  • *Le Sigh* 2006-07-13 20:48:23 I don't know what i wanna do! I got a request for a vid... but i don't have all the clips i want... i could easily download the stuff i want... but they'll have two things wrong with 'em: 1) highly compressed divX clips and 2) subtitled!

Well, i'm extremely adament about not having subtitles in my vids... plain and simple. I can try to see if i can find the raw animation for the anime needed, but it's hard to find raw versions of stuff... and high quality at that (since lossless quality stuff is pretty much impossible to send over the internet or download.) Or i can just wait till the DVDs are all released here in the grand ol' US of A.

I think i might just have to tell my friend that they're gonna hafta wait. *sigh*

I'm also getting started on a vid for YaoiCon. I'm not going to be able to attend, but i want to enter a Vid none-the-less.

I suppose i'll figure something or other out.
  • it's official! 2006-07-12 02:47:02 I am officially retarded. Actually, I was officially retarded before now, but after the past... umm... i don't even know how many hours, I figured out some (i suppose) pretty basic settings in VDM.

So yeah.... here's to being retarded!
  • Alrighty then.... 2006-07-11 14:40:35 So yeah... I'm really on a roll here. I've been doing some stuff... working with my DVD rips (which it seems aren't even real rips.) I decided i'm going to work to get better quality rips of my dvds (in particular, the one i'm using for my next AMV.) I'm having a particularly difficult time with VirtualDubMod. Using the settings that were suggested in one of the guides here, when i'm try to save as an AVI using the whole episode, it's estimating it at cose to a 16 gig file, and my drive just can't handle that. lol. Who really wants a 16 gig 30 min single episode of an anime anyway? I would be ok with it since i'm only using it to have better quality video in my AMVs, but the max my harddrive will allow is 4 gigs.

Now.. Here i was thinking... "ok, no big deal, i'll just save it in sections." Well, when i did that, I got the files down below 4 gigs each. However, the files were corrupted. *sigh*

To top all this off, i'm fairly certain i'm not deinterlacing it correctly. *double sigh*

Oh well. Back to the drawing board i suppose. I'm a fairly technologically inclined person.. I will figure it out, and I will provide high quality videos.... at some point. ;-)

    Oh yeah... Hi Judge!!! =D
  • Woo... 2006-07-10 04:15:15 Alrighty... yet another place to blog. For anyone that happens to be reading this, i'm going to pretty much keep this limited to my daily/weekly/monthly goings on pertaining to my AMV producing.

Sure... you're sitting thinking, "Of course, Rosie! Why would you want to put anything other than stuff about your AMVs?!"

Well, I'm hear to tell you, that when i get started on an AMV project, it has a tendency to take over my life until i finish it. It's amusing because i often see people say, "hey... this vid only took me 1 day to make..." or "5 hours to make" and etc.etc.etc.

Well... for me, i usually take 2-7 days on 1 AMV. "Why," you ask?

I'll tell you why! I'm more concerned with the quality of my AMVs rather than pumping out AMVs to keep people hanging around. If I get started on a project, I like to put my whole heart and all my effort into making it a masterpiece!

Now granted, I still concider myself a rookie in the AMV production world, but as you may be able to tell after watching my videos from 1st made to most recent made, you'll see vast improvement from one to the next. This is because I'm still learning. I'm learning the ins and outs to making AMVs as well as the ins and outs of my software. I'm trying new things, ideas, concepts, all the time... trying to get more creative. I want to make stuff that will keep people coming back for more, even after 3 or 4 months with no AMVs to speak of.

When i produce an AMV, I want it to have impact... to really hit home... to knock you out and drag you back on your feet. I want to tell you stories with my art, and I want it to be something that you'll remember 6 months or a year down the road as one of the best AMVs you've ever seen.

Boy oh boy... it seems i've kind of gotten off track. I was going to tell you why AMV stuff is the only thing i'll discuss in here. The reason for that is because I have other blogs where i discuss other stuff. You're more than welcome to check out my Myspace profile and blog if you want to know more about me outside of my AMV production world!
