My vid didnt win in the AX AMV contest, but it seemed most people liked it, so im pretty content with that. I entered my Akira/linkinpark vid which was made last year, so i wasnt super excited going into the contest, but i was glad to get in. The fiasco w/ the amv contest was a big disappointment to me and alot of other people. My dream was to have everyone watch my vid on teh big screen. But the dream was halved, since only half of the people came to watch the postponed amv contest in the morning.
But wow, i havent made a music vid for about a year now. I must be losing it.
I guess ever since i picked up geetar again and making websites, ive decided amv making was way too time consuming and took time away from my other hobbies. But also theres not much inspiration for me either, musically. Also theres not many good new anime out these days. Plus the fact that I don't get dvds anymore doesnt help either(all my vids are from dvd sources). Oh well, Monkeygod Production's is going to be on hiatus for quite awhile.
I hope the AMV community will still be alive and well when i come back. I hope u guys enjoyed what vids ive done so far and thanx for those who left comments. So, I guess ill be seeing yall next time space cowboys....

Waiting for AX....

Damn AnimeExpo still has not list their music video contest rules. I'm remixing the sound on my Akira video and turns out its about 20 seconds over 6 minutes(not including the bumper/intro). Now im hoping the time limit is 7mins.
So I gotta wait for the rules to come out to decide whether to go w/ the long version or the shorter one.

Yet, still re-doing my videos....
2002-01-15 08:14:47
Oh man, ive been pretty lazy in the last week. Im in the process of redoing my Akira video, after finishing redoing my Macross one. Ripping mostly the same scenes, day in and day out (i cant get my lazy ass to rip all the scenes in a days time, its been taking me almost 2 weeks so far).
God its boring as hell redoing someting again. It's definitly not as fun as it was the first time. I was planning on redoing my Trigun one next, but I think im about to change my mind. Its freakin 26 eps, and i REALLY dont feel like rummaging through all those dvds again.
So new plan is to finish up remastering Akira vid, and then doing a brand new anime music video; and maybe get back to Trigun someday. Its been about 6 months since ive done a new vid, so i think its about damn time. I really feel like an amv project that I can feel really motivated about, like the way it was before.
The main problem for me though for making a new vid, is that i dont actively think about ideas. All my video ideas comes to me while listening to whatever songs i happen to be listening at the time. I never pick an anime and then think of a song, the song is always the trigger that inspires me to make an amv. So far i have yet to encounter another song that inspires me this way, so Im not sure how I'm going to make a new vid. Maybe thats why i feel compelled to redo my past vids. Oh well, maybe im just not listening to the right music or whatever.
I feel like doin a jpop amv for some reason(ive been listening to Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikari). But im mainly a drama/action amv creator, so im a bit wary on how ill do on romance vids. Plus I dont kno what the lyrics mean either.

Yay! New member

I created MonkeyGoD Productions thinking it was going to be a one man group(me). I never seriously thought about people actually joining my group. Specially since it is named after my nick, heh.
Well RaN97 recently joined MonkeyGoD Productions and he's off to a good start w/ great Trigun comedy vid (something that is lacking in our past videos). Go check it out, you'll be glad you did:

2001-12-19 01:52:24
My host has gone down and I need to start looking for another server to upload to. Oh well, thats ok, cuz I just finished re-doing my MacrossPlus video, and will start re-doing the Akira one soon. Hopefully when i finish, ill be able to find somewhere reliable to host my vids.
Im still set to enter the AX2002 contest, so you guys better watch out, heh. I just hope some of those AX judges like Limp bizkit or Linkin park :)
