Every time I read the AMV Newsletter I want to shoot myself.
I'm such a selfish egotistical full of myself person. And the jealousy is amazing.
Almost every update i go "How come *I* wasn't interviewed?!" I guess it's because I'm not that great of an editor, am not cool, have not made any awesome contributions ot the .org or anything.
But I WILL, damnit! I Will!
... I just haven't gotten around to it, yet.
The Fight Club beta got ditched when my comp crashed (Argh) and I am "Working on" a music video for The Terminal.
I just finished a really crappy radio spot that I may upload later for you guys to hear the funny(but crap) ness. It's "Otaku Dating Destiny" XDD
After that our project is to do a custom movie trailer. I just have ot pick what movie I want to do a custom trailer for, and then that's in the bag. I wonder what movie I should do?
Other than that, I am co-editor on some projects, now. With Chrish Rish. He's in IMDb. Nothing spectacular, but look him up anyway if you're interested.
I am also head editor on this movie called "The Kidnapping". Again, AMVs allowed me to do this. So you guys who want to go somewhere, make good AMVs, and make them readily available.
Having a MySpace, as despicable as you may think it is, actually helps. And customizing your MySpace intrigues people. http://myspace.com/sqamv it is just a big fat div, but it fools most people into thinking I'm some sort of webdesign master and has helped me out.
Speaking of that, don't bother using the latest codecs or anything. If you want a job, encode to something everyone has. And suck it up about the quality. If you are showing someone video right there in a daily conversation, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT VIDEO QUALITY. As long as there ar eno subs, logos, and you can tell what's going on, a wmv re-encoded to a flash video file will be fine. That is what has gotten me where I am right now. So you anal video quality bitches can stfu. It's only needed if you're expecting to go to someplace other than a computer monitor.
Anyways, I'm procrastinating like whoa on things. But I have solidified my camera plans, and there will be a much nicer camera coming along with me at AWA this year. So look out for it.
It won't be a steadicam/shouldercam, but it will be nice enough.

ZOMG GUYS I GOT THE BEST THING EVER.
So I'm writing this research paper on the subliminal imagery in Fight Club(how Tyler Durden shows up one frame four times before he's actually introduced in the movie) and I show the beta to my teacher, and he likes it. Then I show him my unfinished Fight club beta that I've been working on because I've been so psyched about this project(Hey, I really like the subliminal scenes in Fight Club!) and he says I have some real talent, even though the beta was kind of crappy!

So he asks for some other examples of my work, and I give him my myspace (http://myspace.com/sqamv ) and my amv page. He says that even though I don't have a car, he may be willing to organize someone to come down and pick me up.
What is really amazing is that I've lost a lot of job opportunities BECAUSE I have no transportation to and from areas. So to be told that someone is willing to spend gas money to have me on a music video set is like... The best thing ever, because I AM WORTH MONEY. Right??
So a couple days later, I am working on finishing up my essay with that works cited page. And I email him my question. He answers it, and then tacks this on the end:
"Would you be available next week for a day perhaps to help scout and then on the 18th, 19th, and 20th for a music video shoot? We could use a good PA or two for a couple days."
HOOOOLY SHITE MAN, THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING.
Additionally, he asked me to edit the student PSA that the class made together, but I don't consider that too much of an egoboost considering he gave it to everyone that asked for it(yet he specifically asked me to try, so I dunno...)
ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT KIND OF MASSIVE THANK YOU LETTER I SHOULD WRITE THIS GUY????? - Got it 2006-03-06 23:27:56 Everything that's over :30 should be uploaded to local now, that was worth viewing anyway.

I decided that I'm going to bite the bullet and don't care if I can't delete my videos from ever being seen again.
I'm just going to upload them all to loacl because I don't want to pay for my own host and am really tired of everyone complaining about how slow the bandwidth at the site I have right now.
So, expect everything that isn't hosted on Tripod to be on local. -
New Video host for some unavailable videos

So a rather generous site came to my attention- a free 25GB hosting service that doesn't generate random links and disappears after a week.
Impossible? That's I thought!
So before I start moving all of my videos and files to it, I decided to only upload two videos I liked but weren't anything special.
The first is "The Fanel Fate" - a gory Escaflowne video about the, well, fate of the Fanel family. My first rotoscoping attempt. It has it's flaws but I still like it. The reason I didn't put it on the org was because I was embarrassed that it didn't turn out as well as dwchang's stuff did(which was a HUGE deal at the time- his esca vids, I mean).
The other video is a pointless action video named "Hallucination". It was my third Iron Chef practice music video for TechWood Con one. I love the video, honestly. I love the song. The only trouble with it is that because it was IC practice, I just dumped random crap into Premiere and then made a video with it. So the quality sucks ass.
I might redo it sometime, though. Better quality, all games(or anime.. or a BETTER mix of the two), finish the song.. Spend more than two hours on it.. Actually spend time making the end result look decent. XD
Anyway, those videos should have "DIRECT" links by sometime tonight, for anyone's who's interested.
