If You were born today

If You were born today
We'd kill you by age eight
Never get the chance to say:
Joy to the world and
Peace on the earth
Forgive them for they know not what they do
Blessed are the meek and
Blessed are the humble
Blessed are the ninety and nine
Deny the flesh
Deny all that's evil
Tonight you'll deny me thrice
If You were born today
We'd kill you by age eight
Never get the chance to say...

Not one of you, a tarnished angel

On the night I said goodbye
It was for effect
I dried my eyes
A little more than a week, and I'll be in Tokyo.
My Lain/Laurie Anderson project is going slowly. I'm lucky to do 5 seconds of footage a day. I thank God for relentless thirst. Corn liquor can't speak unless you drink it first.

They say that Heaven is just like TV:
A perfect little world that doesn't really need you.

BAAF
2003-09-01 16:44:34
Had a pretty damn great time at BAAF. My health mostly kept in check until I was home, which was sweet. Hotel room kicked ass. The movies were incredible. Kon's newest movie, Tokyo Godfathers (which was premiered at BAAF(and finished two weeks before)) is a masterpiece. For those of you expecting another Perfect Blue or Millenium Actress will be pleasently surprised. Another great movie having it's premiere was Nasu. Another great. I spent most of my time watching the 33mm films across the street. Only watched one video and it was the dub of the first Uresei Yatsura movie. The movie was good, but the dub was gawdawful.
The Returners is a great action film that was everything Terminator 3 should have been. Ichi the Killer had a good story, but BME-type stuff that was meant to shock left me underwhelemed. Miike is a great director nonetheless. Tree of Palme was dreamlike and wonderful, but the director and producer were a couple of pretensious pricks, which turned me off.
The GoH breakfast was worth the powerpass price. I got to eat with Yasuhiro Irie and Tomoko Taniguchi, who were very accomidating and super-nice, answering all my questions and even giving us sketches.
I got to meet Grover, who won the action category at Otakon with the great Trigun Five for Fighting video. A great guy. I hope I didn't come off as rude towards him since I was inbetween minor attacks at the time. Luckily, my wife is always freindly enough for two.
Rocky Ball 3 won the AMV contest, but it was only up against 6 videos, so I have to humbly admit that it's no big deal. It got a great reaction and I was amused that the kid sitting behind me got the monkey/chicken connection.
Now I have to get myself stabalized for our trip to Tokyo at the end of the month...
