Harry Potter tonight. That's going to take a big hunk out of my time to pack, but I can just go to bed late or get up early too. Man, I need a *real* vacation. Cons are fun but aren't relaxing.

Doot doot doot

So, Otakon's looming closer now! My costume's getting there. Just waiting to get a few things in the mail, but otherwise I should be good. I may have to cancel the order on the glasses and order elsewhere since they supposed won't even leave the warehouse until the 14th and it's on standard U.S. shipping. LAEMSAUCE!!!
Gymnastics was okay. Did some ab work. I like doing the ab work. I think I'm noticing changes already when I look at my stomach. I feel like there's a teeny bit more definition there than before. Also, I'm noticing some new muscles when I flex. No 100% successful back handsprings tonight, however my roundoffs are getting mucho better-o!!! I'm learning how to run into them correctly with a bit of a leap before reaching. I did one so good last night that I jumped up SO high after landing because it was so powerful. Of course, I was a weeny and didn't want to try a back handspring, but I very likely could have and done it well. One of the instructors there told me it was excellent that I pretty much had it when I'm ready to try a back handspring. Hell at that rate, I'd say back tucks will be very very possible!!
Oh and Public Enemies was pretty decent! The plot was a little loose for me, but still good stuff. Guess Harry Potter's next, but I kind of want to see it in IMAX since you get to see special scenes and stuff.
