Who is downloading my stoopid Banana video? Don't you know it's stoopid?
I haven't touched my new video in a couple of weeks. I suppose that is what happens when I try to work on a video while I am not on vacation.
Yup, that's all my video news.

Ben Folds Levitates Like No Other. Literally.
2002-10-26 10:11:37
I went to the Ben Folds show last night in Gainesville, and it was nothing short of amazing. I thought he played a really good mix of new, old and covers.
His cover of "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" was the best, because he changed "in his hands" to 'by the balls". Favorite lines from that song, "he's got this itty bitty cow by the balls" (someone threw a Chick-fil-A cow on stage) and "he's got some guy named Jeb by the balls" (Jeb is George W.'s younger brother who is also the Governor of Florida). He also covered "Sweet Home Alabama" and changed "Alabama" to "Gainesville, Florida".
And when I didn't think he could play weirder covers, he sang George Michael's "Careless Whisper" and "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" seriously. He also *attempted* to play a couple of lines of Hotel California, because he thought that's what the venue looked like. I think all he got out was "on a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair" before giving up.
Off his new album, he played Annie Waits, Zak and Sara, Fred Jones Part 2, The Ascent of Stan, Not the Same, Rockin' the Suburbs and The Luckiest.
I thought he performed Zak and Sara the best. Then again, Annie Waits was pretty good too.
The Ascent of Stan sounded kind of weird without any accompaniment, because that meant it didn't pick up pace in the middle of the song. I also wasn't expecting him to play Rockin' the Suburbs, for the same reasons. And when I decided to fill in the "mah mah mah mah mah maow" type noises between the verses, this girl turned around and gave me an evil look! (Tangent: She and her boyfriend were not cool anyways because they pretended that they wanted to go down the stairs, pushed me and my friend aside and then totally took our spots. AND, they weren't at all happy to be seeing Ben! Grumpy people at happy concerts are not welcome.)
Who knew Not the Same was about a guy? For some reason, I always thought it was about a girl. Odd.
Some of the older songs he played were Kate, One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces, Steven's Last Night in Town, Army, Underground, Emaline, Song for the Dumped, and some other songs I'm forgetting. He played a slow version of Song for the Dumped, and I think the whole audience was waiting for him to freak out and pick the song up, but he never did, which was a shame.
If singing those songs were all Ben had done, I would have been a very happy little girl. BUT, Mr. Ben Fuckin' Amazing Folds decided to LEVITATE!Levitate levitate. Not like David Blaine levitate, because that's faked with angles and wires(in post production). You can't fake levitating in front of an audience that's looking at you from all different angles. So, I have absolutely no idea how he did this, but it ROCKED. Maybe he really is a god? Kwasek saw it too, so I wasn't imagining things.

still too soon but a little too late

Next Thursday, I'm supposed to:
Take a quiz.
Turn in a homework assignment I've yet to learn how to complete.
Take two exams.
Drive to AWA.
There's been little progress in preparing for these things.
I'm determined to get most of my studying done this weekend but two factors may hinder me from doing so. First, my roommate's family is coming in town for the football game on Saturday. So, I'm obligated to socialize with them some. Also, Saturday is the first night game of the season, which means much partying in my townhouse development that is right next to the stadium. (Side note: Some of my neighbors were having an obnoxiously loud toga party last night... at first I thought the noise was just my other neighbors having a late night jam session again, but no, it was a mass of people wrapped in white sheets.)
Monday I'm supposed to go limo-ing around town with some friends for a friend's 21st. Downside is, I have a 9:30 class on Tuesday that I can't miss because I need to learn how to do the homework I have to turn in on Thursday. Upside is, I don't have to pay $30 like everyone else.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm burning up.
I've started burning MTT AMV CDs to hand out at AWA. So far, I've burned 90 out of 150. For the first 50 CDs, I was labeling, and stuffing into envelopes as they burned. And I felt like I worked for Kathy-Lee. The last 40 I burned haven't been labeled or enveloped yet. I'm trying to con my roommate into doing it for me. But first, I really need to buy some new permanent markers, all of mine (except the black one, of course) are on their way to can-barely-write land.
A mass of people just walked into the computer lab. I guess that means it is time to go to class now. Noo! >_<

It's been reported to me that there's a car around Tallahassee other than mine that has a More Than Toast sticker on it. And apparently it's been spotted at my old apartment complex... weird.

Your comfort zone has been renewed.
2002-09-10 14:51:02
It's been a long time since I've made a post, so here's a quick update.
Moved from apartment to townhouse.
Went to WPB for two weeks.
While there, built new computer.
And also, made new video(Now and Then, Here and There to A Clear Line by Hot Water Music: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/legacy/video.php?v=10536) on new computer.
Then came back to Tally.
Started Fall semester.
Watched lots of the US Open. (Damn you, Pete!)
But, I'm back online now that I finally have my DSL connection up and running. Now to conquer "the router"...
